TNA Tag Champion Hernandez's contract with the company will expire soon, assuming the two sides haven't struck a new deal since the last television taping.

Powell's POV: People within the company aren't asking whether Hernandez will re-sign as much as they are questioning whether TNA will or should make him an offer. The company was very high on him at one time, but the widespread feeling is that he has not shown much improvement.

It's no secret around here how I feel about guys with doorknob personalities like Hernandez, but there's no questioning the guy can work a match very well and his physical size really doesn't limit him from entertaining, either, like it has for other larger guys in the company like Rob Terry.

All of this of course begs the question — do you re-sign Hernandez? Why or why not?

For all that he's become an IWC whipping boy now, Hernandez still has value. Everyone seems to have forgotten how good LAX was. I think he'd also be solid as a singles heel. He has a distinct look and entertaining ring style. He's definitely better for TV than some of the other guys they keep on staff. I'd hang on to him.

Let him go.

He has potential, if you ask me (unlike his lackey). He's a good worker and has a pretty good physique.

However, his gangsta illegal immigrant gimmick just doesn't do it for me. The whole thing was out of nowhere and just very stupid. He'd probably do well with his Konnan-lite character he was playing before, but really, he should just disappear for a while and let people forget about mexican america.

This guy is shit in every way. He's muscle-bound? Good for him. The guy has zero personality and injures others in the ring. He's nothing more than a coat-rack for the TNA tag titles right now. Once that title is gone, Mexican-America won't need him to keep their momentum. He just needs to be replaced by someone suitable.

If TNA wants to keep their tag division strong, resign Hernandez and keep him as a tag only wrestler until he improves. That would keep most major critics from complaining about him and keep the tag division with many teams.

The problem is that Hernandez WON'T improve. Impact Wrestling has used him in every facet possible. Singles, tag, mouthpiece (lord knows why), stablemate, babyface, heel... But no matter how he's used, he doesn't entice a crowd or have anything to offer the pro-wrestling world besides lots of muscle and strength. In that case, who needs him when you've got Rob Terry? You don't see two Great Khali's on WWE's roster, do you? That's because there should only be room for one uni-dimensional, talentless freak show.

If I was him being stuck in the same position for years, I wouldnt want to resign. I really enjoyed him when he upheld his Mexican Heritage as a face, when he was in that 5 way for the title against(if I remember correctly) Styles, Angle, Morgan, & Sting. He goes to AAA, comes back, and he's doing fake LAX stuff all over again.

If I was Impact, I'm not sure if I want him for anything other than what he's doing. But his experiences with Beer Money could make him a future contender for Roode when he wins the belt.

Super Mex was always one of the TNA Standouts to me. Few new moves have caught my attention like Hernandez wrapping a wife beater around your neck & throwing you with it. But mismanagement turned this talent into a pure tool

I do agree that Hernadez hasn't shown major improvement, but that has as much to do with IW's horrible booking as Hernadez. He has potential, but is never given a chance to evolve or put in a position to overhaul his character. It's clear at one time IW had alot of confidence in him, then all of a sudden decided to depush him and send him to AAA. When he does return, he's doing the streotypical LAX type of group known as Mexican America. To me, that's the whole problem with his character, it never evolves and is stuck in the same routine. I don't know if that's his fault or IW, but either way he could be used in a bigger role. Hernadez isn't a Bret Hart in the ring, but should never be compared with Great Khali. I do think he could work on his slightly sloppy in ring style. However, he isn't quite as awkward or as untalented as Khali.

The main reason I can't see IW not resigning him is b/c he's half of the tag champs currently. I wouldn't think IW would put the tag belts on Mexican America if they didn't intend on resigning Hernadez. Kinda be counterproductive to making a MA stable or wasting TV time on them as tag champs.

They've booked him to the moon, in the past. This statement makes me feel like you've only been watching IW for the past two years. Hernandez has been a champion in multiple divisions, a part of many stables, pushed as a singles heel, tag heel, singles face, tag face... he's miserably failed in every aspect because the guy has the personality of a wet mop. And his in-ring skills are dangerous and sloppy.

Because of reasons I mentioned above.

That's because he's no good with anything else. He needs another person to do the talking for him and he needs to just sit back and play enforcer. And I'm sorry, but enforcers that can't talk and have no personality never become world champion or get positive pushes because they can't do dick with them.

Hernandez should ditch TNA and go to WWE. I give you examples of TNA/ROH that have made it big in WWE.

CM Punk
R-Truth

Now here's why you go to WWE to be Del Rio's bodyguard:

Batista
Diesel aka Kevin Nash
Sid

These guys were monsters who made it big in WWE. Forget about guys like Chris Harris, Vance Archer, Kaz and Kaval they didn't have what it took to make it in the WWE they think that they were entitled because they wrestled in other organizations well so do Minor League Baseball players but they just sometimes don't have what it takes to stick in the big leagues.

Hernandez has what it takes to make it in WWE if he is patient and sees through where WWE may put in Del-Rio's bodyguard would be perfect at this moment. With alot of the big guys getting up in age he is in for a prime opportunity if he sees it through.

I'd resign him. I think he has a great look and could be great vicious heel, much like the way Mark henry is being used now in WWE, except this guy can fly!

Hasn't ben used to his potential like 95% of the roster. Guys like Hernandez, Shelley, Daniels are all stars that management just wont get behind. But unlike the other two I mentioed atleast he's around the 6 foot size so he can be a major player. Always thought he could move away from LAX as a legit threat to Angle and Joe when they were at the top of the pile...

It's Anarquia who needs to go, that guy is absolute crap and Mex Am,erica is holding Dez down.

I'd say WWE should sign him. He could interfere in this Sin Cara vs Sin Cara feud and say he is the real Mexican superstars and he is out to destroy luchadores.

I like the idea of Del Rio's bodyguard. I might even add another Mexican superstar with some size and speed too and form a tag team with them, but not straying away from the fact they are Del Rio's bodyguards.

I think that they should just get rid of Hernandez. I have never liked the guy. He is one of the most boring wrestlers I have ever seen. Bigger guys tend to bore me in the ring to begin with, and him being awful on the mic does not help. They need to get rid of him because there is no point in pushing someone who sucks as much as he does. Get rid of Hernandez and push someone who might actually succeed.

TNA needs to part ways in this relationship.

Hernandez has been injuring too many of their wrestlers lately and he's older, like in his thirties, so I don't think he's going to make any mass improvements any time soon.

His sloppy in ring style and history of recently injuring people are probably reasons WWE won't want him. They would probably put him in FCW first and who knows if he can make it through that.
