Frank Lampard Argues With Radio Host

Frank Lampard phoned to talk to James O'Brien from LBC Radio and just completely tore into him because O'Brien was making comments about Lampard based on a newspaper story which might not have been 100% accurate as a lot of stories are fabricated to make people in the public eye look like mugs.

I have a lot of respect for Frank after this as it shows that he won't let anyone try and make him look stupid.

The thing I loved most is that O'Brien was speechless most of the time.

Frank earned a lot of respect off of me for this. I didn't like the guy at all before, but this proved he has guts. He backed himself up when the radio host was going on about things he didn't have a clue about. His ex said them when she was drunk, and for phoning up & explaining everything and defending himself, it showed that he's got character. I admire that. Good on you Frank.

Yeah well said Lamps he deffo put that radio host in his place. I agree with what he's saying it must be hard coming out of a bar and the next day see all over the papers reports that you've been unfaithful. It deffinatly would piss me off. Well said Frank Lampard

Brilliant stuff Frank. As a practicing sports journalist, it pisses me off seeing other journalists use footballers private lives as a way of writing a story. A sportsman should be judged by his performances on the pitch, and on rare occasions his off field dealings with his club (contract disputes, transfers) but NEVER their personal life.

I have always found Lampard to be an exceptional footballer, but his actions here have made me respect the man too. The radio DJ should have done some of his own research. You cannot go off a story from one paper. It is ludicrous. He should have known it was the anniversary of Lampard's mother's death anyway. If he tried his own research he would have known this.

Due to these so called journalists, other journalists with good intentions of finding a good sports story are turned down from the players as they think all journalists are like this idiot.
