I Like TNA

I really do. They have been putting on a fairly good television show on Thursday nights. I would say that the turning point would be "The Whole F'N Show" special edition of iMPACT! Some where around that time, it just started coming together as a television show for me. Then when they rolled out ReAction!, along with the new backstage view that they have been giving fans, it's been a very enjoyable show for me.

I'm reading about this and that, and hearing rants by dudes that no one cares about at all like Kevin Kelly and other D level wrestling journalists picking it apart and just finding things to be mad at. What made the attitude era so great? What they did in wrestling had never been done before. TNA is trying to do something completely different in wrestling. The backstage view, the shoot style promos and interviews, working the internet, endless swerves, etc. You NEVER know what's going to happen in TNA.

Its different, and I think its better. I am having fun watching wrestling, which is rare for me, but I like it.

What I like:

"They"
Fortune
Dixie getting swerved
Kurt Angle's storyline (the one where we ALLLL thought he would win the title)
The Knockouts Division
Reaction
The backstage views
The promos
The Tag Team division

Simple question....do you like TNA?

I'm a little distressed at the moment about how like 80% of the roster is heel right now. I'm not exactly sure how they are going to pull this off. Regardless of this slight issue I have ZI am absolutely obsessed with TNA. I used to say the same for WWE but I haven't even turned on any WWE program in over a year and a half now. TNA is the company of the future bar none in my opinion. Everything they do is hands down better than WWE. The tag team division, knockouts, X-division, TV14, etc.. All aspects of TNA are much more well down and overall create a far superior product.

I just like how they realized that in 2010 wrestling is no longer about WRESTLING! Fans have evolved. Matches are for PPV's. We need storylines. We need drama. We need issues. We need television. TNA seems to be understanding that to draw in new fans to wrestling, you ironically need LESS wrestling.

You don't need scripted matches, they don't mean anything. Then you have the complaints of who looks weak and what not. We need characters and storylines.

No I don't like TNA to answer your question,I use to watch them along with WWE but after the Garbage they pulled on their PPV this Past Sunday I can't sit through their Show anymore for 2 Hours and here a few reasons why I can't watch TNA anymore:

Hogan/Bischoff-Do I need to explain this other than I don't want to see them shoved down my throat like they were WCW.

Hiring Every Former WWE Guy/Diva who got Relased and Burying the Original Guys like AJ Styles,Samoa Joe,Beer Money, etc. What did they do to deserve that?

Womens Title-Wow had Meaningless is that Title with all the Title swaps they have done lately with it?

ECW Guys-Nothing against those guys but they need to Retire and had no business winning that Match on Sunday night. Why is Tommy Dreamer pinning AJ Styles in 2010?

Abyss-Can't stand that guy and he does nothing for me

Jeff Hardy as World Champion-Really? Someone who could face Jail Time is your Champion? Nice job on that one.

I could go on forever but those are just a couple things and why I can't sit through TNA anymore for a 2 Hrs anymore. Yeah you knock WWE for being PG if you want but at least they know what they are doing. This is my opinion and my opnion only so don't take it to heart TNA Fanboys.

I agree with this. wrestling is a soap opera.

Hardy as champion. he is money, literally. he sells more than anyone else.

I am a die hard "WWF" fan, yea I still call it WWF I been watching there programing for literally 20 years and for the last 5 years the "WWE" has sucked about 50% of that time realistically ..

I am having more fun watching Impact tonight then I have in a long time watching raw/smackdown .. the roster is sick , bash hogan, flair , nash , ect all you want , I still love seeing them doing what they do , Angle , hardy , rvd , ect are among my favs in the last decade ,

love the shoot interviews
knockouts are 100% times better then divas
camera angle are cool but makes it look too much like a tv drama and not TNA

TNA got a good thing going , wish wwe would start being a lil more unpredictable

I don't like TNA AT ALL right now. I love TNA. One of my favourite episodes of Impact yet, and there was no wrestling for the first 75 minutes.

If WWEislife that must be one pathetic life you live.

"No I don't like TNA to answer your question,I use to watch them along with WWE but after the Garbage they pulled on their PPV this Past Sunday I can't sit through their Show anymore for 2 Hours and here a few reasons why I can't watch TNA anymore"

-HA i 'used' to watch them way back when Sunday. Wow

Hogan/Bischoff-Do I need to explain this other than I don't want to see them shoved down my throat like they were WCW.

-HA why did you watch WCW in the first place if WWE is life? You probably were just like everyone else who tuned into see all the former WWE guys, like Hulk Hogan, take over WCW. In hindsight you say you don't want Hogan and Bischoff shoved down your throat because that's the popular thing to say among WWE loving smark circles, but at the time you know you loved every minute of it. Unless you were a 6 year old obsessed with faces.

"Hiring Every Former WWE Guy/Diva who got Relased and Burying the Original Guys like AJ Styles,Samoa Joe,Beer Money, etc. What did they do to deserve that?"

This is why you watch. You love WWE and TNA is bringing ex WWE guys and girls in. Great move, they got your rating.

"Womens Title-Wow had Meaningless is that Title with all the Title swaps they have done lately with it?"

If you didn't 'get' the irony in the finish of the woman's match then you don't understand the history of wrestling. Everyone watching TNA changed the channel when Tara laid down for Madison to watch Jersey Shore and TNAs ratings went down the toilet and never recovered again. HA!

"ECW Guys-Nothing against those guys but they need to Retire and had no business winning that Match on Sunday night. Why is Tommy Dreamer pinning AJ Styles in 2010?"

Better question. Why do the loser Nexus guys in WWE have the ability to be competitive with established legends? Doesn't make any sense or cents. Makes less sense than Tommy Dreamer being on TV.

"Abyss-Can't stand that guy and he does nothing for me'

-Good point, i completely agree

"Jeff Hardy as World Champion-Really? Someone who could face Jail Time is your Champion? Nice job on that one."

What are you some kind of straight edge dork?

"I could go on forever but those are just a couple things and why I can't sit through TNA anymore for a 2 Hrs anymore. Yeah you knock WWE for being PG if you want but at least they know what they are doing. This is my opinion and my opnion only so don't take it to heart TNA Fanboys."

Yah, WWE sure knows what they are doing when it comes to business. They are dumbing down wrestling fans like you and turning off smart wrestling fans in the hope of decreasing the marketability of wrestling so to kill any competition. That way they can keep putting together awful wrestling entertainment and still make lots of money. Very intelligent business strategy, but awful wrestling product for WWE loyalist smarks with tunnel vision who have forgotten exactly what being truly entertained feels like.

I like TNA because now its unpredictable alot of people say that they don't like it because its not WWE and they say its WCW all over again but thats not really a bad thing they have a real tag team division their women can really wrestle the x division title actually gets defended because if you think about it the WWE tag US and IC title holders are paper champions because they rarely get defended except at ppvs and in my personal opinion TNA put on better matches their storys might not make sence to others but when it boils down to it its all about the action

i like watching TNA right now more than watching WWE.

And i will give you guys a different point of view, if WWE was TNA and TNA was WWE, the ratings of TNA would go down every single minute. And go down fast!

there is a lot of comparing to WCW, but that should be separated. there were 2 different times for WCW. there was WCW when it was beating WWE in ratings week after week after week after week. then there was a WCW that went out of business. IMO the 2 are different, and it's unfortunate everyone seems to join the 2 and think what Hogan/Bischoff did with WCW was what made them go out of business.
if TNA can become like WCW when it was winning the ratings battle, that would be awesome!

I've never been able to describe why I like TNA, but you summed it up. I'm having fun watching Pro Wrestling again. I used to fall asleep every Monday, and there was a point where I was going to give up watching wrestling. Then I started watching TNA around November of 2008. For a year I was on and off, but when I heard they were bringing in Hogan, I decided to give it my best shot. I'm in love with this company. And while I don't agree with EVERYTHING they do, you can't nitpick when wrestling is on a down all around right now.

The big complaint with iMPACT tonight was the fact that there wasn't a lot of wrestling. No, there wasn't. I would have liked to seen more, yes. But, this iMPACT wasn't about wrestling. It was about explaining and elaborating on the "they" storyline which, as a whole, came off great. The wrestling (what there was of it) was great too.

All night I listened to my Dad claiming that TNA was the next WCW. I would have agreed with him, until the show ended. After that, I decided something for myself. Even if TNA is inevitably the next WCW, I'll support it with everything I've got. The reason being this - I cannot stand what WWE is doing right now. I put so much money into WWE and they have turned into a cartoonish program. So to answer, yes, I like.. LOVE TNA. And unless something awful happens, they have my viewership every week.

I hate to be "this guy" Because this time a year ago I hated people who said what i'm about to.

TNA imo, is boring as hell. Ever since they failed at "Monday Night Wars II" I've been losing interest. Now I dunno if i'm even going to keep watching. People are listing things they like and what they don't like about TNA right now, i'll list mine.

Good things from 10/14 iMPACT:
Angle Segment
Parts of the opening promo
Mickie James

Bad things:
Hogan and Flair joining the groups into a 12 man(more/less) group that imo is going to be TOO FREAKIN BIG.
I saw two matches. I turned it as soon as Joe/Abyss ended in DQ, honestly couldn't stand anymore. The other wasn't even a match.
People like AJ and Joe being on the back burner. Joe got a little video promo, ok....that's more then AJ got. Guess what, AJ carried the company for years, pay him back for it.
Jersey Shore. No comment.
Too much spotlight on Hogan/Bishoff/Flair. I know, i'm sounding like a broken record, but I really can't stress enough how much I hate them taking all the promo time from the younger guys, annoys me to no end.

Thoughts on why others said they liked TNA:
Backstage segments - Over the screaming crowd that really needs to shut up, I can barely hear them.
"We want drama save the wrestling for PPVs" - If you want to go watch a full-fledged soap opera, please do...I want Pro WRESTLING to have some wrestling.

Wow, I just read over that and I sound like so much of a TNA hater...I hate that I do, I want TNA to do good because that would boost WWE's product too...but until I hear of some changes, I just can't stand it right now, and this is coming from somebody who around this time last year liked TNA more then WWE. :wtf::banghead:

i totally 100% agree with this statement. However I would use the word Revolve instead of evolve. Storylines should be built on television programming and save the big matchups for the pay per view. It creates a proper build and anticipation for the pay per view. I have been a wrestling fan since Wrestlemania 4 and TNA Impact tonight reminded me of happy times in past era's. What happened in the Boom period of the 80's?..........squash matches and storylines on Prime Time Wrestling leading to matches only seen on pay per view. And how about the Attitude Era of the late 90's?..........storylines dominated Raw and Nitro leading to Pay Per Views... So yes TNA finally has something right...pull various types of fans in with character and storyline development and save the payoff for the Pay Per View.

Kudos to Sunneeboy and to TNA!~

I'm a little distressed at the moment about how like 80% of the roster is heel right now. I'm not exactly sure how they are going to pull this off.

Because they have Pope, Anderson, RVD and Joe who are built as the main faces now. Pope being more of a main eventer.

You have Machine Guns who will probably feud with Beer Money. Joe can face AJ for the TV title.

They have alot of ways to pull it off correctly.

Let's be completely honest: If WCW, circa 1996-1998, was going against today's version of the WWE, then it would have been the WWE that was out of business because the current McMahon production absolutely fucking blows outside of the Miz, CM Punk and JoMo.

People can complain all they want about TNA reminding people of WCW, but let's be quite honest here: WCW Nitro drew between a 2.0 and a 3.0, even in their dying days and had a lengthy time period where they were THE dominant promotion on the planet.

If TNA becomes the new WCW, then it is a freaking fantastic turn of events. I don't care what the whiny, bitchy, 35 year olds living in their parents' basement IWC wants to say, a new WCW is FUCKING FANTASTIC.

One more thing: Hogan/Bischoff didn't kill WCW. Jamie 'Asshole' Kellner (AOL-Time Warner executive) cancelled Nitro when Bischoff was buying the company because he felt wrestling was below his networks and THAT'S what killed WCW. The last Nitro drew a 3.0 rating, so let's be honest: WCW was very popular before the rug was pulled out.

So if you're remotely unhappy with wrestling right now, WATCH TNA! That gives us competition and a legitimate reason for both companies to keep their feet on the pedal. Otherwise, shut the hell up and enjoy the show.

Rant over. Long live the Anti-Christ, Jeff Hardy!

i am not huge on tna ima wwe fan but after watching impact tonite wooow they are really getting better, vince u better not take this company lightly, alot of ppl say its full of wwe rejects but look at the rejects

jeff hardy
hogan
flair
kurt angle
jeff jarrett
mr.anderson
rvd
sting
kevin nash
all legends
and than look at all the young guys they got, right now the 'THEY" storyline is probably the best storyline happening in prowrestling, it was nexus but wwe somehow ended up killing that storyline but now trying to save it by having cena join it

this is one of the best things I have read here and agree 100%.
too many people only know WCW as a wrestling company that went out of business and I guess don't care to know why or what happened before that. wikipedia WCW and nWo, do some reading.

AJ carried TNA for awhile and guess what, a lot of wrestling fans still don't know who he is. I agree that he should not be down on the mid card, but I also think he doesn't need to be champion right now. there are probably hard core WWE fans that either have never seen or rarely seen TNA that wouldn't even know who AJ Styles is. maybe TNA needs to do a better job at marketing.

while I don't yet like the Shore part, TNA is still trying to bring in additional fans. although have to wonder why TNA would intentionally put the Shore on at the same time as the Jersey Shore.

an actual soap opera that is on during the day caters to females. maybe I shouldn't say "soap opera", wrestling is more like a drama show you see on primetime TV.

How about we not pretend one big rating leap (because it was the last show) equated the entire run? WCW had its ratings decrease heavily from when Vince Russo joined till March 2001 because of a variety of circumstances, some out of the control of Russo and Bischoff, some because of their actions.

I've liked Tna almost from the start! But Right now I absolutely Love it! It's the most interesting Pro Wrestling Show I've Seen since the Attitude Era! Alot of Intriging storylines going on. Real issues being turned into storylines which is terrific IMO!

Once again you Fans that love in ring work rate just wait until next week! Tna does a great job of Balancing the stories and the Matches. This week was the stories and next week will be about the wrestling!

Attitude Era Lives Baby !!!! And I love It!

While I did mention that Nitro drew between a 2.0 and 3.0 down the stretch, you're right that they decreased in ratings during the final year. But even a 2.05 is a highly rated product.....

If TNA draws a 2.05 in just one week in the next couple months, this place will be BUZZING because that's the threshold of becoming serious competition to the WWE. I'm eagerly awaiting the ratings from last night's show considering that the last 2 Impacts have been a 1.2 and 1.35 (highest Thursday rating ever BTW) and the BFG events were huge news. I think TNA could legitimately pull a 1.4 or 1.5 this week.

Ive been loving it of late the WWE has been so bland and repetitive lately that its so refreshing to see good edgy wrestling orientated television.
