Soulblazed
Eccentric Enigma
I actually like this idea in a way. Unlike Ryback, Rusev has a legit Muay Thai background and looks like a shoot fighter. Losing to Cena multiple times has kind of watered him down a bit but they can build him back up by pairing him with Heyman and having him destroy everyone in his way. Imagine Heyman and Lana on the mic, it would be interesting to say the least. Heyman continuing to treat Lesnar as his primary client when he shows up could eventually sow the seeds for a feud down the line and eventually they could have a highly physical match at a PPV like Extreme Rules or Summerslam. Simply being in a match with the beast could do wonders for Rusev's career.
I'm glad you brought up the fact that Rusev is legit trained in Muay Thai. Rusev is also trained in Sambo and Sumo, as well. I think that a Rusev vs Lesnar match could be huge if done right..The scenario I have in mind also involves Lana reuniting with Rusev.
I see it like this-The feud could be built around the spirit of pure competition with vignettes showing both Rusev and Lesnar training week in/week out while Heyman & Lana would've handled the mic work on Raw. When their match happens, neither Rusev nor Lesnar should hold back. That would mean Lesnar would be using body/head/body punch combos on Rusev, ground & pound, the Brock Lock submission hold, etc, while Rusev would be using Muay Thai elbow/knee/kick/punch combos, Sumo strikes and throws, along with Sambo throws and submission holds as well. In the end, I could see Rusev using this Sambo neck crank to make Lesnar tap out-(the video's muted but goto 2:10 to see the neck crank submission move I was talking about, also the Sambo-style Kimura shown in the video would make another good addition to Rusev's move-set)https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZ1_zU5xxUs
As far as Rusev's future in the WWE is concerned, I hope he doesn't end up jobbing and getting "Kozloved"..He's too good to be Kozloved..Maybe "WWE Creative" will end up building Rusev back into a successful monster who doesn't get jobbed out in his own specialty match (Russian Chain Match), I Quit Match, etc but instead wins matches consistently and ends up as the WWE Champion...Wishful thinking I know, but that's what I'm hoping happens to Rusev in the long run.
