also, the age of consent is 16 most states, and other states in america it's 15 and even 14, so at worst it's just creepy.

In a state like Connecticut this wouldn't be legal as you need to be within 3 years of each other. Also I believe this may have taken place in New York where the age is 17 not 16. You also need to look at age exceptions, not always as clear as a simple number.

He may very well have committed a crime and looking at some punishment if true.

I just watched the documentary about Kevin Clash, the voice of Elmo, today, and it was fascinating stuff. I'm glad that this turned out to be rubbish, he seems like a nice guy with a very fascinating story.
