Have you ever wanted to join a creative team?

Thread notice, when I refer to writers, I mean either writers or bookers depending on your preference, be nice and bear with me. Also, this is a purely hypothetical question, I dont like being shouted at because this would never happen.

We have loads of threads about becoming a wrestler, or manager or some such, but I dont think I've ever seen this, see it seems creative teams have to have qualifications and shit to write for the shows, most probably arent fans, they are just writers who need jobs before they go on to write second rate soaps. Well, I might be wrong on that account, I dont really know.

Anyway, we have whole book this sections, an E-Fed, and while I am not under the illusion that anybody reads either, it seems people are eager to write them, some of them arent that bad at all either (I've read a few in my time). So sometimes I think that wrestling could really benefit by having genuine fans write it, dont let them take the piss and have Brian Danielson beat John Cena though, that'd just be stupid.

What am I getting at? Good question, if you had the opportunity to start writing/booking a show, would you take it?

I think I'd have to take it, having complained about wrestling on more than a few occasions I'd have to give it a go, I wouldnt be interested in the Main Event, but give me the mid-carders, set a few potential main eventers aside so I cant ruin their chances and let me run havoc, I'd have facepaint and tag teams ruling the roost again.

I think it's really easy to sit and pick apart what they are doing from our standpoints. As with most things it's a lot more complicated than it seems at first. I mean I highly doubt that storylines are drawn up as they go. I think that there are tons of meetings and tons of planning people. I think the Sheamus push was thought about for months and months maybe even a year in advance. Then comes the factor of people getting injured. Think about if John Morrison was supposed to win the title at EC (hypothetical) and he really did break his ankle, they would be screwed six ways till sunday. It comes with the territory of scripted athletics. Sure actresses get pregnant but that is much different than the week to week stuff going on in the WWE.

I'm not bashing your choice to be a writer/booker I'm saying I think it would be highly challenging and fun. I do plan on becoming a writer (just in general) in the future and would like this challenge of making things work on somewhat of a week to week. I like the prospect of planning and unpredictability in the same package.

I would probably take the opportunity and become a writer/booker if I was ever given that chance, it sounds like it could be a fun thing to try. We as fans often give the writers/bookers a tough time when we think that the booking is a cluster-mess or if the angles are bad.... but as much as we rant about it, it's honestly a tougher job than it may sound. You have to come up with who should be pushed or not, how they will be pushed, who goes over who, storylines surrounding these pushes that have SOME type of originality to them, lines for the wrestlers to say in promos, countless back up plans in case someone gets injured or has to leave, all of the above for multiple feuds EVERY SINGLE WEEK without sounding too much like past angles, and in WWE's case this has to be done for multiple shows. That's quite a task when you think about it, hence why they have entire teams to pull it off. We give them such a hard time when we don't like the angles, however it should be taken into consideration how tough of a job it can be. I would certainly try it if ever given a chance and think it could be fun because I like the idea of coming up with angles and promos, but I know it'd be tough even with a team to work with.
