Now this thread should spark some good-natured debate. The cruiserweight division of a federation has unlocked opportunities for many wrestlers to get over with the crowd and show off the versatility of the talent. In fact, one could argue that the cruiserweight division was WCW's saving grace in the first Monday Night Wars just as many argue the X-division was the only thing keeping TNA afloat. I've been watching quite a few matches in prep for this. What cruiserweight/light heavyweight feud over the years would you consider the best?
My pick: Ultimo Dragon vs. Jushin "Thunder" Lyger. These two guys had spent the better part of 15 years wrestling against each other and tagging up, and they're considered two of the best in the world. Their matches showed off the balance of power, speed, aerial ability, and technique and were definitely pleasing to the majority of crowds. Look up their match from Nitro (12/30/96) as an example of how well they meshed in/around the ring.
Runner-up: Dean Malenko vs. Chris Jericho. Arguably one of the few times that Malenko was taken seriously as a real star, these two feuded over the cruiserweight title with Jericho weaseling out of facing Malenko in any way he could. This feud also showed off an evolution in Malenko's "Iceman" persona.
