How would you book Mr McMahons last run?

rge2010

Mid-Card Championship Winner
Vince has made sporadic appearences over the last year but I feel his Mr McMahon character needs just one last run before he calls it a day. I dont want to see him as an owner, I dont want to see him as a GM, I would love to see Vince return just one last time and lead/manage a stable to take over WWE. I really think that when the Nexus storyline ends there will be room for such a story.

Some of my fondest WWE memories were when Vince lead The Corporation and the McMahon/Helmsley regime after Wrestlemania 2000 when he turned on the Rock. Ok, my idea has being done before but it was good TV and lets be honest, WWE run similar storylines all the time. How many times we seen nWo and D-X. I really think there is underused talent that could really prosper from working along Vince so here is my IDEAL idea.

The rumours are The Rock and John Cena are going to clash at Summerslam, YES The Rock has said he doesn't want to wrestle a match but as we all know anything is possible in WWE. For the sake of my idea lets say they get it on. In short Vince McMahon screws The Rock and John Cena wins. He cites John Cena as the company guy and beating a legend like The Rock is "good for business". It doesnt make The Rock look weak losing in this fashion. Cena turns heel and alligns himself with Vince McMahon in order to gain extra heat.

Vince states he wants his "power back" and starts to recruit to his group "The McMahon Family". He disowns his own family of Linda (too busy with her run for Senate), Shane (walked out on WWE) and Stephanie (Ungreatful and spoilt). Vince is apparently a big fan of Skip Sheffield, this could be his second chance at getting over as a big bad ass. He would be the enforcer. It would also make sense for "The Chosen One" Drew McIntyre to join the group. Finally we see Ted Dibiase who is another one who could do with a push. And of course, McMahon loves to have a lady on his arm, usually Blonde so I will go with Michelle McCool.

The McMahon Family:
  • Vince McMahon - Manager
  • John Cena
  • Skip Sheffield
  • Drew McIntyre
  • Ted Dibiase
  • Michelle McCool
Over the coming months they fued with Orton, Triple H (if he still around) Morrison. Cena wins the WWE Title, Sheffield wins the US Title and Drew and Ted win the Tag Titles. Cena is a dominant Champion ALL the way through until Elimination Chamber (4/5 months). The Rock returns and costs him the gold setting up the re-match at WM28 - Miami Florida. The Rock goes over this time and The McMahon Family is finished. Vince inadvertently costs Cena the match. The Rock celebrates as Cena gives Vince the AA. Vince is in the middle of the ring and Cena walks away and leaves him. A Peoples Elbow later and Vince is done.

That is how I would book Mr McMahons last run in WWE.

Something with Steve Austin. Here's what I would do. Night after Wrestlemania Vince comes out and talks about how much of a success Wrestlemania was because of The Rock and that he just now realized that Rock is the top star from the Attitude Era not Steve Austin. So Steve's services are no longer required and The Rock will be taking his place as a coach on Tough Enough. This would require Rock to take some time off from movies but if he meant what he said about not leaving again I don't see this as an issue anyway. So the first night of tough enough while the cameras are rolling Rock is verbally berating the contestants instead of actually helping them Austin shows up and kicks his ass and Booker has to seperate them. Austin is restrained by security and escorted out of the building. Vince comes out and says Austin is banned from future WWE events. Till a few weeks before Summerslam when Vince claims the ratings are down and blames the Rock. He begs Austin to come back and tells him if he does he will get a one on one match with The Rock at Summerslam. Austin waits till the final Smackdown before the ppv as the storyline has carried over to both McMahon and Rock cutting promos on Austin on both brands now and at the end of the episode while Rock is in the middle of a match with Santino, Austin's music hits Rock is distracted and Santino rolls him up for the three count. Right before the match at Summerslam Vince comes out and announces it as No DQ. Rock wins with help from HHH who moments later Pedigrees Rock and Vince tells him he can only trust his family and Rock let him down by letting the ratings slip and that he just didn't think Rock was electrifying enough anymore. The next ppv is Night of Champions and Rock badly wants Vince in the ring but Vince insists you must be a champion and refuses to give Rock a title shot against The Miz (who is still WWE Champion) so Rock confronts Daniel Bryan backstage and asks for a US title shot. Bryan says sure and Rock wins the title then tells Vince he wants to defend his US title against Vince at Night of Champions. During the match the ref gets knocked down and Rock could have won multiple times but there was no official to count. Austin comes down and to everyone's delight gives McMahon a Stunner. He helps Rock to his feet spends a few moments acting like he is setting up a plan with him then gives Rock a Stunner too. The crowd boos Austin and McMahon places an arm over him and wins the US title. The next night on Raw The Rock helps Daniel Bryan get his title back from Vince by taking out HHH who tried to interfere and distracting Vince. Bryan applied the Labell Lock and Vince tapped imediately. Vince stayed out of action and made both mens life hell from his home computer ( he has since been revealed as the Raw GM) he made HHH the WWE Champion and multiple times the Rock and Austin's hatred for each other caused them both to lose. At the Royal Rumble its down to three men Austin, Rock, and Miz. Austin throws Miz over the top rope thinking he eliminated him. Miz is still in though. Austin hits a Stunner on Rock. Then Miz hits a SKF on Austin while his back is turned. He lifts Rock up and tosses him over to the floor. Then he tosses over Austin but he lands on the apron. Vince comes through the crowd and pulls his feet out from under him causing him to be eliminated and Miz to win the RR. This leads to Vince challenging Austin to a Street Fight at Mani which Austin wins in a bloody battle. The next night Vince announces his retirement which is the biggest retirement celebration ever trumping HBK's and Flair's. Ends with a beer bash with Austin and no Stunner this time cause they had their closure the night before at Mania.

Quite a simple one where some groundwork has already been done.

"Next thing you'll be telling me Daniel Bryan is US champ" uttered Vince

Vinces reasoning is that Bryan is not a star and tries for many weeks to get the US title off Bryan. Vince throws Mark Henry, Sheamus, Ted Dibiase and Nexus members at Bryan week after week. By hook or crook Daniel manages to retain against them all.

Vince declares if nobody else can get the title off him then he'll do it himself. Culminating at Summerslam, Bryan gets a one on one match with Vince, no DQ, in which Daniel manages to retain despite intereference from Mark Henry.

Daniel would carry Vince to a great match, and imagine the oooh's from the crowd as those kicks connect with Vinces head. Danielson emerges a star after making the boss tap out to the Labell Lock.

Honestly, I'd like to see him go full circle. He's been corporate. Then heel. Then crazy/funny. Then a good guy. Then an asshole/corporate guy. I think his last run should entail all of it.

Starts out with him saying that he needs to right the ship. He wants to see stars. He wants them young and he wants them NOW. (This entails the corporate/crazed aspect to an extent.)

Then, someone like Daniel Bryan wants to be one of those stars. He would prefer someone like Drew McIntyre. Vince says that Daniel will never be at the top of the company so long as he is around. This incorporates the heel aspect. So, these two are pitted against each other.

Drew is helped by McMahon to win in matches on a couple of occasions and Vince loves it. He chose him in the beginning. Finally, Bryan asks for one final chance. Vince says "hell no." Bryan says if he gets one more chance, he'll risk his career. Vince finally agrees. However, Daniel says that if he puts his career up, he needs a great offer. He wants Vince to put his career on the line as well.

Vince says he won't do it, but Drew convinces him to do it, simply because Daniel continues to goad him into the match. In the match, Daniel puts up one hell of a fight, but Drew cheats in order to win and ruins a great, 30-35 minute match. Vince seems enthused, but he grabs a microphone and sees that Daniel is the type of guy that he would want to be at the top of the company. A fighter. Valiant and young. He says that the match can't end that way.

He watches from ringside and says the match will be restarted with the same stipulations on the line. The match is restarted and Daniel wins. Vince walks into the ring and shakes Bryans hand, then walks away from the business. Symbolizing that he's really looking out for the business.

Doesn't exactly have to be Daniel Bryan, or even Drew. Though, Drew makes sense as the heel with the "Chosen One" tag. Still, I think this would let Vince go out a loser, which is the right thing to do, but still on a high note.

first of all he needs to screw half the roster, then be screwed out of wwe by hhh and stephanie leading to a face turn for vince and a heel turn for steph and hhh

he then goes on a path of redemption by making right the wrongs of the people he screwed over culminating with the reconcilation with stephanie and the passing of his torch and company to them

leave shane out of it for his inevitable return anf feus with steph/hhh

first of all he needs to screw half the roster

dude I'm not sure if a guy as old as Vince could get it up enough times to screw half the roster.

anyway,

Vince's last booking should either be with one of the TOP stars of the WWE (and there's only a few of those in my opinion... Cena, Taker, HHH, Orton, maybe Edge) or to put someone so over that they instantly become a main-event FACE. Like Morrison or Bryan. I think it would be wasted on anyone else.

Honestly, I think it would make for a great story if at Undertakers last WM (assuming it's not this one) it's Taker v. Vince after months of Vince screwing with the Undertaker.

Vince should go out the same way the character was born.

The most hated son of a bitch walking the planet! When he screwed Bret Hart, the Mr. McMahon character was born, I'm not saying he has to go out and screw anybody out of their job and income, but he needs to do one last storyline that will make people think, "WTF!"

I echo the line he said about Danielson, "Next thing you'll tell me Daniel Bryan is US Champion" is a line from that promo I won't forget, and I always wonder why he said it.

That wouldn't be a bad feud. The Indy Star Vs Mr. McMahon. People need to realize Vince is what makes the indy feds, just that, independant. Because people don't have the power to break through and make a name for themselves as a wrestling promotion unless they're TNA or ROH.

But I don't see how that "feud", could work. I mean, hypothetically, how would they even book it to make it work? It'd be something that would take a while to come up with to make sure it all clicks.

But however Vince goes out, he should go out the hated, because at the end of the day everyone knows Vince is the guy that has made nearly everything in wrestling. Without Vince McMahon, this site arguebly wouldn't exist.

Does he need to have a last run? The one with Bret last year seemed to be as good a place as any to put the McMahon 'character' to bed as it ended with Bret getting the victory and going some way to avenge the Screwjob incident.

However with the talk of HHH getting ready to take over the reins, it would be good if they feuded for the control and future of the company; let McMahon play to type and enlist the bigger guys and let HHH lead the smaller/technical guys. If something along those lines were to happen then it would need to be kept going for a solid year and not fizzle out like The Nexus/Corre.

The Mr. McMahon character has the potential to create stars, and as much as some of the aforementioned ideas were good, there's one in particular I want to see....

Vince McMahon vs. Santino Marella

I think Santino is good enough in the ring and on the mic where if he shed his doofy character he could become a pretty decent star. I'd have McMahon constantly messing with him and slowly start chipping away the goofy things about his character and turn Santino into badass.

I like your idea, but before making that stable, you have to remember a couple of things:

-Skip Sheffield needs to make a name of himself. Who the hell is this guy? Exactly. Before he can work with the likes of John Cena, he has to prove he is top-notch.

-Same goes for McIntyre and DiBiase. I think more on DiBiase, though, as McIntyre is a former tag team/IC champion and obviously a future World champion. DiBiase has the look, and the skills, he just needs the right persona and push.

Also, I'd like to see Ted DiBiase have a title reign. I mean this guy looks good, he has decent in ring abilities, and he is just being wasted.

So, I like where you're going with this idea.

The OP musta just watched Bobby Heenan's latest DVD..i've never heard of such a stupid way to book Vince's last run. The McMahon family..lol..The Heenan Family doesn't need to be recreated..

Vince's angle with Bret was the logical way to finish off the "Mr McMahon" chararcter.
Having an angle with him and Triple H fighting for control over the company would also
be a good way to phase him out but with no actual match. Mr McMahon is way too old
to be fighting, he's older than Ric Flair for god sake.

Someone said it in an earlier post, something about him feuding with DBD. That would actually be pretty awesome if its played out right. It could get DBD some good exposure and elevate him to the next level. Maybe after wrestlemania this could happen, and end at SummerSlam.

But another question though. Does Vince really need to return to the ring. I dont think so, as he said the Mr. McMahon character was done and his last match was with Bret Hart at Mania last year. But if and interesting enough story line would come up to put him in, it would be pretty nice to see.

Steph and Triple H aregure over whos going to run things. The shane comes back and gets into the arguement. Then steph and HHH take over. Shane is mad and saya he still technically owns the rights to wcw and he starts it up again. This time really competing on another channel.. The return of monday night wars.

brilliant idea but what if HHH buys tna and he makes tna huge and then its tna vs wwe then outta nowhere Shane brings back wcw major superstars like orton punk nexus corre scsa go over to wcw so itS nitro vs impact vs raw and the War begins and goes for about half a year thru wrestlemania and finished up when survivor series normaly happens the rename it to apocolypse and every matchup are triple threat or a couple have special refs or an elimination chamber match as the second to last match. and the main event is a huge last man standing match at a ppv with the ceos of each company

The Card could include
Punk vs mr anderson vs kozlov
Cena vs orton vs aj styles

The Main Event
Vince vs HHH vs shane In the first ever triple threat last man standing
U guys decide the winner

Love the stable...
However if VKM wanted to make a star maybe he could have DH Smith or Teddy Hart destroy him for revenge for the Owen incident and Montreal Screwjob.

I think Mr. McMahon's last run may have already happened. The perfect way to put an end to the Mr. McMahon character was having him tap out to Bret Hart's sharpshooter at WrestleMania. The Mr. McMahon charcter was created as a result of Survivor Series 97. For 13 years he lived off that moment making things miserable for plenty of wrestlers. Bret Hart finally coming back and getting revenge was the appropriate way to put an end to Mr. McMahon.

WrestleMania 26 finally closed the book on the Montreal Screwjob. Bret himself got revenge so there is no reason Kidd or Smith would need any. There is absolutley no chance in hell they would make an angle out of Owen's accident.

Best way to do it would be to (if Rock V Cena happens at Summerslam) have Vince help turn Cena heel by screwing The Rock. And maybe start a stable . Vince, Cena, Michael Cole, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and Amazing Kong. This would be a great way to elevate midcarders like Cody and Drew. And with Drew i would definitely think about re-designing his look to have a more HHH-ish type look with leather jackets and whatnot. Have Cody be the suit wearing pretty boy lol. And with Cena alot of people talk alot bout turning him heel but how would it be like. He would definetly have to ditch the bright purple shirts with Hustle, Loyalty & Respect. What would his look be like?

Possibly the most ridiculous idea I have read this year. Why would anyone want to bring back WCW when almost none of the original WCW stars with any name value are still wrestling?

Goldberg, Page and Luger are all retired. Sting isnt coming to the WWE, Steiner is a wreck and in TNA, Hogan and Flair cant move any more.

Vince will not be buying TNA in the near future, most young WCW fans couldnt give a fuck about WCW and wouldnt know their wrestlers anyway, its been gone to long to come back now.

Vince is very unlikely to ever wrestle again anyway, Shane is gone from the WWE to do his own thing and you are basically suggesting the Invasion storyline again, but 10 years later with no actual WCW stars around, WWE having far fewer BIG names as they did in 2001, Austin coming out of retirement, filling WCW with half the WWE roster which completely takes away the point of it being called WCW, and doing all this storyline in half a year?

Utter shit

I'm split on this idea. Half of me says Mr. McMahon is dead, and buried. He and Bret Hart had probably the most legitimate feud in the history of professional wrestling, and tapping to the Sharpshooter was a perfect exit. But outside of real issues, his feud with Steve Austin is just as big, or bigger.

I would love to see Austin have one last match, against his most powerful enemy - Mr. McMahon. A Street Fight at WrestleMania, between these two, would be insane. In terms of kayfabe, Steve Austin should probably be the guy to destroy "Mr. McMahon" once and for all.

Honestly, I don't think there's any need for a "last hurrah" for Mr. McMahon. The character has gone and done absolutely everything there is to do. He's been been jeered, he's been cheered, he's been hated, he's been loved. Vince McMahon has given everything to this business, and knows full well that even he isn't bigger than WWE.

I would just give him a sendoff. Maybe work an angle where Steph and HHH are taking care of business for a while, while Vince is sort of in the background. Everything they do impresses him until there is some sort of payoff where they pull off some ultimate business deal. Vince comes out, tells them how proud he is of them, and says he knows it's time. Thanks everyone for being a part of the WWE Universe, and says it's time for him to ride off into the sunset. Give him a huge sendoff. The whole roster comes out, big celebration.

The sound of glass breaking hits, and Stone Cold comes out. Everyone goes quiet. Looks McMahon dead in the eye, and gives him a beer. They cheer, chug, Stone Cold looks to be about to give him a stunner, stops, and shakes his hand instead. Then he stuns HHH. A changing of the guard.

Vince McMahon leaves as the guy that made the company what it is, somebody that should be respected. Mr. McMahon is long gone, and Vince McMahon has just passed the torch down to his daughter and son in law. If anyone deserves their "Ric Flair sendoff moment", it's Vincent Kennedy McMahon.

Personally I'd love to see Vince team up with Cena and screw over The Rock.It would make sense too,Vince can say that The Rock left his blood, betrayed his family, turned his back on the company, etc. and make Cena his corporate champion because Cena stepped up when The Rock left.Him building a faction sounds good too. There are so many wrestlers right now that don't have anything going on.Hell,he can be revealed as the man who formed the Nexus and/or the Corre, which can set up a Cena vs. Undertaker match next year at Wrestlemania (remember that Nexus helped bury The Undertaker alive last year). It can also team Barrett up with Cena and give Barrett the push to the main event by being Vince's corporate champion on Smackdown.

So I'd start with Vince coming out in the Cena vs. Rock match at Summerslam (if that does happen) and screwing over The Rock and end the PPV with Cena giving The Rock multiple chair shots for the pin,and FU-ing The Rock through the announcer table, maybe. The next night on Raw,have Vince come out with Cena and say The Rock deserved everything that happened to him at Summerslam.Have him book a WWE title match that very night with Cena vs. the champion, and have him screw the WWE Champion out of the match as well.Cena becomes the new WWE Champion, and becomes his corporate champion.

Cena enters a feud with the ex-WWE Champion to the next PPV and have Cena beat him.End that feud.

Have a face come out (Morrison or Orton) and get in Vince's face.Have him feud with Cena over the belt.At the PPV before Survivor Series, have Cena face Morrison/Orton then woah,The Rock comes out and costs Cena the title belt.

Cena and The Rock settle the score at Survivor Series and The Rock pulls out the win. Then he sets his sights on kicking Vince's ass.

Book Vince vs. The Rock at the last PPV of the year, and just when it looks like The Rock's going to hit The People's Elbow, have Cena run in and interfere. The Rock will fend off Cena, lay the smackdown on Vince again and he hits the People's Elbow. But before he gets the pin...what's this? The Corre run out and lay out The Rock.Vince gets the pin and The Corre,Cena and Vince stand with their arms raised to end the PPV.Vince and The Rock can take the time off TV to heal from their match.

Barrett goes on Raw the next night to proclaim that Vince was the man who created the Nexus and gave Barrett leadership over the group.Vince thought the superstars were getting complacent and needed a wake up call, and that's exactly what he got.Sadly, the Nexus got overrun by guys like Otunga and the new blood, and they split into the new Nexus,so Barrett went over to Smackdown with Vince's backing and created the Corre, and made all members equal, having learnt from their mistakes.Have Cena come out and as per wishes of Vince, shake Barrett's hand, putting their past behind them.Give Cena backstage promos where he "talks to Vince on the phone" and voices his doubts about working with a guy who tried to end Cena.

Nonetheless,Cena helps and receives help from Corre. At the Royal Rumble,Cena can face the WWE champion and just as Cena is about to hit the FU,the lights go out, then the lights come back on and Cena gets laid out by the WWE champion's finisher.Later in the Rumble, the Corre are cleaning house until a top face comes in at number 30 (Christian,Morrison,Orton,Edge, etc.) and almost eliminates everyone in the Corre. He eliminates the other members and it's just him and Barrett. They fight, and Vince makes a return and costs the face the Rumble.Barrett wins the Rumble and he goes on to face the World Heavyweight Champion at Wrestlemania.

Cena builds momentum and heads into the Raw Chamber for the WWE title. He gets a good groove going and it's down to him and one other man. Before he hits the FU,the lights go out again, and Undertaker returns.Taker performs his finisher on Cena and costs him the title.

The next night on Raw,Taker comes out and calls out Vince.Tell him that if Vince was the mastermind behind burying him alive in 2010,then there will be hell to pay.Cena comes out and gets in Undertaker's face for costing him the WWE Title.Vince books Undertaker vs. Cena at Wrestlemania,No Holds Barred (again).

If Undertaker is healthy enough, have Vince book Undertaker vs. the other members of the Corre (except Barrett) and other superstars every week on Smackdown, like how Orton is taking out the Nexus.A month before Wrestlemania,Undertaker is facing a wrestler on Raw,and he wins. Then Barrett and Cena come out and attack Undertaker while Vince barks on the microphone. Then The Rock's music hits and he runs out and chases off Cena and Barrett. He turns around and sets his sights on Vince and Rock Bottoms Vince. The Rock grabs the mic, says his catchphrases and then says at Wrestlemania in his hometown of Miami,Florida he will whoop Vince McMahon's candy ass.Vince's huge ego causes him to accept the match.

At Wrestlemania.Vince gets his ass kicked by The Rock.Barrett wins the World Heavyweight Championship and Cena loses to Undertaker. After Wrestlemania,Barrett starts getting cocky and starts telling Cena how he failed Vince while Barrett succeeded in becoming World Champion.Have Barrett get in Cena's face at every opportunity with Vince trying to keep the peace.Barrett starts a feud with Undertaker for the World title while Cena feuds with The Rock again,or for the WWE title.

Those two feuds go on until the PPV before Summerslam.Cena finally takes out The Rock and puts The Rock on the shelf for a long long time,or in the other scenario, lose the WWE title match. In the main event, the ref is knocked down and just as Barrett looks to have Undertaker down and out,Cena runs in and FUs Barrett, costing him the World title.Barrett goes ballistic and so does Vince, and he books a match between Cena and the other members of the Corre on Raw next week.Cena takes a beatdown and loses, and Barrett struts down the ramp to inform Cena that he'll meet him at Summerslam.Cena storms into Vince's locker room and demands to know why Vince would put the face of the company in a 3-on-1 handicap match, and have Vince fly off the handle and tell Cena that he has been a disappointment while Barrett's gone from strength to strength.Have Vince tell Cena that Cena cost Vince's golden boy the World title and that he would have to pay for his insubordination. At Summerslam,Barrett and Cena face off with Vince in Barrett's corner.Cena pulls out a win and goes after Vince. The Corre run out and start attacking Cena and Cena takes the attacks until he rolls out of the ring and grabs a chair. He lays the Corre members out and FUs Barrett on the steel chair.Cena grabs Vince and FUs him on the announcer's table, ending his partnership with Vince and turning face again.Vince gets put on the shelf indefinitely,Barrett and the Corre go back on Smackdown and Cena goes back on Raw,and that's how I would end the Vince's Corporate Champions angle.

I don't think McMahon needs one last run. I believe his match with Bret Hart at Wrestlemania 26 was it for the McMahon character. He had his feuds with Austin, Hogan, HBK, HHH, and Hart. Mr. McMahon is one of the best heels in history and the way he went out was good enough for me.
