WWE officials notified Bright House Network Monday that they have opted to cease their affiliation with the Florida based sports network as they are shutting down Florida Championship Wrestling effective immediately. Florida Championship Wrestling programming, which was taped last Thursday in Tampa, Florida, will cease to air on the network in three weeks.

Everyone involved with Florida Championship Wrestling will relocate to WWE's homebase in Stamford, Connecticut until a further decision regarding the developmental program is made.

WWE employees were given the impression that a developmental promotion will ultimately open in Connecticut with the possibility of a second at an undetermined location.

Unsurprising in my opinion, given that developmental territory changes have always occurred with a change in management. Wonder how many will make the cut to the new developmental territory. Not a lot made the jump from DSW and OVW if I remember correctly.

John Cena never had anything to do with FCW. He was in OVW, and by the time FCW opened, he was a multi-time WWE/World Heavyweight Champion who was already making movies.

FCW opened in 2007.

Sheamus is the closest to a guy being made by FCW. He spent 5 years or so in Europe before signing a developmental deal and being in FCW for a while. Same with non-star Drew McIntyre. Wade Barrett to a lesser extent as well.

But look at the theme, these guys all learned their craft internationally, then came to FCW (where what they learned is unknown), before getting over in WWE.
