I didn't have to "work" for it, but I was the only regular for almost a year with this avatar. I do "own" it...Just go find the thread on who owns their avatars.
I have a few to put in for the next batch of uploads, so hopefully they go in, and I can pick one to have as my own
I mean, yeah, it sucks that you've gotten known on that avatar, but odds are he doesn't even know who you are. You have nothing to worry about, you get over on name recognition alone.

I've never seen my avatar in use.
I think it's a matter of someone EARNING their avatar. Obviously, guys like X, NSL, and KB should keep theirs exclusive because they are long-time members of the forum. But n00bs such as myself and JKO should always check the mods avatars before choosing our own out of respect.
I started with the MCMG avi, and switched after I saw M_F using it. This was the first one I saw that I liked that wasn't in use, and it's stuck ever since
Klown_Karage stole mine, but he's a good poster so I don't mind. When the new avatars get uploaded I'll have to claim a new one.
