Gimmick Switch - Part 2

I'm going to stick witha simple format here, I name a wrestler and you tell me who could do better with their gimmick.

The gimmick I have chosen this time is Drew McIntyre's 'Chosen One'.

Apparantly chosen by WWE Chairman Vince McMahon, This gimmick has allowed Drew to bully other wrestlers ans even SmackDown GM Teddy Long. He's had defeats erased from the record books and has even been fired by T'Lo, just to be re-instated by Vince.

So, I ask you.....

Could anyone play this gimmick better?
And why?

Very nice thread, I like this one. The chosen one is a gimmick that can instantly elevate someone very high if they play it well. Judging by where Drew now is in the card, I'd say he failed to do as well as he could have.

OK, it has to be someone young an up-and-coming, that's the first premise I guess because a guy that's been there for a few years wouldn't make much sense as someone McMahon just suddenly decided to hand-pick.

So I'm thinking one of these three guys. Huskey Harris, Ezekiel Jackson or Tyler Reks, Chris Masters also being an outside possibility. Zeke and Harris are currently on the recieving end of pushes and this would be a great way to do it. Tyler Reks deserved more than he got when he debuted again on Smackdown only to be relegated back to supersars... putting an image to a name, I could most easily see Tyler Reks as "The Chosen One" of all these guys.

Masters is also a fair shout though because he is pretty irrelevant right now although the crowd does like him quite a bit for his level in the card. Him, Zeke and Reks I could see as guys that could "bully" other superstars and people like Teddy Long.

Ok, if I'm picking anyone of these four guys I would elect Harris. I just think he has the snyde arrogance that would be needed for the role and he has the physical girth to back it up and bully people. Only problem is that I haven't seen enough of him to say he would do a better job than Drew Mcintyre, but I think looks and personality wise, he would be a good fit.

I think giving Ted DiBiase the 'Chosen One' gimmick could work as well, rather than the Fortunate Son gimmick that is currently driving him into the ground.

Ted I think has the aggressiveness like Drew McIntyre and it can play into his second generation background. Maybe develop more of a full of himself personality based on being the chosen one and not just having money.

The chosen one has proven to be a tough gimmick, specially when you look at the last 2 examples: McIntyre and more important Elijah Burke. So my pick to play this gimmick has to be Curt Hawkins. For this gimmick I believe the guy has to be flashy and Hawkins can be. Besides is very good in the ring and good on the mic. AS the chosen you must display luxury and the feel like he is above everyone else. But most important if you are the CEO's pick he must appear more than once to support you. And this is the reason I believe this gimmick has failed in previous attempts. McMahon should follow trough, otherwise nobody will believe the guy has his support.

To me the chosen one gimmick would fit sheamus better than anyone because, well really he is. In his first year he won the WWE Championship and retired a veteran. and in his second won his second wwe title and won the KOTR . plus we all know that vince pushes the bigger, more masculine power houses so we know he fits in to the gimmick. nice thread btw.

i am definately digging this thread my man,now on to the topic.for the poster above that said Sheamus,well im sure that when Vince & HHH thought up this gimmick that they knew it would either be 1 of HHH boys in Drew & Sheamus.I think when they decided out of the 2 of them,they would give it to Drew figuring Sheamus' very different look,along with his background & great size,that he could get over easier without being the chosen 1.basicly im saying the WWE creative knew Drew would need more help than Sheamus to get over..!

Now to answer the threads question:YES-the wrestler i belive could use that gimmick & do more & even better with is would be none other than TEDDY HART.Now im pretty sure Vinny Mac wont give Teddy his 3rd chance but this is fantasy & in my wrestling world fantasy i could see a RAW episode where Vince comes out & cuts a promo bad mouthing The HITMAN,he could say how he screwed Bret,But when he did it he thought he might of screwed himself because he had been to the dungeon & witnessed all the teen harts,& he knew they would be the future of pro wrestling.and he knew they would be great for the WWE.So maybe screwing Bret was a bad move,or maybe it wasnt,because later on that november back in 97 he recieved a Hart try out video where 3 of the Hart clan personally thanked me for screwing Uncle Bret.Thats when i formed a father son relation ship with this man.he is like my son & he is "The chosen 1..."

out comes teddy.now if u have ever seen Teddy cut a promo u would hope the PG days were not here.Teddy could cut great promo's saying he is the Past,present,& future of the WWE, & Vince picked him to be the chosen 1 and to lead WWE into the next decade,in whitch he says he will dominate,...Teddy would kill it with that gimmick on a WWE stage....but its all fantasy,Drew is the chosen1 & me being a fan of his i have no problem with it,except he needs to get some gold around his waste 1st.but they need to build him like they use to in the mid 90's,like they did the stone cold,hbk,rock,hhh,
bret hart.He has one the IC belt,Tag-team belt, so draft him to Raw & let him have like a year long reighn with the US belt,let him break or come close to breaking Lex Lugers record US title reighn.after 300 days have him go for the WWE belt,i think cena did thaT.Drew would be great & gain lots of heat if he comes up on the records,and bad mouth the guys that held them,saying he is better and he was chosen by Vince to shatter all WWE records,and he will be the FACE OF PRO WRESTLING!!!
