Edge's Announcement ***DONT POST SPOILERS***

World Heavyweight Champion Edge will have a major announcement to make this Friday night on SmackDown. What does the Ultimate Opportunist have to say for himself? Does it pertain to his title defense against Kane at this Sunday’s The Great American Bash? After seeing how the Big Red Machine demolished the Rated-R Superstar – and his Mardi Gras edition of The Cutting Edge – last week, anything Edge has to say on SmackDown this Friday night will certainly not benefit his Great American Bash challenger.

It's probably going to be nothing intresting. The last ''big'' announcement that I got excited about was the signing of MVP. I doubt it's anything as intresting as him giving up the title due to injury, but who knows.

If this is going to be any announcement regurading the WHC match at the GAB then all i see this as is a way to maybe add some stipulation for match or turn the match to some gimmick match at the last minute. It be nothing important and I only care if Edge was bringing back the Rated R belt and that i still dont care for.

that would be the worst thing ever, besides, we would have breaking news by now. I just hope it's something about a stipulation, giving chance to Rey to return at the GAB. Yes, i bet it is something about Rey's return.

I think it is either going to be Edge saying he is minorly injured and can't compete at the GAB, even though Teddy will just make him do the match(or Edge will be stripped of the title) and add a stipulation anyways for Kane's amusement, or Edge modifies the World title into another Rated R Belt that doesn't look like Cena's this time. If it ends up resulting in a stipulation, than I would say it is going to be a No Holds Barred match. If it ends up Edge is going to change the belt than I wouldn't really care because Cena already has the WWE title looking like a joke so why not the World title?

it can't be anything too major, or else we would've heard about it by now. like you guys said, it'll probably be some dumb stipulation or edge trying to weasel out of the match against Kane at GAB

The Ultimate Opportunist has suffered the ultimate heartbreak. Moments ago, during a taping of SmackDown in the Laredo Entertainment Center, SmackDown General Manager Theodore Long ordered Edge to relinquish his World Heavyweight Championship. The order came from Long when it was revealed that the Rated-R Superstar suffered a pectoral injury at the hands of Kane during last week’s SmackDown, thereby rendering him unable to defend his title at The Great American Bash this Sunday.

Furthermore, in another shocking development, Long has proclaimed that a Battle Royal will take place later this evening, with the winner being awarded the World Heavyweight Title. Log on to WWE.com later this evening for more breaking news…and the announcement of a new World Heavyweight Champion.
