Galloway Injured!

ShinChan

Gone. For. Good.
Drew Galloway said:
Apologies to everyone, I hate missing shows but I took a nasty knock last week that will keep me out the ring for the next couple of weeks

Galloway posted the above on his Twitter account.

He's supposed to face Aron Rex for the Inaugral Impact Grand Championship at Bound For Glory on 2 October.

There's no word if he would be able to wrestle Rex at Bound For Glory. And there's no information about his injury either.

I hope that he gets healthy soon.

"Bound For Glory" may have lost one of their big matches and that's a problem. This match had a good backstory behind it. Not only did Galloway and Rex had a personal vendetta against each other, but it also had a whole tournament and a new championship. Whatever the plan may be, I think that the safest bet would be to give Rex the championship now. That way, Galloway can return and be inserted into the title picture with a new angle to the scene because of his injury.

I expect Eli Drake to take his spot for the match, which is a bummer since it has no backstory to it. Personally I wouldn't mind having Cody Rhodes and Aron Rex square off, but that would also be a simple exhibition match for a championship with a bigger name and it would be bad business to have Rhodes debut to a loss.

This whole Grand Championship has been a fiasco and I don't like it at all. Would've been best served with a straight one on one match. I hope Galloway gets well soon enough though.

Yeah, I think Spoderman has it right — I'd imagine if he can't go it's Drake who'll get the nod to face Rex at BFG. But I disagree that Rex will win. I think they'll end up giving it to Drake, because I foresaw Galloway coming out of BFG with the title before this. It would have continued their relationship and given Rex a feud to carry beyond BFG. In this case I think it'll just end up being Drake taking his place.

Drake/Rex did have a match this past week on Impact and traded insults, so there's something there to work with.

TNA probably pulled him from any events in order to give him time to rest/heal by BFG.
I believe Galloway will try to battle through the injury for that match, and then if needed take a leave of absence.
(They could always make the winner of the "Bound for Gold" match, Drew's replacement)

*Hopefully they change the length of these Grand championship rounds to 5 minutes for ppvs.*

I'd rather see James Storm than Drake. Drake is charismatic, but still a little too green for my taste. Have storm return from his "weird" suspension and beat the snot out of that glorified jobber Aron Rexx or whatever that bum calls himself these days.

I would bet money money that Drew will be good to go at BFG. His statement reads to me that he was pulled from other shows to provide him ample time to prepare for his TNA priorities. Even if he can get to 75% he should be good to go. It is not as if he will need to go wrestle some epic bout thanks to the GC Division rules.

However if the injury does prevent him from competing it will be interesting to see how TNA moves forward. The biggest factor, when do they film next and how far out will those episodes stretch?

I think he'll compete at BFG as well, there doesn't seem to be much information on when the 'knock' was picked up, but if Galloway is resting up for a couple of weeks it sounds more like a precaution to make sure he makes it to BFG for his match.

TNA has made an official announcement that Galloway won't be competing at BFG. They've also noted there is no timetable for his return, and that an announcement is coming shortly on what will happen regarding the Grand Championship Final.

That's a pretty bad timing for an injury. I mean injuries suck but this one sucks even more.

TNA has replaced Galloway with Eddie Edwards to face against Aron Rex for Impact Grand Championship. Plus Galloway is teasing his interference in this match.

There's no logical reason to put the title on Eddie Edwards. Rex is the only logical option here to get the win.
