Favorite NXT concept

Pre-Show Stalwart
NXT has shown soo much potential in its first airing.. There are many innovative, and interesting things introduced in the first episode, so here is my question.

What is your Favorite new additon(s) or segments that NXT has introduced?

I really enjoy the Rookie Bio's. I think if they introduced a Vance Archer, Yoshi Tatsu, hell even Sheamus like that it really would have made people CARE about there character. That little bio makes such a big difference. Look at half the star's who debut. A lot of time the reason there gimmick dosen't get over, and they have such a hard time getting over is they don't have that bio like entry. I just couldn't belive how much a few minute bio of the rookie's life effects how well they are recieved. I really feel like I can get behind some of these guys and I actually know what they are about. It flesh's out there character and really gives you something to root for, and find your "favorite" rookie.

The Second thing I REALLY enjoyed were the different camera angles, they just made it seem so interactive, and like I was there watching the match. It made you feel closer to the action, and really got me involved in the matchs.

So what were your favorite concepts NXT introduced?

I found the whole show boring and kinda stupid. The weird camera angles in the ring just ruined it for me, the bios were nice but they started saying the same things like I've wanted to be in WWE since I was a kids blah blah blah WWE ass kissing much.

The point of NXT is get your favorite rookies onto either Raw and smackdown and after watching last nights terrible episode, I can't wait until my favs get on the top brands

I'm going to watch next week because they still havn't shown all the rookies but once my favs leave NXT, i won't be watching anymore

To be honest, being the long time wrestling lover that I have been for over two and a half decades, I have to say that NXT doesn't really have shit that I can like. I mean seriously, it should just be called WWE N-E-XT cuz it's the next shitty thing that they have put on the airwaves.

First and foremost, the buildup was more like watching the previews for a season of The Real World than creating anticipation for something that is supposed to be a good new concept. It seemed like half of the players were out of place and out of their element, and this included to VETERAN of the lot, Brian Danielson. Oops, I meant to say Daniel Brian. There was no continuity or purpose. I know it's early, but you only get one chance to make a great first impression. And I wasn't impressed.

Secondly, much of the wrestling lacked a polished look. I know these guys are supposed to have a green look to them, but I would expect there to be a little more polish on the product as these guys have been working together in FCW for quite some time. A prime example was the David "Punk" Otunga vs. Whoever the Hell His Name was, Soon the Be Future Jobber in WWE. Yeah, perhaps I should give the man a lil more respect, but do you really think that he will be a serious wrestler? Hell, I can see SD Jones having more career victories than this guy. I mean if you're gonna create a character with the sole purpose of making fun of Orlando Jones, then at least put some effort into it.

Lastly, the initial storylines are too transparent to be good. The player who doesn't like his coach. The player who's ideals conflict with his coach. The arrogant non-team player. The over-excited team player. The abused player. Oh yeah. These are all original. I mean without having to say spoiler alert or anything, we can ALL see where this will lead. Brian will break away from Miz, Otunga will ignore his coach and be all about himself, Barret will be the lackey of Jericho until he builds up a face turn, Darrin Young will get ignored by Punk and be a failure, and Slater will kiss up to Christian. If I'm wrong, then I will say so later. But seeing as how these storylines are so weak and lame to begin with, that I doubt that I will owe one later.

Will NXT get better? Who knows. Will it be better than ECW? Well, with the way WWE was doing it, prolly. Will it be around for the long run? My answer is no. Plain and simple. No.

Honestly..I still don't get it.

I mean, are these guys just following the pro's around for the next year or so, or are the pro's following them around? And why? See I thought this was going to be something like Ultimate Fighter, only in WWE terms. Granted they would have to set SOME kayfabe aside for this. But I figured the pro's would be at war with each other using their rookies as pawns to the game..ala Rampage Jackson/Tito Ortiz.

I assumed there would eventually be some tournament to eliminate all but one, or put it to a vote American Idol style.

So far...it's still sort of ECW in my eyes.
