How would you take advantage?

Ok so with a NFL lockout looking probable right now my question is how do you think this will impact WWE? Clearly the NFL takes away viewership as can be seen by Raw ratings during some great MNF games (even though the saints winning sucked) and I'm sure PPV buys are hurt as well by football sundays. How do you think WWE will take advantage of this situation and how would you? Do you think they will incorporate some NFL players? A lot of players are fans and it is a way for them to get paychecks, stay relevant, and stay in shape while having fun. It seems like its a great time for WWE to take advantage of the hole that will be left and market itself as a brand loyal to its fans who never takes a break let alone a lock out. Or do you think WWE will get lazy and coast with another lack of competition? I think its safe to assume TNA will use some players as they've already done so with Pacman. Haha and the wildcard of course is vince throwing the XFL back together to fill the void lol

Honestly man I see maybe a big name player per city will be the guest host. IE. At a home show in Connecticut, Tom Brady just might be the guest host.

The best way to take advantage would be to keep putting out a product that is fun to watch, and let the "wrestlers" be wrestlers and the "sports entertainers" entertain. DB is best in the ring, no need to let him talk, Miz is golden on the mic. That's why it's working. They're letting people shine in the right places. Morrison's doing something right. Sheamus has something to prove. And it seems like the old guard is stepping away and giving these new guys their time to shine. I like it.

I agree with you, although on a tangent here I really believe they need to go back to having managers as moutpieces for the guys who can wrestle but not speak. That is the missing link in my opinion. Things are going well, but I feel like this is a good opportunity for the WWE to step up since it will have a wider fanbase with football gone. Maybe they can have another NFL/WWE battle royale at Wrestlemania or something like that as well. Vince is a media ****e and with players not working next year it would be a great time to get some mentions on ESPN and other news networks.

I think Vince will use some football players if they can contractually. I can easily see some kind of NFL presence in something like The Royal Rumble... or maybe even a Survivor Series team.

The best thing Vince can do is put out consitantly good shows... so that NFL fans get hooked... it wouldn't hurt to throw some money at someone like The Rock either to pique interest.
