Forgotten Gems vol.1

Dr. Mantis Toboggan, M.D.

Dog The Bounty Hunter
I see people starting series of threads on here all the time so I thought I would try it out. Forgotten Gems will be about good matches that not a lot of people talk about.
For the first installment I picked
Chris Jericho vs. Ricky Steamboat- Backlash 2009

IMO this is an awesome match and proved Steamboat still had one good match left in him. Thoughts?

Will the next instalment be JBL vs Finaly from WrestleMania 24 or do all WrestleMania matches live in infamy?

Mysterio vs. Guerrero from Judgment Day 2005

I've been debating for a week whether it should crack my Fave Five.
Want a better Guerrero vs Mysterio match which is more qualified for the label of "forgotten gem"? June 2006 on SmackDown. Far more forgotten. Outside of Halloween Havoc, easily the best match they had together.

Chris Jericho vs. Chris Benoit at Summerslam 2000. Two out of three falls. Rarely see this mentioned.
The action is fine but I wouldn't be surprised if three quick-fire falls like that between two great wrestlers irk some people. Should have been better.

Is this sarcasm? Do you not like Jericho/Steamboat?
It's not sarcasm. I like Finlay-JBL and it never seems to get the credit it deserves. But nothing from Mania is really "forgotten," so my point stands.

As for Steamboat-Jericho, I don't think it's forgotten. We're only a couple years out and it's an IWC wet-dream that took place on PPV and is universally regarded as something that should have taken place at WrestleMania. I can name you some quality forgotten matches from that time period, but Steamboat-Jericho isn't one that jumps out at me.

Here's a real forgotten gem:

You're welcome.

From Vengeance 2006.

That's more like it.

What I mean by forgotten is that I never see anyone posting, referencing, or even talking about this match at all really. Basically what I want to do is remind people of these great matches that took place in any generation or time period really. I have watched JBL-Finlay once, and that was during the ppv. I don't remember much of it but if you say it's a forgotten gem I'll trust your judgment and watch it ;)

I consider this to be a forgotten gem no one talks about much. Great match IMO

Many people remember Booker and Benoit feuding over the TV Title in WCW, but a certain wee man from Norn Iron had a pretty impressive cameo in the storyline...

Probably to me the most entertaining tag match at mania since in the last eight years.
