Rhino is another one who was never given a real chance to be anything in WWE.
He was the rookie monster in ECW, a real wrecking machine with a fantastic finisher ''GORE...GORE...GORE!" which was way over with the fans just from how devastating it looked. He initially was aligned with E & C, due to his friendship with them growing up, and then was part of the Alliance during the Invasion storyline.
After that though, Rhino was completely ignored, which I have never understood. He was never the best at cutting promos (I remember ECW promos where he literally just snarled and yelled at whoever he was facing), but they were something different and got across the fact that he was a "Man-Beast".
In the ring though, Rhino could go, he was solid and could definately have made a good upper mid-card, lower main event champion in the WWE. He is still good to this day in TNA, gaining the World Title there and now being part of the new EV 2.0 faction.
Over the last decade Rhino should definately have achieved more than he has, he had so much potential but was never truly allowed to unleash it, I would MTFO if he ever cvame back to WWE.
Another wasted talent was
Taz. We all know how good he was in ECW, he had the vignettes before his debut in WWE, the epic debut at thr Rumble, ending Kurt Angles unbeaten streak and then a couple of feuds...but even in the Alliance, where you would have expected him to shine, WWE did nothing with him, he wasnt pushed when he should have been. Taz would have been a great member of Team Alliance in the Inaugrual Brawl or at Survivor Series but they just chose to ignore him and put Shane McMahon in the team instead, which was a disgrace.
The last one I will mention is
Jerry Lynn
Lynn is one of the best wrestlers in the world, still is to this day. He was a former ECW champion, and put on some of the best matches I have ever seen against Rob Van Dam. They were so memorable that Lynn v RVD is main eventing TNA's "HardCORE Justice" PPV this month.
Lynn won the WWF Light Heavyweight Title on his debut, defeating Crash Holly but then ended up getting injured. During his time off, the WCW/ECW Invasion storyline began, where all the ex-ECW stars on the WWF roster (Dudleyz, Lance Storm, Justin Credible etc) all formed an alliance. I have read an interview with Lynn (A FORMER ECW CHAMP, remember) where Lynn lets WWF management know he is fit and ready to join the Alliance, and they respond with "Sorry, there is no space for you"... WTF?!
Eventually, Lynn is released having done nothing for months, and being with the WWF less than a year, and not being allowed to have used his Cradle Piledriver finisher
See any link here? The 3 guys I have mentioned- plus Raven in my earlier post- are
ALL FORMER ECW WORLD HEAVYWEIGHT CHAMPIONS, who were all talented in the ring- as good as (or in Lynns case) better than almost anyone on the WWF roster, but they achieved almost nothing, were not given any major feuds, and were wasted.
They could all have contributed so much more than they did to the WWF, if only they had been given the opportunity and the WWF hadnt bothered pushing much less talented guys (Test anyone?)
