Gut Check Contestants for 2013?

MINISTRYrising

Championship Contender
This year Was the first year of Gut Check in TNA and while there have been some teething problems and one or two things that still need to change, I can see a lot of potential with the concept and as long as they get the right contestants for 2013 I think Gut Check could be very successful next year, but my Question is. who should TNA select to take part as a gut check contestant next year and why.

my picks.

LOS BEN DEJOS
The word that jumps to mind when I think of Los Ben Dejos is UNIQUE. while they are not the best wrestlers in the world, they are very entertaining and with TNA really in need of a couple of new tag teams, Los Ben Dejos might just be the answer.

SAMURAY DEL SOL
The Guy is just amazing. If you think you had seen everything there is to see in wrestling, then you have not seen Samuray Del Sol. Every time I see him i'm impressed and if tna were to give him a shot at gut check, then he would not disapoint.

Prince Devitt, even though he isn't a rookie they can sell it as him attempting to break through in the States. He's a great wrestler and I think he would add something to the upper mid card.

I would suggest Luke Hawx. Good worker, good look. And he deserves another shot at television. I would also like to see a whole plot line with Chase Stevens. They could have him think he is showing up for a match, and it turns out to be a gut check match. "but I have world championship gold here in TNA. I am too good for gut check." but since the match is against someone he wants to beat up anyway, he shows for it and squashes the opponent (Zima Ion or whoever.) the next week, he shows up late for the judging round. When he is doing the kickout, he refuses to beg for a job, and actually insults the third judge who says "I was leaning toward saying yes, but now i vote no." Then he could join up with Morgan and Ryan.

Oh, and Petey Williams. Not that I think that this is a good idea, because I do not. But any excuse to get Williams back in TNA would be a good thing.

Don't ya know Gut Check is basically for their OVW minor leaguers to see if their ready yet and if not they still have an their OVW contract. As for people it'll be The Blossom Twins, Cliff Compton aka WWE's Domino will get shots in 2013.

Then why do they have Gut Check tryouts across the country and why are they earning a developmental contract if they already have a contract?

On topic I would say Sami Callihan. He's made a decent name for himself in the indies and I might be mistaken but I think WWE had interest in him at one point. He's still young enough that they could send him to OVW to package him how they want and fine tune his skill set before jumping to the main roster. He can cut decent enough promos to get by.

Hope they get Jigsaw (Rubix) back in, maybe he's happy where he is, but he was my favourite thing about Destination X this year. Great look, great talent. Could really put the spice back in the X-division!

Cant say I know too many other talents out there on the scene. Why did I even bother to post this!

I dont think they should have a gut check for a while. TNA already got a good amount of wrestlers from gut check that they dont need. Plus the X-division concept may be brought back in 2013 which would mean more wrestlers being signed. But the thing is TNA already has alot of people not being used on the shwo due to having too much wrestlers with the 2 hour sime slot. TNA dosen't need MORE wrestlers, they just need to replace the sucky wrestlers with better ones.

Also i forgot to mention with this Aces and 8's storyline, we could bge seeing a whole handful of guys making debut's and returns. In conclusion, TNA dosent need to bring up new guys for now. they just need to work with the wrestlers they already have. :)

I'd love to see Low-Ki get a shot at Gutcheck. I feel he has true main event potential and could be someone that can have the sort of success that Austin Aries has been having. The rare X-Division wrestler who could transition to the top of the card with ease, Low-Ki is still a fresh face to Hogan & Company and could have his slate cleaned upon his return. I hope this happens and I relish the opportunity to see Low-Ki get the shot at stardom Vince McMahon was unwilling to give.

For me if it is OVW guys, first and for most it has to be Mohammad Ali Vaez. Dude is great performer, and not since Bashir (kind of) have they had a truly anti american heel. Vaez is also VERY good on the mic and can carry a match. As far as carrying a match, he probably couldnt do it yet, but in do time and with the right training Mohammed could be the X Division guy that leads it back to prominence.

As far as out of the company (also talking about OVW ya trolls -_-), I'm thinking Mike Sydal. Now here me out, they need X Division guys, and Sydal is just as adventurous as his brother, Evan "Matt Sydal" Bourne. Now I'm not saying he's main event guy, BUT he could provide HUGE spots for the X Divison and bring back the popularity for the high flying risktakers that the X Division has sorely lacked.

Willie Mack

He's only 25 years old but Willie Mack has been tearing shit up over the past year or so, primarily in PWG. He has incredible agility for a dude his size and is just all around exciting to watch. I think this guy would get over huge in TNA if they built him up right and him vs. Joe is a dream match of mine. He's a big dude, but he can move.

Tim Donst

Another dude who is only 25 and who I think if TNA signed now could be an awesome fit on their roster. He's a solid wrestler and has gotten pretty good on the mic too over the past couple of years.

Pinkie Sanchez

His size might be a bit of a factor but I think he would fit TNA better than he would WWE. He is a beast on the mic and just like the other two he's like 24 or something.

If I was in charge, on top of those three just off the top of my head I would also give Sami Callihan, El Generico and Chuck Taylor all some TV time.

Kota ibushi,scorpio sky,senshi

They are three great wrestlers and that is what we need now for the x division

:lmao:

Thanks for the laugh guys, good ones.

And to the poster who attempted to suggest only guys from Ohio get brought onto Gut Check, you're incorrect. Joey Ryan never wrestled in Ohio Valley Wrestling in his entire life before being brought in for the segment, as everyone with the Internet knows he was/is based in the California region. And Christian York wasn't in Ohio at the time of his appearance on the show nor had he appeared for OVW in years. The majority of talent used has been young guys from OVW, but outside talent is applicable.

I don't like them using actual nobodies or trainees of talent such as Sam Shaw or Alex Silva. Christian York and Joey Ryan created the most buzz because they were known, were veterans and had paid their dues. It was like an underdog story of sorts and that's what people want to get behind. They need to bring in guys people will have heard of but who haven't gotten a break despite their efforts. TJ Perkins would be a great choice, been around the business for almost a decade, has experience in Japan, Mexico and the indies, isn't under contract and they've already had a sample in a dark match.

Cliff Compton is another perfect choice. People will remember him, whether good or bad as Domino from WWE. His name is pretty well known due to the endorsement of CM Punk, hes still young enough to contribute, has a good look, can wrestle and has experience, what more do you want? Chris Masters/Mordetzsky would be another great choice for several reasons. Hes been getting good reviews on the indies, he can speak, he has a good luck, before his release a lot of fans were behind him and most importantly he has a recognizable name. All pans out.

I also like the idea of Samuray Del Sol, but with him now featuring for CMLL I don't see many chances of them working out a deal. Hes one of Gabe Sapolsky's top guys and if hes working for CMLL he'd be making decent/good money.

Thanks for the laugh guys good one
WHy exactly do you need to call out our comments since tna also need a future star just like scorpio sk.kota ibushi is a well known veteran and the same for Senshi.

And I almost forgot to say tna needs more talented x dision wresters not really big guys he will be a nice to have but not needed

They offered Sky a position, he turned it down to play a role on WWE television. And why would Kota Ibushi work for TNA on a full-time basis when hes one of New Japan's top talents. Same with Prince Devitt, same with Low-Ki. Three guys manning the Junior Heavyweight division of New Japan, why in the blue hell would any of them participate in Gut Check? They don't need TNA, It'd be more-so TNA needing them.

I'm big on Sami Callahan...he has a decent look and I like his ring work. He worked a hell of a match against Fit Finlay in 2011.

Luke Hawx had grown on me recently, mainly because of his personality...

If I was to suggest someone from my indy region (NYC), I'd go with Chris "The Show" Steeler, he is awesome in the ring and is great with the fan interaction. Spartan had also been high on my list. He was recently trained at Taz's "dojo/finishing school" and had a tryout at FCW/NXT....a little small but good package.

If I wasn't at work I would be able to post videos of these guys in action...sorry.

What I would like to see is when the air GC have top talent from OVW perform against one another. Be sort like a ME if they had a regular show like NXT does. Lets see what these talents can do against similiar talent instead of more polished wrestlers
