Frontier Martial-Arts Wrestling and WEW defunct or not?!

I have been a bit confused for a few years now about the ECW of the Orient, FMW. I am aware the company shut down in 2002 but why are their titles still active and what was FMW's relationship to World Entertainment Wrestling? What is Apache Army and what is there direct relationship to either of the latter federations? According to wikipedia the FMW/WEW Tag team titles are still being defended as well with the most recent champs being crowned in 2009. I also don't understand why some WEW titles predate 2002 if WEW took over what was left of FMW.

The FMW/WEW Hardcore Tag Team titles were active because Big Japan Pro Wrestling picked up their rights and licensing after FMW closed down, then Kaientai Dojo, another Japanese indy bought the rights to the titles and they've been using them since.

Also, the WEW doesn't stand for the WEW promotion of women's wrestling or any other promotion, the WEW was the name given to FMW's governing body for titles, similar to the NWA or IWGP names.
