Episode of Nitro (04/21/97) on WWE Classics

Held in Saginaw, MI. Fifteen years ago, ladies and gentlemen. I was there.

Just watched it. Amazing how much better it was live, not to mention I was in junior high school.

Finished about 30 minutes ago. It was pretty fucking awful.

Well, there wasn't really a main event. Flair, Piper and Kevin Greene (NFL player) came out and ran down the nWo, not long after the nWo did the same to them. A bit of a brawl ensued, but of course, as usual with WCW, after the first four or five punches they had to cut away.

Reggie White was also in attendance.

Ah yes, the Kevin Greene fiasco. There were certainly worse celebrities involved in WCW, but they all sucked the life out of the show.

I have to give them credit - they got some decent athletes to play along. Reggie White, Kevin Greene, Karl Malone, Dennis Rodman. I'm sure I'm missing someone, but those were legitimate American sports figures.

Still stunk, but Greene wasn't even close to being the worst part.

Envy.

Were you on the IWC then? 97 means Sting was the hottest thing around. Sweet.

You'd have a hard time finding a bigger WCW mark than myself. I said this episode stunk, because it did. Largely, I enjoyed WCW, all the way through 1998. Once they hit 1999, things started falling apart, but I loved the nWo... most of the time.

So stick it, brother.

Ah so no Sting love from you.

Still what a great time to be a fan and see the events live. I watched those rabid over packed crowds at Raw during the AE and see these absolutely downright wicked signs, hotties and youngsters going crazy with a beer in hand, man wish I was there.

Smashing time.

David Arquette; oh wait, he was an actor, even worse.
