How can Daniel Brian be an NXT Pro?

chidori nagashi. 漢字
I mean, sure this kid's the US champ, but he was also an NXT rookie a few seasons back.

I personally don't even watch the show, but I was aware Brian was a Pro, and I decided to watch the finale of NXT S4.

I just don't think it makes much sense to have a former rookie being a Pro all of a sudden.
And Del Rio being a Pro, even though being in the mainevent picture of Wrestlemania.
Not being present at the final of NXT and having his announcer be in the corner of his pro was just silly.

There's so much wrong with NXT, but I'm only going to pick up on Brian being the Pro this time :)
Thoughts?

you are stuck in kayfabe world. Daniel Bryan is only a "rookie" in the WWE. In reality, he has a decade of wrestling experience. He is perfectly qualified to be a Pro. Besides, How many years was the Miz in wrestling before he was Daniel Bryan's pro? Bryan has been wrestling far longer than Miz had..

u just mentioned why he is a pro becuase he is the US champ anyways as Davi said in wwe hes a rookie, before wwe he has 9-19 years of experience
and it wasnt really all of a sudden he was in the first season its now the end of the 4th

If Bryan quits wrestling for 5 years while Miz were too continue wrestling, Bryan would still have more talent than Miz. I couldn't watch NXTS1 mainly cause the 'E' creative crew thought that would be funny to have Bryan (The best talent in the group) teamed up with Miz (Worst talent of the Pros) Just didn't sit right with me.

It's called "Older And Wiser". Daniel Bryan was on the first season of NXT, and his independent background was often acknowledged. Though he was fired, he was brought back and became the US Champion. He is for all intents and purposes, an NXT success story. Everyone knows he's a phenomenal wrestler. His match with Ziggler just won WWE's top match of 2010, OVER HBK/Taker. In kayfabe, Bryan would understand what NXT is all about, since he had to go through it himself.

That is why he is qualified to be an NXT pro. He can wrestle well, he's a current champion, and he has been through NXT before. By the way, you should have watched this season. His interaction with his rookie was hilarious!

For the same reason the Miz, Ted JR, & Cody Rhodes were Pro's to give him more camera and mic time. Hasn't anyone notice that most of the Pro's on NXT didn't have anything big going on Raw or Smackdown . NXT is being use to showcase FCW talent and also keep the regular talent busy and sharp.

Lol... Why is this thread still open?

Daniel Bryan Danielson (DBD) has so much experience and a lot to teach young and upcoming superstars. The man has wrestled in from of anywhere from 300-20000 people or more and has been in the business for a very long time. He is arguably the best techinal wrestler alive today. Of course he is a pro. Do you pay attention to anything they say about DBD on television, OP? If you did, this ridiculous post would not have been made and people would not be shaking their heads in awe.

Unless you are trolling... then hats off to you, sir.

Either way, that was the minor league, not many people really knew who Danielson was before the WWE, so i see what this dude is saying, let a real PRO do the job, as the pro.

Does the pro/rookie relationship mean anything behind the scenes anyway? I loved NXT one and two (can't wait for Percy Watson to make it), and it seems that it was all show of course, and that it didn't matter who they picked to be pros, they just tried to add story line to it. Like Miz/DB or David Otunga and Truth. If the pros needed actual qualifications is there any way in the world that LeyCool would have been Kaval's pros?

Ok, Tim Tebow was a rookie this past year in the NFL, but he was still a pro.

If Zack Ryder can be a pro, so can Bryan. He draws a lot more anyways.

I love the idea of this. It makes the show more interesting. I mean he was in the first NXT and he is now the United states Champion. It makes it look like being on the NXT is the best way to become a star on Raw or Smackdown. He would also know what it's to be on the other end of the show so I think this will be a good thing.

That's true, with the exception of Del Rio.

It made the show seem kinda stupid having R-Truth in one corner (understandable as he's the Pro) and having Del Rio's ring announcer in the other corner (makes no sense).

In Kayfabe terms, it makes some sense actually, because he's been there and he can relate to his rookie, which can help them on a personal level. And he's the US Champion, and has been for some time. Oh, and he beat the future WWE Champion for he belt, too.

Then, from a reality standpoint, it's to give him something to do, as others have mentioned. It's like people wrestling on Superstars - its a way of keeping them relevant on a weekly basis if they can't be on the main show(s).

You're looking far too deeply into it. Inception can't even go that deep, my friend. Just don't worry yourself about it, kick back, and enjoy.

Really, it seems like everyone who doesnt like Bryan as a pro, or isnt sure if 'it works,' hasn't seen nxt s4(or anything but the finale). I haven't either seen it so, ofcourse, I am not prepared to judge it. Neone whose been watching since Bryan came in to wwe, and thinks he shouldn't be a pro: "happy 12th birthday, sweetheart. " If u havent seen nxt s4, either, dude why r u here right now? Get lost.

First off learn his name before making a post, it's Daniel Bryan. Secondly He's been in the independent circuit for years, he is only a WWE Rookie. Him being a NXT Pro makes sense as he has actually won a title before the actual winner of NXT Wade Barrett has. Even Justin Gabrielle and Heath Slater are two time tag-champions to this point. You're probably just a TNA troll that wishes he went to TNA like Desmond Wolfe did.

You obviously missed the whole point of them being paired together then. The reason they were paired together is because Miz isn't so good in the ring but is good on the mic and DBD has the opposite problem, so they thought they could kill two birds with one stone and help both give each other a rub.

I know how to spell his name, it was just a simple mistake good sir.

It's a fair point you make about Barrett and the rest of the S1 rookies title-wise, but that's not really what they've been after. Barrett, Gabriel, Slater etc. made a much bigger impact than Bryan.

I haven't followed anything he's done before the WWE but I do know everything he's done since being signed with WWE, so I don't have the full background knowledge of his wrestling career, nor would I expect the majority of wrestling fans to know either.

But really, a TNA troll? No idea where you pulled that from but TNA's not my thing thankyou.

Anyone on the WWE roster can technically be a Pro. The whole point is to pair an FCW rookie with a wrestler from the main roster.

Daniel Bryan has alot of experience in wrestling from before he joined WWE, and is obviously one of the most talented in-ring performers WWE has. That more than makes him a valid pick as one of the pro's.

He is the success story of NXT so far, along with Wade Barrett and as he has no major storyline going on right now it is a good opportunity to keep him in the spotlight. I do not see any problem with this at all.

FFS Laycool were the pro's for Kaval who is one of the most talented wrestlers out there with alot of experience on the indies. If they can be pro's then of course Bryan can be

This sounds like a good idea to me. Firstly Bryan was a rookie on the show and he has had first hand experience of how the show works and in a kayfabe sense, he will be able to teach his rookie the intricacies that the other pros will have no idea about.

Secondly Bryan lost a lot as a rookie and that adds controversy to the show. The announcers could point out how Bryan is an undeserving pro and how his rookie is doomed from the start because he was himself total shit as a rookie. On a lesser level it will have the same effect as Miz training Bryan did. It will get people talking about the show and that can only be a good thing.

you answered your OWN question BECUZ he's US champ...

just becuz sumone is a rookie it doesnt mean there not GOOD...look at Blake Griffin IF you watch BBAL, he is (technically a rookie) but played in the all star game WHY becuz he's DAMN good...
