Ive seen enough of the title being thrown into the picture, this feud DOES NOT NEED A TITLE! They already have so much history it doesnt need to be built around a belt, save the championship for people who have a harder time finding something to feud over.
WARNING!!!!!! THIS POST IS LOOOOONNNNGGGGGGG. If you skip it I totally understand but I do believe it is very good, and if you would like to read I would really appreciate any feedback you'd like to give
as seen on smackdown the fuse has already been lit. Edge heel turns on Christian, they had some interaction, Christian got the better and they part ways. For the next few months there should be some mention of E vs C with little jabs here and there. Within those few months, say May-August (summerslam) Christian works his way through a decent feud for the WHC with Swagger. They mention ECW history, etc etc. Summerslam comes and to commemorate their days in ECW its an extreme match. Near the end Edge costs him the match.
Raw the next night Edge cuts a promo saying how Christian will never be as good as him and he will never win a world title. They stay on separate shows to keep their feud building while not coming in contact, but every now and then throwing little jabs at eachother a few times a month such as mentioning one another in a negative way during a promo about their current program.
this keeps going for a few more months, on the ppvs they have some interactions such as Edge making sure Christian doesnt win a multi-man hell in a cell match for the title, could have it as a four man match, everyone hits their finisher with Christian about to hit his when Edge comes out of nowhere and spears him. Christian can screw Edge over later in the night as well. One of the main points here is that Christian gets some shots at a world title but they are all unfairly taken away by Edge. Maybe even something where an official gets paid off by Edge to screw Christian over in a match or having his number one contendership taken away.
Bragging rights in october- smackdown vs raw has the first real match with Edge and Christian fighting eachother. Im not sure what the ppv schedule is like for the next 2 months but as the year goes on things continue to build and build. Then the rumble.
Christian comes in around number 8 or so and lasts for a long time. Edge comes in at say, 27. They meet in the ring with Edge getting the better of Christian. Edge hits Christian with his faceplant ddt move and goes to the corner as Christian is getting up near the ropes. Edge looks like he's setting up for the spear. As Edge runs toward him, Christian pulls the top rope down and Edge goes sailing over the top. Immediately after Edge pulls Christian out of the ring, beats on him a little bit, whips him into the steps and spears him into the steps. Then he gets a chair, puts Christians head on the steps and does the one man conchairto. Christian, playing dead (not literally of course but for all intents and purposes), is rolled back into the ring by Edge and gets sloppily dumped over the top rope. Christian lays on the floor a while and is helped to the back. After this Christian is not seen for a week. On raw the next night Edge talks about how he thwarted Christian's opportunity to get another shot at a world title, and that Edge is not only the ultimate opportunist, but the ultimate unopportunist as well.
That next monday he comes back and attacks Edge backstage and beats him down pretty bad. On smackdown the same week Christian cuts a promo on everything thats happened between them and says he wants a match with Edge. Christian then explains that Teddy long set up a camera for Edge to appear on the tron. Edge comes on the tron, they go back and forth with Edge eventually saying he wants a tag match because Edge carried E&C and he wanted to show that he is not just a better wrestler but the better of the two in the type of match that made them famous. Christian retorts that Edge is scared to face him one one one but eventually accepts.
They build to the ppv before mania (elimination chamber) with a tag match where E&C pick partners who are also feuding toward mania, but are not as over as E&C. Good tag match, E&C come in hot, boom boom boom. To further the feud between E&C's partners, the heel partner sneaks under the ring, comes up on the other side and grabs the face partner's boot laces (which are worked to become untied during the match) to the bottom rope. The face partner doesnt notice because he is leaning over the top rope watching the rest of the match with great anticipation. Right after, the heel partner crawls back under the ring to his own side. Edge hits Christian with a big move and leaves the ring. Edge grabs some foreign object. He comes in to hit Christian with it and the ref grabs it out of his hands. As this is going on the face partner tries to get into the ring to realize he is tied to the bottom rope. He calls the ref over to see and the ref drops the weapon as he goes over. As the ref and the face partner try to untie the laces Christian gets the advantage. As it looks like Christian is going to hit the killswitch the heel partner hits Christian with the weapon and throws it out of the ring. Then the heel partner rushes around to the face partner and bumps him off the apron so he is hanging upside down by one leg. At the same time Edge sets Christian up and hits him with the spear. During this time the ref is looking back and forth at everything. Edge goes for the cover. The ref, knowing that the heel and face partners should not be fighting on the outside goes with his best judgement and just goes over to the two legal guys in the ring. 1-2-3, Edge and his partner win.
Christian comes on raw the next night and has an in ring promo. He explains all the crap that went on that night and says that proves he was right and that Edge is truly a coward. Edge comes out on the entranceway to talk to Christian (keeping his distance). They go back and forth and Edge leaves saying he has nothing more to prove. There are a few segments through the night where Edge gets scared by a Christian picture on a spring thats loaded inside his locker, a telegram comes for Edge (who comments on the stupidity and obsolitess of telegrams) where the telegram guy reads it for him so he clears his throat and SCREAMS at Edge to scare him then says it was from a guy named Christian, and a Christian life size cut out waiting for Edge when he comes out of his locker room to scare him as well. Edge snaps and rips the cut out to shreds.
On smackdown that week Edge assaults Christian during a match and afterward tells him on the mic that he wants him at mania.
The next raw Christian has another in ring promo. He says enough is enough (and its time for a change, lol) and this back and forth between the two has to end. Its too much on either man to keep this up and they should talk like civilized people. Edge comes out, mic in hand (again only to the ramp) and says lets talk. they go on for a bit about what has transpired and all the history theyve had together over the past year and even throughout their entire careers. They almost get a little nostalgic talking about those times and they seem like they are almost getting along again, talking about great things the other did then. Edge gets closer and closer and then enters the ring. It looks like their feud never happened. Then the topic of their amazing TLC matches come up. They go on about that for a bit when Christian says Im glad that came up. we revolutionized this business with matches like that we did it all and we did it all together. (then things get serious again) he then says Thats why I want another, I want YOU one on one in a TLC match. He goes on to explain that there are no belts on the line to hang up, but what is at the top of the ladder is something more. Its pride. Its honor. Its dignity. Its everything that proves once and for all who is the best. It gets decided, TLC at mania. Then as Edge is about to leave he rushes to spear Christian who puts up a knee and tries to hook the killswitch. Edge escapes and leaves the ring (basically the same thing they did on the 4/30 smackdown. As far as what actually gets hung up above the ring, I have no idea, if anyone wants to give me feedback and has an idea about it lets hear it.
The next few weeks they continue to play mindgames with eachother and build their feud more but now there seems to be a little more respect between the two, not much at all, but slight slight hints, ie no cheap attacks behind the back. There could still be attacks but theyd all be head on.
Mania- they have a great TLC match, Christian, being the face in all this and probably needing more of a push than Edge, wins the match. After all is said and done they have a staredown in the ring, Edge extends his hand, and Christian accepts. No attacks after, just a handshake. I'd like that to lead to an eventual Edge face turn and the return of Edge and Christian as a tag team the next year. They win the tag titles, hold them for a while then lose them. After that Christian still goes after a world title and Edge, while still wanting gold for himself, still stays aligned with Christian and is pulling for him to get one. Christian eventually does. Id explain all of that in more depth but this thread is the EvsC feud.
