I won't red rep you. However, saying that UB40's overrated is simply false (I respect the fact that you don't like their music). They have been extremely influential in the ska and reggae genres, yet they receive little outright recognition for their contributions. If anything, they are underrated.

Don't get me wrong, I like their music. It's good stuff. And I know how much they have influnced those genres.
But in Europe, those guys are considered legends, which I think is a bit far.
The term legend should only be for, at most 15 artists in modern music in my opinion.
They should be held in high regard, respected greatly... But I've never seen them as groundbreaking, just very very good at what they do.

They're named after the dole form, which is pretty cool. However, I was under the impression that they wrote hardly any of their hits, and just covered 1950's songs. This is definitely true of all of their number ones.

UB40 are awesome. Seeing them live was a great experience. Got most of their 80's records on vinyl.
