Hogans coming back?

Now the title speaks for itself. I read it here on WZ earlier today and yes I actually watched Brooke Knows Best earlier tonight to here it from the man himself. The Hulkster as noted just had a laser surgery on his back recently to get rid of the pain and numbness in his back and legs. It is a risky surgery that doesn't actually fix the bones and spurs it just gets rid of the pain. If successful I am pretty confident that Hogan will at least try and come back, hopefully to the WWE.

In a segment on the show, I came to the conclusion that Hogan is getting low on money, he even said he had decisions to make when it came to paying bills and if you saw the new house he's living in now it's far from a mansion to say the least. Hogan also talked about how he wants to come back and wrestle and thinks he can if the surgery is a success. IMO we would have seen a lot more of Hogan in the past few years if his injuries weren't so severe he could barely walk and also because of his $ issues.

Now obviously this is a mute point if the surgery isn't a full blown success but for the sake of conversation I am going to say it will be and that we will see Hogan back on a part time basis at least. As much as I would like to see Hogan/Austin we all know that wont happen but what about Hogan/Cena at Wrestlemania 26. I know there was a thread about this in the past month or so, so I won't get into the creatives of the angle. Despite a full recovery, Hulk is too old and beat up to wrestle on more then a part time basis but I do think he could wrestle a few PPV's a year.

So I ask you IWZ, one do you guys think Hogan will come back if the surgery does work?

And secondly, if he does come back do you think it will be for another Wrestlemania moment, or a more part time basis?

Kind of like in 2003 when he came back for about 3 months, wrestled a couple PPV's then went away for a little while and came back as Mr. America for another few months. Obviously, he won't come back as Mr. America but you know what I mean. I am hoping for more then just a Wrestlemania match and I know his matches won't be pretty but we have all come to the conclusion that Hogan isn't a good wrestler anymore.

i will say this i don't think hogan is a good wrestler but i love the character to death. mainly because everyone knows who hulk hogan is. and if u don't u have been under a rock for 30 years.

personally i'd love to c him on a limited kinda of contract like with taker and shawn. he cna do promo's maybe tag match and he can do PPV match which are always major draws.

this is gonna give me so much shit on the forums for saying this but i would'nt mind him winning a world championship. insane yes markish of course he doesn't have to hold it for long, win it, lose next PPV it would just make fans happy and boost hogans confidence.

i wanted to c Chris Jericho vs. hulk hogan at wrestlemania 25 and i didn't get that chance. i would of loved watching hulk hogan break out of the walls in his typical "hulking up" fashion.

well those are my thoughts

or ever was a good wrestler lol except maybe the first 3 yrs in his Hulkamania tenure.

Hogan is an icon not a wrestler.

With the body of a god and the charisma second to none ya don't need to be good in ring :)

Id mark out if he came back, though it was painfull to watch him attempt the thing we call wrestling the last few runs he had.

Now an issue, he did CCW with Eric Bischoff in the meantime although it was pretty worthless and the outcome was obvious from the first show. It was still something going against WWE so would Vince invite him back again. I'd say yes if he though it was going to push ratings up which it would.

The other thing, is everyone gonna have to job to him again like every other run, barring a few select people that were allowed to win. I'd like to see him get beaten cleanly, just to say look now he's well over his prime he can be beaten

Jesus how hard is it to post threads in the right section? Whatever. Hogan coming back would suck from a wrestling standpoint, but it would be cool from a purely nostalgic view. A WM match with Cena would draw huge. Personally I would rather see him go to TNA. He was a strong force in putting WCW on the map, lets see if he still carries that kind of weight these days.

I love hogan but that's why I don't want him to comeback I don't want him to end up like Micheal Jackson try to make a comeback and have him die because of heart failure I know drugs played a part Micheal death Hogan older the add stress of him returning could be to much. There got to be another way hogan can make money. But if he does hopefully it will just be one big pay day match at wrestlemania where he puts a younger guy over like a cena. though im hoping for cena vs the rock at wm26

i dont want to see him come back maybe at wm 30 big 30th wm and have a match but return nah be good to see him come back and guest host raw at least he will be seen

To answer your first question, I do believe Hulk wants to step back in the ring but I'm not sure if he can handle it. The way I see it is, he's going to be a big draw. However, I'm really not sure he could get in the ring with his current condition. I'd say Vince would maybe have him be the guest host of Raw. That would still be a pretty big maybe though.

TNA would probably like to hire him despite what he pulled back in 03 or 04 when he left the WWE the second time. I'd say they would more than likely want to have him in the MEM storyline.

On to the second part, I really don't like Hogan. It's only my opinion and I wont bash others who thing he's the greatest thing since sliced bread, but I was never fond of him. I could honestly care less if he returned but I'd say if he did, either MEM in TNA or Guest host of RAW.

If Hogan can handle a couple of matches decently I say yes bring him back for a while.

Lets let him have his little run, (((BUT))) it would be nice to see his career end nice and clean in the middle of the ring. Not for him just to cash a payday end then avoid wanting to put someone over, I dont care even who it would be, and I when I say I dont care who it is I dont want some smartass here saying "oh since you said anyone how about Eugene" no, I mean I dont care if its Cena, Trips, Orton or even a superstar who's just starting to taste the main event scene.

I just dont want to see the same Hogan run we've seen in the past.

I agree about putting guys over. As much as I like Hogan, lets face it the man is in his 50's and can't move very well. My point is, I would love to see him back but he should not be winning every match, he also needs to put guys over. I think he should win matches but also he needs to put guys over as well. He won't lose any cred because everyone knows he's already a legend and losing to a ME star in his prime wont tarnish that, IMO!

Oh and before I forget, my bad for this in the wrong forum. This was my first post, so I am still new to the process.

ok so this is an interesting idea. It is clear that Hogan wants to wrestle again.
the facts:

Hogan is broke
TNA probably can't afford the kind of money Hogan will be looking for, maybe one, one off appearance, But a long term contract, Dixie won't be able to afford it.
Vince and Hogan always seem to be in a rocky place anyway, so they won't find it hard to sort out differences, Vince especially for business, and Hogan for the money. Typical employer/employee relationship.

I believe Hogan may be the last Guest Host of RAW. I think the whole concept of Guest Hosts will end because the hosts have too much power. They have already started reporting about it on WWE.com. Hogan is host, puts himself in a WWE Title match. Wins. Vince comes out, relinquishes it. Ends the Guest Hosts.

Im not entirely certain, I just dont think TNA could afford him

I heard flair was comeing back to. hows this for an idea. Flair and hogan come to raw as gust just to hang out and watchthe show. they get in a argument and head to the ring to fight McMan sends securty out to stop them because he doesn't want old men fighting in his ring. he tells them to give back to the wwe and find 2 new tag teams train them manage them throu some matches with outher tag teams to buld cread. Then have them face off at Wreslmania.

Even after surgery I don't think Hogan could compete in the ring. He can't even do a leg drop anymore. It's great to see Hogan, but he is ruining his legacy by coming back at only 75%. Which now is more like 50%. Maybe if Hogan can be healthy and wrestle one last match against maybe Flair or Austin. I think we will probably see Hogan pass the torch to Cena instead though. Which would be more of a wrestling match then a Hogan/Flair or Hogan/Austin match.

We all know that Hogan wants another WWE Run i mean after WCW fell through and he came back i can understand him wanting run then but Hogn is into his 50s now and its not 1987 when Hogan was in His Prime beating Andre at WMIII this is 2009 were we dont got no one from the 1990s left except for HHH HBK Jericho and Show other than that the next gen is in WWE now if Hogan wants a run in Wrestling try either TNA or a reigion promotion

I don't think we can handle another Hogan run. I mean this guy sucked when he was in his prime. Marketing and size made him who he is. I know he could draw a huge crowd for a match, but it wouldn't be a lasting draw. Especially when they see that he can only get that big boot to the head up to their knee. Actually what the WWF needs and what Hogan can give them is an established former wrestler turned manager. I think he'd make a great manager of a heel stable.

Maybe Hulk Hogan just wants rid of the pain so he can...I dunno...LIVE LIFE! If Hogan came back and wrestled, it would create a domino effect of FUCK ALL that would take place. it would inspire Flair to get back into the ring, Piper to give it a try, and god forbid someone like Sgt. Slaughter try it again. This can lead to nothing but bad things for the WWE and Hogan. Unless Hogan's desperate for money, I don't see this happening.

I wuld like to see Hogan come back again. Not as a full time wrestler persay. Perhaps he could be the new full time GM(personally Ive started to get sick of the guest GM) or he could manage an up and comer or new stable........new NWO?

I don't see him coming back to wrestle at any point, even if his surgery is a complete success.

The point is thst Hogan can't do anything inside the ring anymore, he is just far too beat up to go anything more than 5 minutes in the ring with anyone. The wrestler he is opposing would have to carry the match and that is almost impossible when you are against Hogan. People like to see him winning matches and doing his superman routine but he is too old to boss matches now and control the pace. I think if he was to come back to the ring, which I don't think will happen, it would be for one match only and it would be against John Cena. People would mark the fuck out and would be talking about it in anticipation until the match actually happened. I also think that if they are ever going to do the Cena/Hogan thing, it needs to be at the next Wrestlemania. Who knows how long Cena will be there and Hogan can't be any more over the hill or it would be shit really.

I can see Hogan coming back as a guest host though. Hell, it could even set up the feud with Cena at some point.
