After watching RAW this week (5/24), I thought that was one hell of a show. And that's talking about a show with a horrible Jon Lovitz segment. It still had the Bret Hart GM shocker, US Title Change, Batista quitting, and the set-up to the next PPV. And it was all kept PG!!
Guest Host aside, the reason why I think WWE succeeds where TNA fails is in the writing department. I'm CONSTANTLY rolling my eyes at the stuff TNA churns out. It just doesn't make sense. Sting is "chosen" to be #1 Contender after brutally beating up Hogan? Eric Young is good, then bad, then good, then bad, with no logical explination?
And the worst thing is - and many people can and will disagree with me - but I think TNA has a much better roster than WWE. I think TNA is like the Yankees of wrestling. They have the best of the past, the best of the present, and most likely the best of the future. So why can't they catch on??
It didn't take WCW 7 years to catch on. It took one storyline. nWo.
That's why I think writing is so important. What do you guys think about the writing for both shows?? I personally think that WWE is doing really great things given the limitations they placed on themselves. How important do you think the writing is??
