Earlyer this week in a interview TNA partner Eric Bischoff made a statement towards the "Guest Host" concept over on WWE's Monday night RAW when Bischoff said that it was "lame". But why would Eric Bischoff of all people say something like this? Wasn't his idea's (and some others) in WCW to put the WCW world title on actors, having two NBA players in a tag team wrestling match, and even Jay Leno in a wrestling match?
Even though the WWE introduced celebs into the sports entertainment industry going back to the very fist wrestlemania at MSG in NYC. It was Eric Bischoff and the rest in WCW who made a big bang in the late 90's during the original Monday night wars when WCW brought in "The Hollywood Factor" by having actors, atletles, rappers, and even a late-night talk show host to bring in ratings to the company, which helped WCW become the number one company at the time. Much like WWE is doing on RAW with the same type of concept on a weekly basis. So why is Bischoff throwing saly towards the WWE with that comment?
Competition is great. But when someone in the heat of battle does or saids something hipacrtical or contredicial like what Eric Bischoff said this week, it's strickly out of jealousy, envy, and negitivity. Bischoff is just pissed that the WWE got over in the mainstream media with the concept while TNA is no more then a indy league on a major television network (if you were to call "Spike TV" a MAJOR television network?). Yeah Hulk Hogan brings in ratings, but other than just him. Hogan's the only thing that comes to being a celebertiy. Kinda like Suge Knight being the biggest star on his record label with a bunch of has beens and never will be's.
TNA knows that the WWE has the edge in the new Monday night wars! And with the guest host concept still being around AFTER Wrestlemania. It'd been struggle and a splitting headache for Eric Bischoff and TNA until TNA folds up, and/or Vince McMahon buys the company that was TNA. Whatever comes first??
