As if I didn't already consider Game_Rage a fucking tool of the highest order, I finally just read a bit of his Boxing vs. MMA thread and was flabbergasted by his bitter, juvenile stupidity. He reminds me of the elementary school wrestling coach in the WWE-themed episode of South Park from last season, constantly crying and moaning and bitching because something he loves is no longer relevant and has been replaced by something with far more mainstream appeal.

MMA > Boxing, all fucking day. Fedor would make Floyd Mayweather or Manny Pacqiao his punk bitch with ease in a ring.

Now I would much rather watch a good boxing contest than an MMA fight but even I know an MMA fighter would beat a boxer the vast majority of the time.

Is the prime example of this not the infamous crossover 'fight' between Antonio Inoki and Muhammed Ali?

Boxing promoters realised that one its all time greats was going to get mauled so badly that they imposed so many ridiculous rules on Inoki and yet he still managed to get a draw from a seated position. Truly an embarrassment to boxing that should never have taken place

I've never actually read a Gelgarin post, I haven't found any. Then again I haven't hardly looked. Wills posts usually have some meaning though and aren't 99% fluff. Or at least I'm sure they are if I read one.

Also, I think the boxers are being sold short. You must realize that those hands are so much faster than these martial artists have seen, and when they make a move for a takedown, odds are they're going to get caught square on the jaw. Could Mike Brown stand up after being clocked by Pac-Manny sans boxing glove? We don't know.

Obviously, if the boxer was taken off his feet, it's game over. But he has a good shot.
