Hollywood or Linkin Park

This Is My Name Thank You

Is a horrible poster.
Okay, so I am listening to Hollywood Undead at the moment and at times I get a little feel of Linkin Park in their. Now HU has 2 full length albums out vs LP with I believe 4. Swan Songs from HU has more of a party feel with a good 7 songs about women and partying. American Tradgey has a more serious approach and the albums has been sited to be more of a LP type of album. I really like these guys and think they sound good live and have good beats with a good metal sound.

LP has 4 albums with my personal favs being Hybrid Theroy and Meteora, which have more of a Nu Metal feel to them and each song is a seriously good and every song rocks. LP then came out with Minuets to Midnight which has limited songs with Mike Shinoda as he went into Fort Minor. This album has a different feel with a lot more sappy tracks and a more hip hop feel to it. Not my favorites but its ok. Then they released A Thousand Suns and this is again a more hip hop feel and Mike Shinoda is back with the band full time. It has also been rumored that the last two albums is what LP wants to be as a band and that Hybrid, Meteora was not them. I think this album is okay and it is a little better than M2M.

So what band do you prefre more Hollywood Undead or Linkin Park?

Which band do you see making the better albums in the years to come?

An who has the better rap style/singing to them?

I personally prefer HU over Linkin Park since they seem to lost their step and want to be more hip hop.

I see HU making the better Albums and still being able to have the metal sound in their music and becoming more and more serious.

An the rapping is hard for me as HU has 4 rappers and 1 singer. And LP has 1 of each. I rate these guys the same on the rapping and I give Danny the better vocals as Chester sounds whinny at times.

*I prefer Duece over Danny in HU but Danny is good.

Linkin Park are a far better band than Hollywood Undead, which is why they are one of the biggest rock bands on the planet, and HU are not.

While I much prefer Linkin Park's early material (Hybrid Theory is still a fantastic album), the lyrics, vocals and alteration between rap and rock in LP's music is far superior to anything Hollywood Undead have, and in my opinion, will ever do. Their single "Undead" is a good song, but nothing else I have heard from them has appealled to me, so unless I am missing some absolutely brilliant tracks I can see no way how they can compare with Linkin Park.

Songs like "In The End", "One Step Closer", "Numb", "Points Of Authority" etc are classic anthems and will remain popular for years. Hollywood Undead will be very fortunate to achieve even half what Linkin Park have done over the years.

However, if you can post some HU tracks that compare with Linkin Park in terms of quality, I will be happy to revise my opinion. I don't expect that will be the case, but I will be happy to listen to some of your favourite HU songs....

Linkin Park is the better of the two and there is hardly any contest. I see Linkin Park continuing to release great albums, each different from the last, and it is about time for another remix album so there will likely be more of those too. How many other bands do you know that have experimented so successfully with other styles or remixing their own songs? Linkin Park have the singing/rapping and rock/rap style mastered perfectly. Granted Minutes to Midnight was not as great as some had hoped it would be, but it was still a good CD and A Thousand Suns more than made up for it. Their entire discography is great, whereas Hollywood Undead on their best day still wouldn't even touch LP's quality.

Hollywood Undead are still going? Why are they even still contracted to a label?

Never before have I heard such poor lyrics mixed with such an odd "gimmick", with the masks. First time I saw them they were doing an interview for MTV UK and they said their masks symbolize their backgrounds. So one of them is a sailor I take it or something? Hollywood Undead just have nothing, mesmerizing about them. The only thing I can compare them too, is a lesser ICP. I was the area of a Hollywood Undead concert and their fans seem to be fucking ******s. Looked like a nearby prison allowed the inmates out for the day.

LP on the other hand have talent. They were one of the biggest bands at the turn of the millenium, they fused rap and metal in such a unique manner. It was such an odd set-up with what they used and the music produced was creative and original. Hybrid Theory and Meteroa are two of my favorite albums, I listen to them once in awhile and they remind me how good they are. Didn't get too into Minutes to Midnight though, and the album following either to be fair. One song which stood out was "What I've Done," thought that more went back to the bands original sound, but I ignore their recent work.

Don't see Hollywood Undead and LP in anyway similar. Sound. Look. Following. Talent-wise, nothing. LP are years ahead of anything Hollywood Undead will even remotely become, and to be frank, Hollywood Undead are one of those bands that you just know, won't last forever.

I heard HU's 'Undead' being used in the trailer for the GI Joe film a couple years back and liked the 30 seconds I heard. When I heard the rest of it I thought it was like a parody band or something, the OTT video also cemented this theory. Not a fan.

LP are not as appealing as they once were but they were great in their first few years and managed to be one of the leading bands of the Nu-Metal era. Their cover of Rolling in the Deep by Adele also wins them some brownie points.

Linkin Park by a mile, I could never get into Hollywood Undead and their stuff just sounds like garbage to me. The one song of HU's that was almost tolerable is their song "Undead" but after hearing about 100 times on the menu of UFC Undisputed 2009 I became an anti Hollywood Undead. I was a big fan of Linkin Park when they first came out, they were never in my favorite range but there were always cool with me and there are several of their songs that I have been majorly hooked on in the past. Better band, better albums and rappers all go to Linkin Park because they have talent while Hollywood Undead does not.

So what band do you prefre more Hollywood Undead or Linkin Park?

I like both bands quite a lot actually. Linkin Park was pretty much the first band I really got into when I was a child back in 1998. So lucky for me, my youth wasn't tainted by sub-par bands like pretty much every single fucking boy band in the world. Linkin Park will always be my favorite band, they're great in concert and they are perhaps, the greatest humanitarians as far as bands go. When the earthquakes hit late last year in Haiti, on their website they created a donation fund for the victims in Haiti by recording a new song for only $1. The best part, 100% of the proceeds went to Haiti, they made sure neither they, or their record company would get a single penny.

As far as Hollywood Undead go, they have been a really unique sound I've haven't heard in quite a long time. I can see how how some people can compare Hollywood Undead to Linkin Park from their latest album, American Tragedy. But they still have their own distinct sound with songs like "Everywhere I go" and "Levitate." Sorry fellow members of the Undead Army, but Linkin Park is still a much better band then Hollywood Undead.

Which band do you see making the better albums in the years to come?

That is really hard to say, American Tragedy was a huge step forward for Hollywood Undead while some believe Linkin Park's, A Thousand Suns was a step backward for the band, but yet was still good as far as concept albums goes. In otherwords, I thought it was the best concept album, but it was the worst Linkin Park album. Linkin Park promised it's Underground fanbase their next album will go back to it's roots and be more Rap/Rock and less the pop/techno sound they did last year. And Hollywood Undead is currently touring the world right now. Once again, Linkin Park will produce a top quality album. Maybe HU's next album will have similar success.

An who has the better rap style/singing to them?

Now this quite a difficult question to answer. And that is because Hollywood Undead has many different rap/vocal variations in their songs than Linkin Park. For Linkin Park, you have the iconic voice of Chester Bennington and the legendary art work that are Mike Shinoda's verses. And with Hollywood Undead, their most common mix is Danny/Johnny 3 Tears. Then again, you also have Danny/Charlie Scene. Personally I like the mix between Johnny 3 Tears and Danny. It sounds very well and very natural transition between the verse and the chorus. However, Chester and Mike Shinoda pioneered the Rap/Vocal so once again, they get my vote.

I would say Linkin park. Because that person did the nice work. That need to be different thought among all. And the work of that person is a legend , Although the hollywood is good at its place. But I like linkin park the most..
