Cody Rhodes is an excellant
So roughly about 23 hours ago (as of the time this post was made), a writer for the main site named Chris Fitzpatrick, better known to us as IrishCanadian25, wrote and posted and article on the main page entitled "Ok, I Feel Guilty Now...", I noticed the link flash by as I was waiting for the page to finish loading, it peaked my curiosity so I clicked on it and read it, and it was pretty well done, he makes a lot a very solid points, and summarized up his love for Chris Jericho nicely as well his pity for the tragedy that Chris Benoit became as a result of the punishment.
I think his article does an amazing job to making us fans think about what we ask of our favorite wrestlers, and if it's too much, just as an example over the last 7 yrs. Rock has been away from the world of wrestling for the most part, making a career for himself as a actor, I can't even count how many times I've seen posters jump all over the Rock for going to a different career path, and how he owes us everything, and I can't count how many times I've gone into threads like that to point out that the Rock doesn't owe us shit, that he already gave us more than enough great moments and memories to last a life time. We as wrestling fans can sometimes forget just how selfish we can be, Rock choose to take a new career path one that wouldn't take nearly as much of a toll on his body, or his mind. Now just think what if Benoit had decided to take a similar career path, obviously I'm not saying Benoit would have had the same movie career as Rock, but he might still be with us, his kid and wife might still be alive, his family wouldn't have had to suffer through what he did, and his legacy would still be alive and strong today, WWE would actually acknowledge him for the great wrestler that he was, was would we as fans, of course on the other hand alot of the good that came as a result wouldn't have happened, by that I mean WWE may not have the same substance abuse policy in tack, or the ban on chair shots to the head, etc. Basically what I was trying to get at before my post just turned it me rambling on was that so often we forget that wrestlers are just human beings, and we need to remember that, it's ok to root for them, to be entertained by the promo's and wrestling they do in the ring, that's why they do it, but when they decide to move on to something else I think we need to thank them for years, months, days, whatever amount of time they spent putting their body on the line to entertain us in that ring, and we should wish them luck & support them on whatever new career opportunities they go onto after wrestling.
Wow, honestly didn't mean to make such a long rambling post on this, all I really wanted to do was tell you to go read IC's article.
