HULK HOGAN SPOILS STING'S DEBUT?

For those who havent seen it Hulk Hogan just did an interview and was asked about the andre battle royal and said this:

"Right now the Big Show or Big E. Langston have a good chance to win it. But if something crazy happens like Sting or Ultimate Warrior show up, anything could happen."

Now take note that this is the first time a current employed WWE person has actually mentioned Sting in any build up to WM30 AT ALL.

Personally I think this all but confirms that Sting is going to make some sort of an appearance at WM30 or RAW the night after, it makes no sense of hulk hogan to even mention Sting if he didn't know anything, of course he mentions warrior because of the HOF induction but why Sting? Is this proof?

Has Hogan slightly spoiled the Stingers WWE debut?

Your Thoughts?

Nah. If, and only if, Sting shows up, it'll be in a non-wrestling capacity at Mania. Are they really going to give his WWE debut away unadvertised in a meaningless battle royal? No chance.

Ultimate Warrior being involved though, I could see that and I think most people would be down with it.

Means nothing. Hulk is just tickling your underbelly. It will probably get the equivalent of 18 people to order the Network or PPV. Hogan is not in a booking, talent, or creative position. Don't get your hopes up or you are likely to be calling WWE a liar once the match is over.

While I suppose it's always possible, albeit EXTREMELY unlikely, it's hard to take anything Hulk Hogan says seriously. He's spent too many years making over the top, grandiose statements and heavily exaggerating certain aspects of his career. For instance, I remember watching an old special on the Biography Channel in which Hogan was talking about his match with Andre at WrestleMania III. He said that Andre weighed more like 700 lbs rather than 520 and that he severely tore his right lat muscle when slamming him; it was complete bullshit as Andre was NEVER that heavy. Also, if he'd torn his lat, not only would he have required major surgery and months of rehab but he wouldn't have been able to do his usual 10 minutes of post match posing.

While it's nice to see him promoting something besides himself, for a change, the guy really is something of a huckster who craves the spotlight in any way he can get it. Hinting that Sting may show up gives Sting some of the spotlight, but Hogan's still there also since he's the one dropping the hints.

I'd love if sting did wrestle a match even just some shitty match where 3MB just job out to sting just so all the ass hole members of the IWC(not the whole lot just the fuckheads) who tried to be all high and mighty and didn't buy the PPV missed Sting's debut

I just look at this as Hogan being accidentally brilliant. Now some of us might buy Wrestlemania XXX for the sole purpose of believing that Sting will be there.

I don't think that any actual plans to have Sting at Wrestlemania would have changed Hulk's answers for this Q&A. I think that Hogan over time has associated Sting and Warrior with each other and in being asked a question relating to a match that's dedicated to Andre close to an event where Warrior will be inducted to the HOF he just blurted Sting's name out. Occam's razor people.

Not that Hogan isn't beyond spilling spoilers for literally no fucking reason. I recall when Hogan was on the Bubba the Sperm Sponge's radio show and tricked Vince's secretary into thinking that she was on a secure line while on the phone with Hogan. Hogan deliberately aired the eventual Hall of Fame Inductees for (I think) 2007 over the airwaves for apparently no fucking reason.

I don't expect to see Sting at Wrestlemania XXX, Hogan supposedly spoiling the event isn't enough to keep me from being surprised if it does actually happen.

If sting made his return in a battle royal designed to give wrestlers with no storyline a quick payday on the wrestlemania card, id lose all hope. Any sting appearance should be in a non physical capacity directly related to undertaker. If not, I see no point.

Well 3 spots left....STING's going to be there in NEW ORLEANS..Anything can happen...But i strongly feel that STINGER is going to show up in some fashion at WM 30...

Hogan is someone who i dearly love and respect. But he is also someone, who bends the truth to a different universe. I watched the Voice Versus, not sure if you are all aware of that show, but anyway Hogan was a guest on there. He said they had to take Andre to some sort of freight scale or something and it said he weighed like 645 pounds or something.

I also dont think he tore his lat muscle,it be impossible for his posing and would indeed require several months off. IN which back then,if you didnt defend your title within 30 days you would be stripped. Maybe he strained his lat muscle, but definitely didnt tear it. So hogan saying sting will return at WM i take it with a grain of salt, not out of the realm of possibility but i highly doubt it

I think it is a definite possibility that Sting shows up at Wrestlemania 30 in some capacity, but there's absolutely no way that his debut in WWE, if it were to happen, would be in a throw away 30 man battle royal. For something that has been talked and speculated about for so long, which he has resisted for so long, I simply cannot see it eventually happening in such a lacklustre manner.

I have no idea if Sting will be in the house this Sunday. However I do feel it is now or never. If it does not happen this time, it's never happening. And if it does, it will be in some capacity far more dramatic than the battle royal, no matter whose name is associated with it.

As far as Hogan spoiling anything, I doubt he would even know. IF it is happening, I would imagine a very select few will know about it until the absolute last minute. And I'm not so sure that Hogan, despite what his ego may lead him to believe, is a member of the elite inner sanctum of the WWE who would be privy to such news in the first place. Personally I think this was just Hogan being Hogan, name dropping to stir the pot and create a buzz, nothing more, nothing less.

I don't think so. Hogan's just trying to drum up a few extra buys (or network subscriptions) for what, let's be honest, is a rather lacklustre card. Apart from 'Taker/Lesnar and HHH/Bryan nothing else of interest on the show for me. I would like to believe that Sting would be introduced with vignettes and such and not just be thrown out there for shock value, but then again you never know with WWE

I wouldn't be shocked actually if Sting was in the Battle Royal but I wouldn't be happy either. Sting in the WWE would be a big thing to have his debut to be in a random Battle Royal especially one dedicated to a guy who he has no association with is just plain stupid. Do I think chances for seeing Sting on the Post WM Raw or even WM are good than yeah, they are.

Sting has said it himself that he just cares to work with the Undertaker now and really no one else. So I could see them doing a year long build like they did for Cena/Rock with Sting calling out UT post WM. Then I think Sting has a hectic year ahead of him because he'll have to get in better condition and shape to have a dream match especially at WM. He should have a match at each of the big four PPV's with a match against Bray Wyatt next RR/Summerslam and perhaps Randy Orton at the remainder of RR/Summerslam and than finally Kane as his last obstical and practice match before facing the Undertaker at WM. This way Sting gets some credible wins and helps out a huge future heel and gets rid of ring rust/gets better in the ring before having perhaps one of the biggest matches of his career.

Is this Battle Royal really the appropriate place for this level of a debut?

This isn't the Royal Rumble where the energy is high and the next guy to come out can get a huge pop. This is an undercard match where they may not even have time for ring announcements. Hogan was just selling the "anything can happen" schtick of professional wrestling.

How come we aren't making threads that Hogan spoiled Warrior's in ring return?

I don't think Sting will be in the Battle Royal, but I would like to see him at wrestlemania 30 in some way. Then again he is doing an autograph signing at wrestlecon from 10:30-1:30 and talent should be in the Superdome no later than 1 pm. For Sting they could make an exception if they really want to surprise people.

i stAND BY my other posts on how i want to see sting booked, but it would be cool to see backstage at mania a random trenchcoated arm reaching down and simply picking up a black baseball ball that would be acceptable for me as a sting spoiler. until after the undertaker match where the mind games start to play. other then that i believe warrior could be in the battle royal as the only man to actually have faced andre the giant. very nice touch. as much as i love warrior, not sure if id have him win it just for the simple fact that from my understanding andre jobbed out to him but didnt really care for him

Here's the thing. Sting will be at WM, no doubt about it.

One reason is Hogan mentioned Sting in an interview. It's Hogan he lies, so this one doesn't really have any volume in it.

Warrior on the other hand mentioned during his Raw package that Sting taught him everything.

Sting has been mentioned twice in one week. I'm sure Sting will be at WM in some way.

Nah. You have to take anything Hogan says with about a tablespoon of salt. He talks even when there is no chance of it being true. He knows Sting is done with TNA, he knows the fans want to see him in wwe so he named dropped. I wouldn't give it a second thought even if Sting shows at Mania. Chances are Hogan is in the dark anyways.

Hogan's just being Hogan. He likes to convince people into believing he's the mastermind behind this whole industry; when in reality it's Vince, and Hogan was nothing more than one of Vince's many Superstars who helped him shape this industry into what it is today.

Hogan's nothing more than a washed up, disgusting old man who's hanging on for dear life in relevancy at this point.

How come we aren't making threads that Hogan spoiled Warrior's in ring return?

This wouldn't be Warrior's debut with the WWE you silly goose, an in ring return wouldn't be nearly as buzz worthy as an against the odds debut.

If Warrior can't return as the heaving mass of steroid side-effect insanity that he was when he left the second time, then his in ring return will be spoiled by reality when he can't even charge to the ring anymore. Announcing that it's about to happen would be just as exciting as announcing that Nintendo is going to start marketing decks of cards again.

No, he didn't spoil anything... If anything, he just hyped the match up and built more interest with that one line, than anyone has done so far. Of course, it is highly unlikely that anyone outside of the active roster will take part in the match, but we will be anxious to see, even if in our subconscious mind alone, whether Sting or Ultimate Warrior is gonna show up after all.

Hell naw. If anything, this confirms Sting WON'T be on the show. Hulk Hogan, if he had access to that kind of information, wouldn't spoil it like that. He's throwing it out there to generate interest, that's all. Just like Austin saying Punk will return at Mania. Don't read too much into it.

I think he's just trying to make the battle royal more important to the casual fans who don't care about it.

I doubt Sting will show up. It's too much going on - Brock/Taker, Stone Cold, Hogan, Bryan/HHH/Orton/Batista, Cena/Wyatt. I don't see you could fit Sting on there without him being overlooked.
