ESPN story on Scott Hall a Broken Man

I really hope he gets clean one day, I fucking love Scott Hall and to see him like that saddens me. I was a huge fan of Razor Ramon as a kid, he was my sister's favorite wrestler at that time. Out of all the former big time wrestlers who are having drug problems and all that, he's the one I want to pull out of it the most and he seems to be the worst of all of them at times.

That video and seeing him like that was hard for me to watch.

That was painful to see, Hall was SO messed up at that show, it is really sad.

He sounds like he is going to cry when he talks about not being afraid to die.

I would love to see Hall get healthy and clean, I really would. I hope he can

You can tell when he talks he's on the verge of tears. If I recall correctly Nash has also said that Hall has stuff in his past that's really tough to deal with, stuff that doesn't have anything to do with wrestling.

I feel for the guy. I wonder if it's wrong that I sympathise with Hall yet ostracise the Hardys? Is that a double standard?

I wish no ill upon anyone, but this guy has had numerous opportunities to right himself. I don't know his personal demons, but the WWE has paid for his rehab at least once, there are many support groups and psychologists/psychiatrists out there who would help him, he just has to want to be helped.

I get the feeling Hall just isn't too interested in being helped anymore.

I've followed Scott Hall for a while now, since he is probably my all time favorite wrestler and been watching him since I was just a kid.
I heard that he actually went to recuperate at Sid Eudy's place and that's the only time he actually got better.

Boy, that's a hard segment to watch, I always really liked Scott Hall, especially back in his Razor Ramon and very early nWo days. It's absolutely tragic to see what has happened to him and is continuing to happen to him.

The thing that I found both sad but compelling is his comment about, what else is there to do when they stop chanting your name? For the first time, it struck me that this is likely about more than a simple substance abuse problem. This seems like more of a deep seated depression, which he is dealing with via his substance abuse. It didn't strike me so much as that he wanted to stop doing drugs or drinking but was unable to. It sounded more like he was a terribly depressed man, from both the end of his career as well as other alleged non-wrestling issues in is life, and that he doesn't want to stop. These are his coping mechanism, which he will continue to do until the end, which unfortunately won't be too long down the road if things continue as they are. Ironic in a way, as he talks about what do you do when they stop chanting your name, meanwhile the crowd is chanting his name as he stumbles out from behind the curtain. If he could somehow clean himself up, I'm sure he would receive tremendous support from his fans and his friends to assist him along the way. However, it appears he has no interest in doing so.

It all comes down to personal acceptance and wanting to get clean and if Hall doesn't want to get clean he won't.

I hate seeing Scott in that position but it looks to me like he thinks he's a lost cause and wants to give up, its horrible, its sad but its the way it is.

Scott doesn't seem to want to get better and I don't think he has an issue drinking himself to death. He says he wants to but can't, well if you want to bad enough you will get clean and do whatever it takes to get clean.

This is on next on ESPN currently.. I don't know why I am going to watch this, they just showed a new preview a moment a go and it looks sadder and sadder :(

Holy shit!

His parents and grandparents were all alcholics and he shot and killed a dude! O.O

*mind blown right now*

I can't see this living in the UK, is there a link to it somewhere? I've seen the preview and it looks hard to watch. Scott really is in a bad way

You can find it on youtube. Too lazy to find the link for you right now. Watched it tonight on the way home from work. Great little piece in that besides Dana it doesn't get into the whole "Wrestling kills people" thing and focuses on Hall's problems and his lifestyle choices that came to bite him in the ass, and just how sad it is that he went from the top of the world to the bottom of the barrel. I highly recommend it, but be ready to be a little mopey afterwards.

Hate me if you want, but I don't feel any sympathy for Hall. He's had multiple chances to clean up his life, WWE spent more on his rehab than anyone else and he's still screwing himself over.

I'd rather sympathize for those who never made it than those who had the opportunity of a lifetime and wasted it.
