I found out a couple of hours ago that tna relsead sonjay dutt this sucks sonjay was one of tna top young talent there was plenty of things he could of down he could been built to be a contender for the x divsion title be apart of the frontline storyline he could been in a tag team with sheik abdul bashir but no they relsead him cause they could not come to turn in the contract even thought i new this was going to happen eventually but since its happen im mad he was one of my favorite tna wrestler he should of been used more and pushed and he also gives your company rateings from india i heard also he is interested in going to wwe lets hope he dose not get screwed like colt cabanna did anyway what are your thoughts on this

Note : i hope this is not spamming because if it is removed it if you must

Ya he might end up going to WWE in which case he'll most likely be put into a team with the Great Khali with Ranjin Singh as his manager. He'll have a sterotypical Indian gimmick and he'll go by the ring name "The Little Khali". Strap yourselves in and get ready for the ride.

TNA is starting to lose its Luster. They are in Financial Trouble, Like everybody else, and cant seem to find a way out. Dumping The Young, Promising Talent Is Not The Way To Go !

Sonjay was great and underrated, his last fued with his former best friend Jay Lethal was overdone. Sonjay really should have been a top contender for the X-Division title like thewrestlinghero said and he could put on some great matches, so long Sonjay Dutt and like WWE says: "I hope you the best in your future endeavors"

TNA is stupid, its so hard to stand up for it now. They keep guys like Brutus Magnus and Shark Boy but they get rid of Sonjay and Petey. WWE should take Sonjay, imagine sonjay vs bourne and kofi

I liked Sonjay and thought he really came into his own in the Lethal Val feud. His was a decent in ring performer, he had a character, and his mic skills were decent. WHile pretty much any wrestler in TNA is replaceable and this likely won't make any difference, I'm dissapointed he's gone.

With him and Petey both gone, the X-Division is slowly wasting away. We have the guns, Young, Lethal, Creed, Bashir, who else? Maybe this means TNA is looking to rehaul the division and bring in new fresh guys, who knows?

So while the release isn't that big of a deal I think the x-division just lost another solid guy who helped the division stay entertaining. I don't see Sonjay ever going to WWE and being sucessful, so I wish him luck in whatever he does.

It would be smart for WWE to grab dutt and williams, it would add some fresh faces to the us/ic title picture.

It isnt like they were major stars anymore, Dutt wasnt used creatively in months, he was relegated to jobbing in the X-Division, but Petey was a suprise, seeing as he was one of the most over superstars in the company. However, i dobt they will leave a large gap to fill. I can see Sonjay going to WWE, working wih The Great Khali perhaps, whereas it appears that Petey will return to Canada, and maybe wrestle for Scott D'Amore's BCW

Holy crap dude, change that fucking sig.

Anyways, Dutt leaving is a shame. He was a potential X Division Champ, but TNA just wasted him away. He was a real great guy to watch and his feud with Lethal was very entertaining. Perhaps he'll go to WWE and possibly put on amazing feuds with the likes of Rey, Kofi, and Bourne. Hopefully he'll keep his happy-go-lucky Indian stereotype and form a bit of a team with Khali, lol.

Dutt was one of the most underrated guys in TNA. I'm not a longtime tna follower till recently but everytime I saw him he pulled off a good performance. He is so smooth in the ring and never seems to botch the crazy moves he did. He was also decent on the mic. Hopefully WWE will pick him up and do something with him. Like someone mentioned there are possibilities with matches with people like Mysterio/Kofi/Bourne/Punk. Or maybe land on ECW or even do something with Khali maybe form a coalition or something since there both Indian..

I haven't watched TNA in a few months, but this comes as a surprise. I had stopped watching shortly after the feud with Lethal, and figured he'd be on top of the X Division for a while.

The problem, in my opinion, could be that they had him and Bashir both on top, and there's only enough hate for one of them. He was solid in the ring, but definitely could use some work on the mic. If he goes to WWE, I think it'd be a mistake. He's doesn't have the same look as a majority of the roster, and would end up in the same boat as Jimmy Wang Yang or Jamie Noble.

Hey, just be glad they didn't release top talent, you know, people that matter,
like Scott Steiner or Matt Morgan.
With the money they save on Petey and Dutt, they might make be able to finally
bring in main event stars of the caliber of Viscera or Snitsky.
<sarcasm mode off>

Seriously, I practically stopped watching TNA because they seem intent in being
WWE light, they copy everything, the WWE releases talent ?
TNA starts releasing talent.
They should have done the opposite, and instead of relasing talent, they should have
saved money by cutting down their PPV's, like many suggested, invest in a PR firm
to make the brand more prominent, and when the WWE goes rated PG, TNA should have
gone rated R.
If TNA is determined to cut costs on talent, they should release Vince Russo first, then
Don Wess, whom I consider the worst announcer in pro wrestling history, including
Adamly.
But relasing Williams and Dutt ?
That's like cutting your legs off before a race.

What would the WWE do with them? Name one guy that held a title or even had a decent push in TNA and had never had a push with WCW WWE or WWE and went to the WWE and got a push. Brown, Harris, Kaz all big in TNA and got nothing in WWE so what would make these guys any different(CMP was a joke in TNA)? You may can argue Killings but he had a semi push with WWE prior to his NWA Heavyweight Championship days. So while Petey is one of those guys that non wrestling fans can watch one match and will remember him but that doesnt mean crap to the WWE and if they do show up i would watch it like i watch Kevin Nash walk, knowing every move could be the last

What would WWE want with Sonjay Dutt? He's solid, but that's about it. He's always just been one of those wrestlers who makes up the roster. Somebody to fill a match or to get squashed if needed.

WWE also has no cruiserweight division, and they have drug testing.

Neither are really a suprise, Petey had guys likes Roode, Storm etc. dominating the mid-card. Petey's style isn't suited to spot fest which is the x-division, so TNA probably didnt know what to do with him. Sonjay Dutt is just your run of the mill crusierweight so hardly suprising.

Dutt isn't going to WWE so we mine as well forget that now. It's rare for WWE to take TNA Leftovers, unless they specifically express interest and make an effort to reach out to the person, like Christian or Gail Kim. There has clearly been no interest shown by WWE for Sonjay Dutt.

But again, Petey leaves. No Dutt. Christian left. Angle will be leaving once his contract is up. The Guns are talking about leaving.

All the writing should be on the wall for TNA at this point.

Just a damn shame. I will not argue that Petey or Sonjay were indispensable because they were not. They were however the wrestlers that brought TNA to the big dance and wrestlers I really enjoyed watching. As for the guy who says Petey's style isn't suited for TNA's spotfests, you have to be genuinely kidding me. Petey was and still IS a spotfest! With Eric Young and Jimmy Rave, that makes 4 very decent wrestlers that have been released recently. Not out of this world, main event material mind you, but still wrestlers that are simply great when filling up a roster. These were young, talented and reliable athletes that brought, or in the long run, could bring something to the table. Some of you might not give a damn about these guys but they were still an important part of TNA's young legacy, its upbringing.

But hey, I guess it's that much more important to find and give more time to people who really need it like Angle and Sting! I know they are the big ticket but this is getting ridiculous... The one guy that got a real push from the MEM storyline is the guy that needed it the least: Kurt Angle... And I apologize for veering off topic. :)

This is a damn shame. Why release guys who brought you to the big dance(Petey & Sonjay) & keep 50 year olds who aren't worth a damn anymore. Petey was doing so well as it looked like to me that he was gonna get elevated big time but yet he is now gone. The idiotic TNA creative team didn't do a damn thing with Sonjay & now he's gone. Angle & Sting don't need the damn time that the younger stars deserve plain & simple. Gee I wonder who the next young wrestler who brought them to the big dance is gonna get released?

I can't beleive they released Petey Williams he was great hopefully he will end up on ECW because WWE will take interest but seriously releasing two people who helped build your company from nothing to getting a weekly broadcast on Spike at Universal Studios.
Dutt has almost no hope of getting into WWE it's been to long. I can't beleive they released him after that huge angle with him Lethal and So Cal Val he was one of the most hated heels in TNA then you just release him. Not smart TNA.
Like what was said before Angle who is the most hated man in TNA is getting a massive push even though he's leaving once his contract is up. MCMG are thinking about leaving. That leaves Sting, Booker T, Lethal Consequences, Abyss and a few others to carry TNA they're are going to go bankrupt unless they hold on to they're talent.

I thought you people were ment to be smart wrestling fans. Sure Sonjay Dutt could prefrom in good high flying x division matches but you people fail to see the big picture. Dutt never drew any money & probably never will, He is balding which is not a very good look plus he is on steroids or HGH which in turn has gave him the most disgusting back acne this side of Gene Snitksy.

All people harp on about is the same old shit about TNA Vince Russo,WWE rejects,Petey Williams, Scott Steiner cant wrestle, Kevin Nash cant wrestle, the booking is shit blah blah blah blah blah

Yet those are the same people who would be buzzing if TNA signed 'Shelton i have no charisma & cant cut a promo' Benjamin if he were ever realeased by WWE for whatever reason.

The chances of WWE signing Dutt or pretty non existant.

You lot are all the same sure you hate Nash,Steiner, Team 3D, Jarrett, Foley, Booker T etc etc but without them nobody would watch TNA becuase i sure as hell wouldt watch TNA to see Dutt, Eric Young, Petey Williams, etc.

Casual fans watch TNA to see the big stars too & the casual fans make up most of the audience.

I read an article here on Wrestlezone a few months ago about TNA needing to build for the future due to all the older talent they have. But now it seems that they are going with a new direction to bring in some fresh faces. WTF?!?!? I realize that Williams and Dutt have been in TNA for quite a while now but so has AJ Styles and Samoa Joe but do you think TNA will release them? Hell no! I think what TNA did was stupid and senseless, but they will pay for it down the line.

tna had to make cuts and williams and dutt both suck i would have cut them to

:smashfreakB: Are you serious? they don't suck man. I have never seen a finisher like Petey Williams...and you barely see a Indian wrestler who can wrestle like Dutt. They actually made TNA excited to watch....now I got no idea what they are going to do.

I was shocked when I read they were releasing Petey, honestly Sonjay I wasn't as surprised to see (nor the Rock N' Rave Infection), not that I don't think Sonjay had nice, good, exciting matches but rather I didn't really like his guru gimmick (never really went anywhere) or the extremely long, drawn-out, thing with pining over Val then taking her from Jay Lethal.

I could see either ending up in WWE after the reactions other wrestlers of/or around their size that have made it in WWE (i.e. Evan Bourne/Matt Sydal). And as for the comment someone made about no one leaving TNA and going to WWE and being better off what about CM Punk? Sure TNA wasn't the only company he had worked for but it was the only one at the time on national television.
