Favorite Sports TV Show

Welcome to My (And Not Sly's) House
There are a lot to pick from: Sportscenter, Sportsnation, Around the Horn, PTI, Outside the Lines, Baseball Tonight, Jim Rome is Burning, NFL Live, College Gameday and any others I'm forgetting.

I'll go with PTI. They're old and they're opinionated but it's always awesome to watch Wilbon go off on someone or something and Tony rattling on about some completely random metaphor and doing some stupid joke. It's basic sports chatting and the format is perfect. What is your favorite?

Edit: this doesn't have to be from ESPN. They just have more than anyone else.

Hmmm, I also like PTI, and NBA tonight is a great show as well, but I'll go with Sportscenter. Such an informative show, and all the highlights and reports are top notch, and ocassionally you'll have guys like Stu-Scott and Scott Van Pelt who add some humor to the show.

Around the Horn. I've watched this show since Max Kellerman was its host. All the guests are entertaining, and their back and forth is great. The favs are Cowlishaw and Paige. Reali is great as a host. Its just a fun show to watch.

I'm gonna do a top three because I cant decide.

- Sportscenter: For the obvious reasons. Its the best way to get all the necessary information on the previous day in sports. Not only is it informative, but it also pretty fun when you have the right hosts such as Buccigross and SVP. My two complaints are that they tend to over-cover big stories and they dont cover hockey enough. Other than that, its a must watch for any sports fan.

- Around the Horn: The guys (and girl) provide some great insight into the top stories of the day in a game show type atmosphere. I think its easily the most fun way to get your sports information.

- Baseball Tonight: Baseball is my favorite sport by far and having a show that goes in depth into baseball is great to have. The guys are smart, especially Tim Kurkjian, and they usually cover what you need to know from each game. And of course, good ol' web gems.

I can't decide between 2, so here they both are:

-PTI. The back and forth between Wilbon and Kornheiser is extremely entertaining, and the fast paced nature of the show and each story allows you to not be bombarded with an overabundance of any one subject.

-MLB Tonight (on MLB Network). This is the best recap/in-progress show in all of American Sports. I tend to enjoy most of the hosts/analysts, and the live cut-ins mean that you can almost always catch the big moments each day.

PTI is the clear winner for me. I love Tony and Mike. They work well together and Wilbon is just awesome in his own right. Even when they have replacements on it is still a top notch show. I also enjoy Mike and Mike in the Morning. Not technically a show, though they have the show air live on ESPN2 and they are the perfect match for a sports talk show.

My favorite Sports TV show is E 60 on Espn. I think this is a really good sports show that not only talks about professional athletes but it also has inspirational stories from non professionals and many other cool stories. It's a really good show that I always watch.

It's b/w Around the Horn and Sportsnation for me. I used to love Paige and Mariotti's back and forth battles everyday, but since Jay went upside a woman's head the show hasn't been the same.

While Sportsnation isn't the exact show you would want to go to for spot on information and opinions, the little segments they have with the web videos and poll games make up for it. It's one of the funniest sports shows I've ever seen.

Sportscenter- Informative, entertaining, and the LA version with Stan Verrett and Neil Everett make the show even better.

PTI- I love the way that Kornheiser and Wilbon go back and forth, and they're entertaining, and give their perspective on sports news.

PTI is one hell of a show. I always enjoy listening to Wilbon and Kornhesier argue, and the banter between these two can be very funny. I love PTI, but I'm going to have to go with Inside The NBA on TNT. This has to be the most entertaining post game show. Charles Barkley, Ernie Johnson, and Kenny Smith have great chemistry, and they do a good job at recapping the games. There have been times where I have literally cried while laughing at some of arguments between Kenny and Charles. They can be so funny. The pre game show is also fun to watch.

I really do miss Best Damn Sports Show. That was one of my FAVORITE shows ever. The good mix of Tom Arnold, Chris Rose, Rodney Peete, Rob Dibble, and John Sallie, and their various wacky guests and other spots they did. I really thought that was the funniest thing around, they kept it light hearted and would make it a good mix of sports and entertainment. It had a mix of regular celebs and sports figures. I enjoyed it because it made me get more into the sports in general. The only problem was, they tended to do many repeat episodes and that wasn't good. But my all time favorite show had an April Fool's Day prank on the cast where Tom Arnold and Michael Strahan got into a 'fight' and the other cast members thought it was real. I miss that show dearly.

I do enjoy watching TNT's NBA coverage, with Charles Barkley and the rest of the crew. They have a great mix of humor and facts. I love how they always take time to do some funny photos or make fun of someone. Its a good time all around, I know they don't have a specific name for their show, its just NBA coverage, but I like their witty banter.

Then I also like SportsNation. That has to be one of the silliest shows, and they are great with their cheers, and jeers, and polls they do. I love how they show viral videos. I liked when they were at West Point and were polling the crowd. They are very good when they have callers call in pretending to be the 'sports' people in the news. Always good for a laugh if you're having a bad day.

My favorite sport is baseball, so MLB tonight is my bread and butter. They always bring in game coverage and their recaps of shows are pretty good. The guys doing it aren't bad either. College Football Final is also another show I like to watch, because Mark May and Lou Holtz always seem to have a few spats with each other and its a nice recap for the games that I didn't get to see earlier in the day. PTI and ATH aren't bad, either.

I'm not going to count Sportscenter because that's too easy of an answer. The Best Damn Sports Show Period was right up there but now it's off the air. I love both PTI and Around the Horn but PTI is much better on a consistent basis so I'll go with them.

Wilbon and Kornheiser have the right combination of knowledge and entertainment value. They are constantly getting great guests, the games they play are all entertaining, and having Tony Reali there is another positive.

Yeah, like many have said I'm a huge fan of PTI and Kornheiser respectfully. The back and forth is pretty damn great and when they have someone fill in for either Kornhesier or Wilbon the show doesn't really fall off. Around The Horn doesn't seem to have that problem either. If it's somebody inferior to Kornhesier and Wilbon (I'm not talking about Bob Ryan or Bill Simmons) they just insult them at points in the show so you know who runs the damn thing.

I also like Mike&Mike in the Morning. I think they work well off each other, especially when Greeny goes off on something that is entirely wrong about but he keeps yelling about it for no reason while Golic keeps trying to tell him whats up. The only problem the show has is when someone fills in for one of them. The show doesn't have the same appeal. That is why I put PTI and even Around The Horn ahead of it.

I'm going to go with a national show and a local show. For the national show, I'm going with NFL Network's Total Access. I've always thought that ESPN is extremely biased and only caters to the big markets. The New York'ss get more coverage than the Kansas City's, if you know what I mean. NFL Network seems to give everyone an equal playing field. They talk about everyone objectively. Rich Eisen is a terrific host and is hilarious and Marshall Faulk gives great insight. Also, it doesn't hurt that everyone on the NFLN loves Maurice Jones-Drew.

For the local show, I'm going with The End Zone. It airs Mondays during the football season and is a 30 minute show to discuss Jaguars football. It is hosted by Sam Kouvaris, a local sports anchor and radion host, and his show is entertaining. They always have an important player from the previous game to talk about the game. It is just an all-around good show.

for me it has to be sportsnation...its a really funny and informative show and is by far my favorite..and in second place would probably be either sportscenter or any show on the mlb network
