Edge vs. Jericho WHC match @ WM26?

When Edge won the 2010 Royal Rumble last night it got me on the official "Road to WrestleMania" track by thinking who is he going to challenge for the title at the big show? He's not going to Raw, so forget the WWE Title. That leaves him to challenge The Undertaker for the WHC at WM... only problem is that Taker won't be champion by that time. With a seemingly sure Taker/HBK rematch looming, I would think that match would not involve a title in any way (although I would love to see Michaels get one more legit run).
With the 'proper' build-up (takes cheap jab at WWE creative writing) this could happen. Edge didn't look the best when he came back, which could have a lot to do with his coming off a serious injury but give him the next few weeks to somehow inter-weave himself into a program involving a Undertaker/Jericho showdown at EC with Jericho taking the strap into Wrestlemania as the champ... concluding with an ultimate showdown between Edge and Jericho for the WHC at the Granddaddy of them all.

Edge would win of course.

What do you guys think?.. does it suck?.. would it be a good idea?

Jericho w/Mr.McMahon vs Edge w/Bret Hart for the World Championship

It would be perfect. Edge is a fellow canadian who we have seen use the sharpshooter. And this would tie in Bret and Vince without giving Bret too much physical exhaustion. This would be a defining moment in Edge's career. I'm very sure this is the way its gonna happen. Shawn will cost Taker the belt very soon. And McMahon will have to endorse Jericho. They've very had any problems before so they'll fit well. I hope the belt is somehow vacant though leading into the match. It'll give the match more unpredictability.

Jericho v Edge @ WM26, with Jericho winning to keep this fued going on for a couple of months. If Edge just beats Jericho @ WM26, this would likely end the feud and make Jericho look weak. Jericho should retain hands down. Edge will need to have a slow face build even though he is a strong tweener character.

Also, Bret v Vince in a Street Fight.

Only problem, Jericho is also Canadian and trained at the Hart Dungeon. Your logic wouldn't really work, because Bret has ties to Jericho and none aside from being Canadian to Edge.

I know this match is going to happen, now I'm just curious as to see how it comes about. Gotta love the road to wrestlemania!

Though I do see Edge v Jericho at WM26, I'm not sure it will be a WHC match.

WWE seems really intent on somehow having Taker V HBK. Taker has alreay said no to a rematch. Shawn has to get Taker into a position where he MUST accept a challenge. Having lost the Rumble, Shawn has one option left. Money in the Bank. This of course assumes Taker is still WHC at Mania.

As for Edge and Jericho, I see it as a grudge match. Or perhaps Jericho reconsiles with Show, and regains the Tag Titles. Then we get a tag match of JeriShow verses a team we've been waiting a long time for....Edge and Christian.

to be honest i dont think that edge should have won the title i think Y2J vs edge would have been a fine match without and title and i would left shawn to have a career vs title match with taker at WM witch i believe would atleast make the rematch mean something because i just see the rematch being as good if it just for the streak this time .. but anyways they went with edge winning it witch sorta tells u that at EC Y2J will win a world titel who knows with the wwe they might find a way he sneeks into the raw EC and wins that who knows we seen it befor havent we ... but i just dont see how it would be better to not have the world title on taker seeing the rematch need to atleast add something .... im saying this will be the matches for WM

vince/bret hart (street fight if bret is good or they might have partners to do the wrestling who knows right now its up to brets health)

straight edge society / hart dynasty
and either the miz and mcantiyer will be in mitb or one will have a title match and other in MITB

there's an elimination chamber match at the next PPV for the title. at least i'm assuming so, it's called Elimination Chamber. it makes perfect sense for Jericho to be in that match, he'll probably win the title (with somehow HBK costing Undertaker the title). This will then allow Edge v. Jericho (C) to take place at Wrestlemania.

With the way some of jerichos matches have gone lately, there is no smart reason to let Jericho win any title especially the Undertakers. if Shawn costing taker the title is the only way they can work that match to happen its not worth it. I don't think Shawn deserves another bite at taker. They will NEVER top last years match.

I'm, sorry but the last thing wwe needs to is give Jericho any kind of push. He's failed time & time again over the years storyline or not. Fired from Raw, Banned off raw more than once, And remember him being a "savior" how long did that last ? four weeks that's how long 4 weeks.

and recently trying to get back on raw only to loose to R-Truth (no offence to him) I am Canadian but Jericho is just one failed Gimmick after another & another, dating back to Lion Hart. And for for what ?

Here is how I see it happening...

Edge challenges for Taker's belt so they have Taker in the Elimination Chamber match as Edge is the #1 contender already. HBK costs Taker his match in the Elimination Chamber somehow. This causes him to accept the match against HBK as he is livid at him. Jericho wins the belt because of it. This sets up Edge vs. Jericho at WM.

HHH wins the Raw EC to become #1 contender and he goes against Sheamus at WM.

Cena eliminated Batista at the Rumble so this sets up a Cena vs. Batista match at WM.

Bret vs. Vince is a given.

Triple Threat match with all members of Legacy.

Yep, i believe this match will happen.

I can definitely see HBK somehow interfering in the elimination chamber and costing Undertaker the title. His obsession with Taker is just getting to strong at this point to not interfere.

My other theory could be that Edge actually helps Jericho win the title, so that he can specifically have this rematch, he is the ultimate opportunist, so some type of misleading swerve could take place here. Maybe someone breaking into the chamber and dragging Jericho over the remaining persons body and then reveal its Edge.

Whatever way a definitely see this match taken place, alongside HBK Vs Taker.

Your wrong my friend, Bret "trained" Edge in late 1996-97 along with Test in the ring he had in his home, Basically a lot of the attitude era guys would be sent to wrestling schools like the funks for a few weeks months camp and show what they got, if they showed promise wwe hired them, Bret did the same thing, he had a bunch of guys invited to his house and Edge was one of them.

Moving on, I thought the posters idea was a little OTT, however this got me thinking, when Bret hosted RAW him and Jericho had a ruckus so it may play out perfectly for Jericho to suck up to Vince face Taker at Chamber and have Vince cost Taker the match and mandate him to face Shawn and Edge can then cash him in his rumble win against Jericho, and leave HHH to face Sheamus.

First of all Edge and Christain both have spent time in the dungeon so there is a connection. Plus dont you remember Bret telling Jericho "One thing I remeber bout when you were in the dungeon is how much and loud you cried, even more then the Smith kids." Which tells me no respect between them. But Bret and Vince should be its own match. As far as Edge and Jericho it will be for the WHC as far as I believe. Edge and Jericho has been built up since Edge left so what better place to have the fight. As far as having Edge lose no I think have him win and Jericho go on one of his rants about corruption and unfairness. Have Long tell him to find a partner to have a match against Edge and whoever and have it be CM Punk which will start the Union of those two which I see coming and then they will both say it is their job to save us all from drugs and alcohol and make us Straight Edge. Which will lead to a nice long fued.

Here is how i think it will build.....

1. Smackdown! this week: Edge challenges for the WHC. Batista also says Cena throwing him out at RR was a fluke and he can't beat him in a real match.(sets up batista vs. cena)
2. At EC: Its down to the final 3-Batista, Y2J, and 'Taker. Batista gets eliminated and on his way out...BOOM! sweet chin music on batista. Then Undertaker. and Finally Y2J. But Y2J falls right on taker for the win. As Y2J celebrates Edge comes running out and spears him.
3. Smackdown after EC: Edge calls out Jericho and challenges him to a match at WM26.
Jericho denies but Vickie says if Edge beats Taker next week he'll get his match.
4. Next Week: Edge beats Taker but only after accidental interference by Jericho.(Jericho goes for a codebreaker on Edge. but edge ducks and he hits it on taker. edge hits a spear on jericho then pins taker for the win.)
5. WWE just builds it up til Mania

I'm telling you guys, they are nuts if they rematch taker and shawn...the bar is too high. They are both a year older and both are hurting. it makes zero sense to go down that road again, there is no way to go but down...and having Jericho anywhere near a title is laughable.

They cant stop Edge they can only add to it. But ppl are saying bout keeping Taker as champion but we seen that match twice and was not that good either time.

I was certain that they weren't going to do this on WrestleMania, but it seems likely that they'll face off at some point. Either Edge will win a title and Jericho will be his first opponent or they will drop it. If they do do it at Mania, it seems like quite a low quality match, but I think it'd be good. We have two good talkers in them, and I think that it could be a really compelling quality feud, but I just don't think it has the capacity to attract the big numbers elsewhere. We shall wait and see, but as much as I want to see it, I am really struggling to believe this will come to fruition.
