Sorry if the link does not work but the article should be easy to find on grantland.com.

This is not so much an article as it is a rap sheet of all of Ric Flair's marriages, scandals and court cases over the past 30 years. It is definitely not for the biggest of Flair marks. I knew he had a sordid past but I never realized the magnitude. My jaw was on the floor the whole time I read the article.

I put it in General Spam because it really is more about Flair personally than his wrestling legacy and I don't expect many responses or a lot of discussion will come from this because there is not much to say from it. It just is what it is and I found it to be a good read.

I am interested in hearing what other people think.

Read the entire article and all I can say is, his second wife fucked him over. She's the reason for his massive debts and yet he's the main person whose being affected by it.

And, Flair supposedly competes with a heart condition named alcoholic cardiomyopathy, as well as admitting that he has an issue with alcohol(Not those exact words, what is posted is that when asked in a 2010 court hearing if he endulges in alcohol or drugs he circled alcohol and wrote above it "a lot") and he has recently been evicted from his own home.

Feel sorry for the dude, love Ric Flair, still love the dude to this day. Last week he WAS Impact Wrestling, but some of the circumstances he finds himself in are ridiculous. It really is a thing of Ric not being able to seperate Ric Flair from Richard Fleihr, this is proof he lived his character in every way we saw on television.

To say it isn't for the biggest Flair mark would be an understatement. If you are a fan of the business, you knew many of the things the article spoke of. Many not to the depths it goes into, but to say any of it is a secret would be untrue. The way I view it is that as a Flair fan, you have to separate the two. Ric Flair is the greatest professional wrestler of all time. Period. Draw, mic skills, charisma, work, etc. Richard Fleihr has had a tumultuous time over the years, brought on by his belief in lavish living and spending to excess. To a certain degree, he is what he professed to be: the alpha male, magnified. Who among us would not like to spend without regard? Numerous times he's admitted to his inability to distinguish himself from his persona. In his High Spots shoot video, his reasoning is that "Ric Flair makes money, Richard Fleihr doesn't." Fair enough. TNA is still willing to pay him upwards of $22,000 per appearance to be "The Nature Boy." Not bad. While I agree he shouldn't borrow money with no intent to repay it, perhaps he believes that eventually one of those business ventures will succeed and all his financial ills will be cured. Unfortunately, such has not been the case.
