How are they not "pushing" him. He made his debut by basically picking the biggest dog in the yard (Angle) and actually beating him.
First, the Angle feud was pre-Hogan. So that doesn't count. Yeah, I agree that when he first came into TNA he had a nice push, they made him look tough, they tried to put him over with the crowd. But since Hogan/Bischoff took over his character has become a coward and a main event jobber. They haven't put him in any big angles, he's just an afterthought right now. For Wolfe to become a main-eventer they have to establish him as one in the minds of the crowd and that takes an investment of time, which Hogan doesn't seem to be interested in doing at the moment.
You guys have to realize that matches are subject to the discretion of the wrestler most of the time. They decide what kind of match they want. Not the writers. Writers write segments and storylines. the wrestlers are left to come up with the moves they want to pull off in a short wrestling bout. Hogan has nothing to do with booking the way matches are wrestled.
HAHAHAHAHA, that's just stupid. Seriously, idiotic. Of course the bookers influence the match moron. They decide the outcome, the time limit, and many of the spots. Yes, wrestlers have some free reign to freestyle their work in the ring, but the quality of the match theyre able to deliver depends heavily on the time their given and what story/outcome is supposed to happen. If the bookers tell Wolfe that he has 5 minutes to put on a title-match and he has to job cleanly, well, that's not giving him much to work with and that's certainly not going to get him over with the fans (heel or face). Just stupid.
How long has it been since we saw a tower of london actually done and not being reversed
Wolfe could easily be the top heel in the company given some faith from the management, but this pretty much shows what they think of him. They won't even let him hit his finishing move. It's a waste. Wolfe is 32, not getting any younger. And he has a gimmick that has nice potential (really like Chealsea, the valet is a nice throw back to the old school days, and it still works to help get him over! She adds a more powerful aura to his character, but unfortunately it seems they might be be taking Chealsea away from him soon. I mean, Flair and Abyss have been involved with her more lately.) Wolfe is intelligent, good on the mic, and great in-ring worker. He always adds nice touches to his character,
like when about to catch a beating from Hogan he looks around with a panicked look on his face to see if he there's an escape route before charging and getting punched to the ground. Bottom line - Wolfe is a big time talent.
TNA will take notice of the ranking system and see that Wolfe SHOULD be a top heel for the company.
The ranking system is a bunch of bs. TNA just wants a way to stand out, to get fans involved, and get attention. They aren't going to actually follow the results of the polls. Their token gesture to the rankings and the fans was to give Wolfe a title shot and have him job to RVD in 5 mins. Yeah, thats a nice push. It's just a BS way to appear like you are trying to appease the fans who voted. Typical Eric Bischoff BS, because he thinks that all wrestling fans are inbred backlot hicks with IQ's below 75. He should try to remember that there are plenty of "smarts" out there and they can see through his garbage really fast.
