T.N.A. Against All Odds:
February 8th, 2009
106281_lg.jpg

Basically put this is exactly what the thread says. Discuss anything and everything T.N.A., as you believe it could consist of their up-coming Pay per view, Against All Odds.

The poster features Samoa Joe, A.J. Styles, Rhino & Team 3D. Since part of that team (Joe & Ray) are injured, my first guess is that they'll be back in time for this Pay per view.

So that, leads me to this.

Grudge Match: Samoa Joe v. Kevin Nash/Scott Steiner: Depending on whether or not he'll get out of the hospital, I would assume Joe's main target would be his "mentor" Kevin Nash. If Nash is unable to compete, then I would assume he'll either target Scott Steiner, Booker T., or Kurt Angle.

I wouldn't factor out some type of 5 against 5 Tag Team match as well, especially since this is T.N.A. M.E.M. (Angle, Steiner, Booker T., Sting & Kip/Nash :lmao:) v. Frontline (Rhino, Styles, Joe, Team 3D)

Grudge Match: Scott Steiner v. Petey Williams: If Team 3D & Joe will be returning from injury, since Petey was unofficially (or officially) the first, then he should be back as well. Obviously he'd want revenge, and the Pay per view is named for this type of thing. Little Pump v. Big Pump. My guess is Williams would win.

Legend's Championship: Booker T. v. Shane Sewell: Judging by the aftermath at the Genesis Pay per view, my first instant guess is Sewell is going to have a target on his back via Booker T.. and it'll lead to everyone's 'favorite' wrestler/referee gaining a Championship match. Lame.

'Insert Gimmick Here': Kurt Angle v. Mick Foley: Since Jarrett's likely going to be busted, bloodied and broken, I wouldn't doubt some type of hardcore match. I can't see why they'd blow their nut this early when they have so many multi-man clusterfucks they could include the two in, while building to Slammiversary/Bound For Glory, and the single's showdown that could happen then though.

Those are just some guesses. What are some of yours? Please remember to NOT list just a card, but also give reasons for why you believe that's going to happen. Thank You.

EDIT: Poster found by Rusty. Thank you Rusty.

So my card right now is this...

Grudge Match:
Scott Steiner vs. Mick Foley or Scott Steiner vs. Petey Williams

I don't wanna see it, I believe that anyone wants to see it, but... it will happen. After all Mick Foley was the man to DDT Steiner at Genesis, TNA is pretty much predictable... I hope for a Steiner vs. Petey match, because it's indeed much better.

TNA Roster Battle Royal

I don't how but they will do something like this just to put Hernandez over... again. He will probably beat two guys at the same time, just to hype him to the main-event match with Kurt Angle in the next PPV or so, before Sting battles Kurt Angle in my view.

Four Way for the World HeavyWeight Championship:
Sting vs. Kurt Angle vs. Fat Jobber No.1 vs. Jobber on Steroids No.2

Sting will lose it right here. Kurt Angle will be the Champion after this, I don't see it as the end of MEM, but the beggining of the end, Angle will win the match and at maybe LockDown! we will see Angle versus Sting for the belt with Sting as Face...

X-Division Championship Match:
Alex Shelley vs. Chris Sabin

Alex Shelley will defend the belt against his partner Chris Sabin. With the rematch being this good on paper I can only see a DQ finish to lead to another match between this two individuals in the near future, in the other hand, it could be Homicide cashing in is opportunity, but I don't see him winning, Motor City Machine Guns could cost him the shot, by Sabin attacking him right before he was going to hit his finisher or so.

Legends Championship: (I loled)
Booker T vs. Shane Sewell

I don't get it. Maybe they're right, Sewell is probably more a Legend than Booker T is right now, and knowing how TNA likes to book the matches this will likely end in a DQ finish, with Shane Sewell later joining the Frontline.

Tag Team Filler Match:
Samoa Joe and AJ Styles vs. Kevin Nash and Kip James

They have to continue this Frontline vs. Main-Event Mafia matches and I believe that Kip James is the only man left to be added to Kevin Nash corner, but then again, it's TNA you will never know.

I don't see how to put Rhino on this card, maybe he will help at this last filler match or even Jeff Jarrett, it's the beggining of the end for the Mafia after this PPV.

TheOneBigWill's 'early' T.N.A. Against All Odds Predictions:

T.N.A. Heavyweight Championship: Sting (c) & Kurt Angle v. Team 3D: As it previewed with Team 3D's request, it looks like this is going to be built. While a spoiler is already on the forum regarding the match, I won't ruin it for those who don't read them.

I will, however, say that this match does seem to have a very low-rent type of build behind it. Does that mean it should ever happen? NO! It's the top Championship in your company, and you're teasing the idea of having two of your top Tag Team Superstars who've barely ever graced the ring in single's action, competing for it.. much less, in a match against what could potentially be the best two Single's athletes in Professional Wrestling history.

Tag Team Championships: Beer Money, Inc. (c) v. Lethal Consequences: This match is already unofficially confirmed. Of course cards are subject to change, as is how Lethal & Creed found their way into the match-up last month at Genesis. My guess is it won't change though, this would and should be their first natural encounter.

As I said in my iMPACT! review, I would fully expect Beer Money, Inc to retain in a heelish manner to stretch this feud out. I wouldn't let Beer Money win, by roughly rolling over Lethal & Creed, and I definately wouldn't risk making Lethal & Creed look even more weaker like they honestly looked against Morgan & Abyss. I say Beer Money, Inc. retains.. but the feud continues on.

Grudge Match: Abyss v. Matt Morgan: In complete honesty, I can only hope this match happens. The sooner, the better. It'll get Morgan out of the way, possibly out of the company, and it'll (again, hopefully) return Abyss to his true form.

Did anyone else see iMPACT! when Abyss powerbombed whoever it was on Morgan? He looked like he was going to breakout into tears. What the fuck?! This is a man who's rolled in barb-fucking-wire, he's been ripped apart in matches against Sabu, the crazy, homicidal, suicidal, fucking death defying insane ass mother fucker.. and this big ass baby is crying me a river because he powerbombed someone accidentally on his fucking partner. Kill the humanity in Abyss, NOW!

Grudge Match: Scott Steiner v. Petey Williams: Greatest opening year feud T.N.A. could possibly run with. Petey Williams has a definate shot at becoming someone insanely important in this Frontline/M.E.M. feud, as he can go with Scott Steiner. I believe this.

While I question leaving Williams looking exactly like Steiner, I think the match-up is going to overshadow everything of what he looks like, and when it's all said and done.. Petey Williams might actually become the next "Big Pappa Pump". I can't wait for when these two finally get their hands on each other. I just hope it happens under two conditions. 1. No Disqualification rules, so Williams doesn't have to hold his anger back. & 2. On Pay per view, so commercials don't ruin it for me and the setting can be fitting.

Legend's Championship: Booker T. v. Shane Sewell or A.J. Styles (w/ Sewell as referee): The only other disappointing assumption is that the Wrestler turned Referee turned Wrestler again, might very well get his second match with T.N.A.. and it could very well be for the Legend's Championship. I think that's stupid, but if you looked at the backstage skit w/ Sewell & Booker T., mixed now with what happened on Meltdown.. Sewell about blew his load when looking at the title, after he grabbed it from Booker.. much the same way he blew his load everytime Bashir touched him.

I can only hope in complete honesty, that Styles is the guy that gets this title shot. Make Sewell the reason Booker loses, but don't let Sewell be the guy who beats him. Styles deserves this Championship, so his legacy as being the only guy to hold EVERY title in T.N.A. can be re-completed.

Knockout's Championship: Awesome Kong (c) v. O.D.B.: Christy Hemme may or may not have been the new face of this division. I honestly have an extremely hard time believing she would've ever defeated Kong, but thankfully we'll never know. O.D.B., however, is the only female in this division who can honestly make defeating Kong look like it's clean and without Kong being undestructable.. or weak against roll-ups.

I think O.D.B. would take it here, and the feud between the two might lead into Lockdown's cage setting.

Knockout's Grudge Tag Team Match: The Beautiful People v. Roxxi & Taylor Wilde: Obviously if I just had a ton of poo-like stuff dropped on me, after being pranked for what seems like monthes.. I'd want some fucking revenge. The Beautiful People return to trying to be important female wrestlers, and I feel they should/would take this one, against the meaningless team of Roxxi & Wilde.

X-Division Championship Rematch: Alex Shelley (c) v. Chris Saban: This hasn't been hinted at, or built at being a rematch, but I can hope, can't I? We'll see as future iMPACT!'s will obviously feature one, the other, or both.

Why have we not seen any mention of the Beautiful People getting a Tag Team match against Roxxi, Taylor Wilde & Daffney? I mean, is that a storyline strictly for iMPACT!? Surely not.

Also, iMPACT! ended with Samoa Joe looking as if he might have found a personality. If such is the case, you'd surely believe he'd get a match against someone.. yet I'm pretty sure Kevin Nash is still out of the question. So.. what's that leave him with?

Finally, A.J. Styles has all but been faded out of the picture as well. Has T.N.A. lost their mind? Samoa Joe & A.J. Styles are the assumed top two leaders of Frontline, much less two of your biggest draws.. and they don't even have matches, much less storylines, heading into this Pay per view.

That's typical TNA booking Will. TNA just assumes that people will stay over based on their names. Styles and Joe are insanely over, no question about that, but having them not even get a storyline with the show a week away is just irresponsible. Why in the world should 3D get a shot? If one of them is going to join the Mafia, couldn't they do that on free tv? Or even if they want to do it on PPV, couldn't Joe and Styles be in the main event and have 3D just do a run in? This is why the booking in TNA baffles me to no end. It remains the old guys getting first crack at everything and the young guns getting nothing.

Wait, this is tonight? People buy this shit? Booker T is going to lose the belt to a ref? These are all things that crossed my mind when I looked on their website today. This card looks like a pile of shit. It's getting to the stage where I'll still buy the DVDs, but I won't open the parcel straight away. It's that bad.

The main event is poor. When was the last time Sting put forth any effort in a match? Some might say he does it all the time. I think he's always been a lazy cunt, but now he's like a student in Heath Ledger Joker make up.

Ok so Angle was released by WWE, but he's still a commodity. Team 3D on the other hand were released because WWE had exhaused every available option for them, it's no different now in TNA. Oh no wait, WWE didn't try to push them as serious main event wrestlers.

Aren't Sting & Angle together in the MEM storyline? Aren't Team 3D main event wrestlers in TNA? The irony.

Awesome Kong is injured, so I hear. So instead of putting the belt on one of The Beautiful People it'll go on the annoying ODB. Annoying is fine I guess, if you're a heel. She's a face from what I remember.

Instead of Booker being involved with a ref shouldn't he be in a match with an established TNA mid carder instead? A member of LAX, Styles, Rhino or Joe. Where is Joe by the way?

Steiner vs. Williams, well, at least there's a reason for it. But it hardly does anything for your top stable (who are pretty much your only headliners) if they're facing X-Division noboddies.

Overall it looks like a pile of shit. What's next month, Destination X? Great, another Ultimate X match and the annual Trepidation X other wise known as Elevation X. A match where the only thing that happens is that wrestlers are legitimately scared instead of pretend scared.

TheOneBigWill's Early Predictions for T.N.A.’s Against All Odds 2009:

T.N.A. Heavyweight Championship: Fatal Four Way: Sting © v. Brother Ray v. Brother Devon v. Kurt Angle:
I’m still anything but sold on this being the Main Event for the evening. I honestly believe it may of worked if it were possibly a half of a Main Event, with like Joe, Styles, Foley or Jarrett being on the upper side of things.

I just can’t in good faith believe this will be anything more than a shitfest and a half. The Dudleys are a great Tag Team, and I’m sure they’ll work well in this match as such.. Unless they turn this four way into a four corner’s match, where only two guys can be in at once. Then it’s a pure shitfest.

Sting and Angle are the only, ONLY saving grace to this match, and not even the building underlining feud between them is going to save this Pay per view. My only hope is that everything massively swerves, and the M.E.M. kick Angle out of the group, instead of Sting. I’ve been waiting to see a massive heel Sting for quite some time, and I just don’t think its gonna happen. But it’d be nice. I believe Angle will win the title, if they’re going the route of Sting turning back face. Otherwise, here’s holding out to a decent swerve and a Sting full-on heel turn, and then maybe saving his reign as Champion.

Tag Team Championship: Beer Money, Inc. © v. Lethal Consequences:
Well, depending on how they play this off. This match will either be the greatest match of the night, or the worst. Creed got injured on iMPACT!, and by the looks of it, I question if they’d play him off having some type of broken arm injury. If that’s the case, this match is a reverse handicap match from the titles switched the last time these two met.

Besides all that, I just don’t honestly see Lethal and Creed winning the Championships here anyways. I seriously think Beer Money, Inc. will find a way to pull out a cheap victory, which will take this feud to next month, and possibly even drag out as long as Lockdown. Beer Money, Inc. are who I project to win and retain their titles.

X-Division Championship: Alex Shelley © v. Eric Young:
There are so many problems with this match. The first that jumps out at you, is this is Alex Shelley’s first Pay per view title defense, or possibly even his first title defense, not sure on that. At any rate.. It’s against Eric Young. You know, a guy that really isn’t involved highly with this division.

I get that T.N.A. wants their X-Division to be open to anyone, but they have the Legend’s title now as another mid-card title. So let Young face Booker T., and allow the smaller guys who can put on a high flying show of greatness to go after the *cough* cruiserweight like *cough* Championship.

If Alex Shelley loses his title to Eric Young, I might seriously consider no longer watching T.N.A. I liked Young in Team Canada. He’s sucked major ass since then, and why the fans are even continuing to pull behind him is beyond me. He’s got no outstanding talent. No outstanding look. The guy barely puts anything together in promos. Wow, he’s overcome his fear of his own fucking pyro.. Let’s crown him a Champion. NO!

I’m picking Alex Shelley to retain here, and judging by the new Rough Cut segments on the Muta wannabe, I think that’ll be the next Shelley feud. Sam picked on Homicide possibly cashing in here too. I’d of rather seen a healthy and well rested Shelley take on Homicide, than a just had a match Shelley (or Young) take on Homicide. Either way, I’m assuming Homicide will become Champion before the year’s end. Shelley should retain though.

Legend’s Championship: Booker T. © v. Shane Sewell:
It’s not a title match, it is a title match, it’s not a title match. Make up your fucking mind already. They announced on iMPACT! That is WAS a title match, yet their web-site still claims it’s not. And the pre-show I’m watching on satelite is running that its not. So either Don West fucked up the pre-show taping, or he fucked up the iMPACT! Taping, either way.. Don West fucked up, and that’s not hard to believe.

Now then, Booker T.. newly made mid-card Championship that’s still trying to get something going for it.. Referee. Do you honestly believe this makes for great viewing? No. At this rate, the 24/7 Hardcore title has more going for it than the Legend’s Championship.

I can’t seriously see Booker T. jobbing to an official. I can’t even see Shane Stool getting any offense in, but unfortunately I know I’ll be wrong on that account. Somehow, I just hope this match goes by quickly. I predict Booker T. will retain, unless it’s a non-title match, then I predict Shane Stool will win, allowing a future title match to take place.

Knockout’s Championship: Awesome Kong © v. O.D.B.:
I don’t have much to say about this. It’s one of the few matches on this card that make sense. O.D.B. should win the title here. I predict she will, especially without any outside interference from the Kongtourage. Or at least they aren’t suppose to interfere, I suppose that doesn’t mean they won’t.

O.D.B. seemingly wasn’t even suppose to get this shot though, as it all came about with Christy being injured. So on that note, I question if Hemme was literally meant to win the title at last month’s ppv. If so, that’s kinda sad. O.D.B. should win, I pick her to win. (whether the title comes with her or not, is another story)

Grudge Match: Scott Steiner v. Petey Williams:
My personal favorite match of the night, outside of the Tag titles match. I think this will generally be a great match-up, even on paper. Sure Steiner has the power advantage, but Williams can hit and move, and he’s proven that he could stand toe-to-toe with bigger guys. I think Williams will get the nod over Steiner here, as Steiner seems to like Williams.

The bigger question is where will this take either of them though? Will Williams go from here to the Legend’s title, or the X-Division title? Or will he just fade out? Will this feud continue into a gimmick (submission?) match?? Who knows. Petey Williams should get the victory though.

Grudge Match: Abyss v. Matt Morgan:
From what I read, Matt Morgan just had surgery to fix an infection. So he’ll A.) Be taped up heavily. And B.) Be even more shit in the ring, with the lack of things he seemingly would be able to do.

I predict this match ends before the bell even rings. I think Abyss will get to the weapons at the very top of this match, if it starts that is, and they’ll brawl all over the arena, getting the match just thrown out. Setting up a gimmick match for later down the road, with Morgan is healthy. NO contest in this.

Open Challenge: Brutus Magnus:
Hmmm, no Samoa Joe, no A.J. Styles, no Rhino.. And they’re ON the fucking poster. Either one of them will clearly destroy Magnus, or this Pay per view is a colossal failure.

This guy’s match on iMPACT! Was complete shit. Of course he was wrestling Sharkboy, so I’ll give him the benefit of the doubt, but seriously. He’s got a gimmick of a guy that should be strong. Not 5’9, and a buck 90. I can’t see this gimmick working.

Overall Thoughts:
I still think that without Joe, Styles, Rhino, Foley or Jarrett even being advertised for the card, or the show, that this is one big “pass” Pay per view. I can’t see how this show is meant to get more than possibly 100 buys, with the top act being a Tag team, a legend pushing being in the business too long, and a great athlete that’s health still constantly remains an issue.

I will say this much though. I firmly believe I’ll be shocked and impressed with tonight’s show. Why? Because I already think it’s going to be the end-all, be-all worst Pay per view T.N.A. has ever put on. So it’s not like you can go any further down than rock bottom.

LAWLZ Epic Failure to the max on this one. On the Against All Odds pre-show countdown, (ie. the taped segments that they do up weeks in advance) Don West announced that it'll be Rhino challenging Magnus.

So, I guess that means Joe & Styles are just sitting on their ass doing nothing for their companies Pay per view night. Well, at least Joe's got some sweet looking race care decal on his face now. That's sure taken him far.

KB's Thoughts on AAO as a whole

Well, TNA has done it again. They have managed to waste another three hours of my time. Nothing happened at this PPV, not a thing. The matches happened, people won, and the champions went home still champions. The biggest deal of the night was Styles and Joecoming back. So? Wouldn't it have been better to do that on Impact to get people to want to buy the PPV to see what they do to the Mafia? They were both put into good feuds with Mafia members, one of which is over the Legends Title so that's a plus I suppose. There were no suprises here and the few things I didn't see coming were just bad. Morgan and ODB lose why? As Justin said in the LD, this could have been on Impact. Rhyno was no where to be seen and Brutus got to beat up Sabin in a bad match. Again, why? I really don't get what Against All Odds has to do with this show. Against All Odds TNA will manage to put an Impact on PPV? Not a good show at all. Nothing bad in the ring other than Abyss/Morgan, but just felt like a collasal waste of time.

Darkshot77's review of Against All Odds 2009

I'd like to start this review with what was good about Against All Odds....Now on to the match by match breakdown.

Eric Young vs. Alex Shelley-Eh, replace Chris Sabin with a less entertaining Eric Young and you have this match in a nut shell. Young no-sells all of Shelly's finishers, Shelly wins via roll-up. He really deserves better than that, Shelly that is.

Petey Williams vs. Scott Steiner-Decent, considering it was Scott Steiner and Petey Willams. Best part was the Steiner Screwdriver, havent seen that in a while. But after the match is over Steiner wants to inflict more damage but Joes music hits and instead of a run in he cuts a promo, joe is adorned with a snake/arrow samoan tatoo on his face, not really sure what thats all about. In short Joe is targeting Steiner.

Fun little side note when they switch back to Tenay and West you can see in the back ground Petey Willams, who was toally and completely dominated btw, walking nonchalantly back up the ramp and through the tunnel, way to sell Petey.

Brutus Magnus vs. Chris Sabin-Rhyno was the supposed person and that would have worked, but Chris Sabin, Lance Rock would have been a much better choice. So Shelly has to get a sneaky roll up to beat Eric Young and sabin is fed to the dogs...nice job Pushing the Guns TNA. At the same time, who names finishers at TNA, cause he needs to be fired....lets take two words and just throw 'em together. First we have Hellevator (hell and elevator) and now we have the Tormentum (torment and momentum) and what a shittiy finisher it is. This match wins the chanter award, the got the Boring and the Fire Russo chants, good job guys.

ODB vs. Awesome Kong-Lemmie get this straight, Awesome Kong needs interfearance to beat Christy Hemme, and can pin ODB cleanly. This is the equivilant to The Big Show needing a run in to beat Jamie Noble but pins JBL clean. It makes no sense. Moving on

Booker T vs. Referee Shane Sewell-Laborious. A glorified squash, and the funny thing is, Booker needed interferance to...let me say this clearly...BEAT A FUCKING REFEREE. Booker wants to inflict more damage but AJ makes the save and steals the Legends Title. Booker is devastated.

Abyss vs. Matt Morgan-What in the world was this match...dose any body know...Abyss comes out with tacks...dosent use them, he brings in a kendo stick, trash cans and lids, dosent use them, and aperently only swinging a steel chair in front of a referee will get you DQ'd in a standard match, my bad a "Grudge Match." I also like the entry into the crowd for a total of....zero spots.

Lethal Consequences vs. Beer Money, Inc-MOTN. Very good, and as such i wont say much about it. Beer Money wins with underhanded tactics, more gay references we move on.

Kurt Angle vs. Brother Ray vs. Brother Devon vs. Sting-I was thinking to my self why dosent team 3D throw both those guys out of the ring and one of them lays down. Then they did. Then after it was broken up they dicided not to do it again, right. as said in the LD the ending "just happened" and was "anti-climatic" and as i have said before the reverse DDT is basteredized to the point where it is not a beleiveable finisher. I saw it and i was like, ok Brother Ray will kick out at 2...or not. it was really boreing and the match itself was highly unbeleiveable.

Final Thoughts: I find very little redeeming in this PPV, but being TNA I'm used to it.

Final Score: 2 out of 10

TheOneBigWill’s ‘take’ on T.N.A.’s Against All Odds: February 8th, 2009:

Opening Segment:
You know, outside of M.E.M. (minus Sting) getting out of a limo, I don’t think Sting, nor the Dudleys, had a clue how to work with the cars they arrived in. The Dudleys apparently didn’t understand that the trunk to their modified version of a truck didn’t open all the way, yet Don West tried playing it off as if that was a vehicle that they’d had for a while. :lmao: Meanwhile, Sting pulled up in one of the sweetest vehicles ever, yet apparently seemed shocked that the doors opened up-ward, instead of out-ward. This was T.N.A. meets Fast and the Furious, at it’s finest.

X-Division Championship: Alex Shelley © v. Eric Young:
The opening contest of the show at least didn’t disappoint too much. Young isn’t who I’d consider worthy to be in this division, but at least Shelley carried him to a decent match. Both men had their back and forth work going on, including a spot that looked like Young almost broke Shelley’s neck, by botching what seemed to be a DVD from the top rope, only to have Shelley try to get out of it, and Young just drop down, causing Shelley’s head and neck to violently snap across the top turnbuckle.

The only true disappointment to this contest, outside of Young being in it to begin with, was the finish. I understood the roll-up, cheap victory, for Shelley against Sabin to win the title. But is it going to be an every match thing now, where Shelley has to “fake” being hurt, only to get a quick roll-up and “steal” the victory away. Could they not have just easily allowed Shelley to win via a finisher? Apparently not.

Grudge Match: Scott Steiner v. Petey Williams:
This match wasn’t nearly what I was hoping it’d be. It bored me for the most part, as Steiner apparently has no clue how to make a cruiserweight look good. Meanwhile, Williams did everything he could to attempt staying in the match, but kept botching some of Steiner’s power moves, such as mistiming a clothesline and randomly falling on his own, before Steiner even extended his arm. :lmao:

Williams got some offense in and I was honestly thinking he’d win. I still don’t understand the purpose of Steiner winning this, especially with how he did. (Basically squashed Williams throughout, then finally hit a screwdriver which I hadn’t seen in ages, and pinned him) After the match, Steiner seemed to want more, but the lights went out and Samoa Joe’s music hit.

Joe came on the tron screen, and basically told Steiner he’s the first person on Joe’s hit list. Steiner was yelling for him to come down to the ring and we’ll do it now, while Don West apparently took that and translated into “Just look at Scott‘s face, he doesn‘t know what to think he‘s so scared.”

Open Challenge: Brutus Magnus:
So on the pre-show it’s announced that Rhino has accepted the challenge. Don West announced that Rhino had accepted the challenge, on the pre-show. During the actual Pay per view, Don West was generally excited to see who accepted. It ended up being Chris Sabin.

This proves two things to me. First, Don West is a moron. Second, not even Don West listens to what he says.

Brutus Magnus cuts a promo before the match, basically saying he isn’t the normal british, tea drinking, bad teeth having, (insert random other stereo-types on british people) then went on to claim he’s a real gladiator. Right…. So he bad mouths his own country, then claims he’s fictional. I see.

I suppose because Magnus is nothing more than a cruiserweight himself, this was the better option than a match against Rhino. Sabin delivered nicely, and Magnus didn’t really impress me anymore than he did on iMPACT! Of course the Gladiator remained undefeated. My guess is he’s building toward an X-Division title match w/ Shelley.

Knockout’s Championship: Awesome Kong © v. O.D.B.:
In all honesty, I think this match could’ve easily happened on iMPACT! Nothing about this match stuck out to me, and in the end Awesome Kong retained. So I have to ask the question.. Why?

She’s more or less ran through everyone in the division. Outside of now going back through everyone, or possibly being matched up against her own Kongtourage, I fail to see what’s next for her that would be of any interest or have any meaningful solution to help the Knockout’s.

Legend’s Championship: Booker T. © v. Shane Sewell:
I can’t believe they made Booker T. look like a bitch. That pretty much sums this up. Booker destroyed Stool throughout the entire match, until Stool “Hulk’d” up and started taking it to Booker T. This lead to Sharmell grabbing Stool’s foot, tripping him into a scissor’s kick, allowing Booker T. to pick up the victory.

Really? Really?! They couldn’t of just had Booker T. defeat the Referee in the same manner Scott defeated Petey Williams? They had to have his Wife basically help screw the OFFICIAL out of winning this match?

After the contest, much like the Steiner one, Booker apparently wanted to deliver more damage to the official, only for A.J. Styles to return and run Booker from the ring. Styles cut a promo, that will more or less lead him to becoming the only guy in the company to have won all 4 titles.

Grudge Match: Abyss v. Matt Morgan:
So, Morgan has a staff infection that West points out wasn’t nearly as bad as Nash’s, thus is why he could wrestle.. Yet it was still against Doctor’s orders. Pretty much like the Kong match, I fail to see the purpose in having an actual winner in this.

This match flat-out bored the shit outta me. Abyss and Morgan do NOT have any chemistry against each other in a regular match, what so ever. Abyss kept trying to use weapons, only for the official to deny it and continue to grab them from him. Yet the action spilled to the outside of the ring, and went everywhere. (apparently that was turned legal, at some point) Weapons ended up being used, but the official apparently didn’t care half way through anymore.

In the end, Abyss won with a second Black Hole Slam. Why? Why was there a winner, if it wasn’t going to be Morgan? Granted, I can’t stand Morgan, and this match proved how much he’s awful and sucks.. Even with weapons being remotely legal, but come out.. Abyss winning this match, pretty much killed the feud. Morgan will likely “attack” Abyss later with “unfinished business” but it’s not like it’ll mean anything.

Tag Team Championships: Beer Money, Inc. © v. Lethal Consequences:
I think the level of the Pay per view brought this match down a couple notches. I’m still giving it match of the night props, but not even this match could save the shitfest Against All Odds was.

The whole surrounding purpose of this was that Creed could barely use his arm. Yet, it was Lethal who ended up getting punched in the face with a chain, that cost them the match. Why even bother playing off an injury, if it’s not going to be the deciding factor in a match?

This match was by far the best of the night, but I still just felt it was missing something, and I’m not sure what.

T.N.A. Heavyweight Championship: Fatal Four Way: Sting © v. Brother Ray v. Brother Devon v. Kurt Angle:
I have to admit, by this point in the night, nothing could’ve saved this match from me not giving a shit. At one point, Angle got busted open around the eye.. And I’m not even sure how.

I’d have to say the greatest part of this match, was when Brother Ray intentionally laid down, and tried giving Devon the victory. I honestly wish it would’ve happened. How great would that have been for the company.. Devon, the lesser of the two Dudleys, the new Heavyweight Champion. At this rate, he’ll have a best of DVD out by Summer.. All containing Main Event matches he’s had this year.

Sting and Angle played off being buddy, buddy, but in the end Sting retained his Championship and Angle kept swearing and using foul language because of it. Sting smirked and kept replying to him with “We’re still Family, right Kurt?”

Overall Thoughts:
Overall, I don’t know what to say other than I can’t believe I seriously spent $30.00 on this fucking show. Cute Kip could’ve honestly and in all seriousness likely saved this Pay per view’s Main Event.

So Samoa Joe & A.J. Styles weren’t at all promoted for this Pay per view, you know, other than being ON THE FUCKING POSTER.. And in the end, Styles shows up and seems a lock to be the next Legend’s challenger/champion. Meanwhile, we get another stupid ass promo from Sloppy Joe, in which he can’t even figure out which way the camera is, because he keeps beginning the promos with his back to it. :disappointed:

Mick Foley came out to do commentary for the Main Event. After the match was over, Foley went to the ring, took the Championship from Sting, only to hand it back to him and raise his hand. WHAT THE FUCK FOR?! Do the officials now believe they’re above doing that? I would’ve got it, if Foley swerved Sting and clocked him with the belt.. but he didn’t. Nothing happened. Foley just took some spotlight, and that’s it. WHY?!

I would NOT advise anyone to pay for this, through a replay, or when it comes out on DVD. This show, flat-out, was the worst show T.N.A. has ever done. Nothing good came from it. And infact, don’t even you tube the shit in a month.. Because it’s time you’ll wish you had back, that won’t ever happen. 1 outta 10, simply because I enjoy Beer Money. That’s it.

OK after reading these reviews and then the spoilers for the next taping of Impact, I just don't get TNA's booking. Like, why is the free Impact so much more logical and simply better than the freaking PPV. Random matches that make no sense when the customer pays for it and then logical story lines that advance plot and characters on the free show. Do you think AJ, Rhino and Joe were all busy for the PPV because I don't. I'm jsut at a loss because it would eb my absolute dream to write for TNA and the people currently doing it are completely crazy...
