If SpikeTV gets back into the wrestling business...

ECW, WWE, and TNA have all been failed attempts at running wrestling products on the SpikeTV/TNN station in America. Not saying programming for these shows weren't good, but it's been noted that all three of these promotions haven't exactly had success with the network. Making it worse is that Viacom's money maker MTV has also failed to generate buzz for the wrestling fans when WSX and Lucha Libre USA didn't get the focus or attention they deserved.

But as the saying goes, "If at first you don't succeed, try and try again!"

So, with that in mind. If SpikeTV does decide to one day put wrestling back on the network, which promotion do you think they would feed their money into? Could Jeff Jarrett's GFW simply be waiting for TNA to leave so they can take the spot? Could foreign promotions like CMLL, AAA, or NJPW make their US television debut by being given deals? Who do you think would have the most success?

Or, if they decide to get into wrestling again, would the most reliable option be to just build their own wrestling promotion from the ground up?

They'll have to pick up ROH once Sinclair ever decided to sell them. I fear if ROH went onto national TV it would lose the effect that the pure ROH fans love about it such as Dragon Saga.

Spike needs to focus on Bellator. They have a creative idea for the show and focus on that and that alone.

No. They don't care for marketing whatever they acquire and then wonder why it fails.

They made a fortune off of wwe. Spike/ tnn wasnt even a household cable station before the wwe deal. Theyve been top 15 ever since. With raw behind them they created the cable tv phenome that was ufc on spike.

Im sick of roh. They will never live up to the no.2 status. Whether theyre on spike or not. Final battle was a piece of shit.

Tna always drew 3000 - 6000 for their three big ppvs, the impact on the road debut drew 4500 in chigago. Roh will never reach that level.

I'm not going to directly respond to any of what you just said. I'm simply going to put out facts.

ROH's PPV business in 2014 > TNA's PPV business in the last two years.

ROH's attendance > TNA's attendance, and that's adding TNA's house shows which when totaled came to a lousy 5,000 people in seven months, with an average of three house shows a month.

ROH on Sinclair will be watched by more people than TNA on Destination America, UNLESS... TNA proves to be a massive draw. I'm not going to talk about the quality of the products, the wrestlers or anything. Simply put, you're full of shit. But you're also proven to be mentally ******ed so we have to take what you say with two tonnes of salt.

But WWE didn't make nearly as much as they did prior, nor after leaving the network.

Spike TV can go fuck themselves. I hold them about 30% responsible for TNA's miseries. People were saying during TNA's shift to Wednesday that Spike wasn't advertising or notifying about it at all. Only fans on the internet figured that out beforehand. Letting TNA air on their network for the last few weeks doesn't change the fact that they did less than what they could do. I think Deadliest Warrior too could have achieved much more fame if they were on another channel. When I think of Spike TV now, the first thing that comes to mind is that uncharismatic dude Tito Ortiz standing awkwardly on the entrance ramp.

The issue with WSX was that they tried to limit shows to 30 minutes. That was not enough time for decent matches so no one watched.

The issue with Spike and TNA was TNA's fault, not spikes. The carters refused to put their own money into the company to pay for anything and Spike got tired of paying them millions for a low rating.

The ideal situation would be for them to own a promotion and broadcast it a la Bellator.

But it would be cool to see ROH get a real shot at being number 2 if they got a slot on Spike. I'm not too familiar w/ their situation, but the general gist I get is that they are owned by Sinclair and that prevents it.

Honestly, I'm more interested in the pro wrestling hybrid direction they are moving in with Bellator. Although the Tito Ortiz segment w/ the masked man and Bonnar was corny and obviously scripted, if they get it right, they can steal some fans from pro wrestling in general...

I say give Bellator TNA's old slot and put all resources into that. At the end of the day, there IS a ceiling on how successful a fake fighting company can be, especially since WWE IS pro wrestling in America.

But yeah, if you can't get ROH, focus on the new pro wrestling hybrid direction of Bellator.
