Edge/Jericho at Wrestlemania 26?

Most people seem to be expecting The Undertaker against Jericho at Wrestlemania, now that this has emerged with Edge's injury. The heat between the former tag partners, the amount of time Edge is expected to be out, WWE tend to make it seem longer than it really is, could edge come back and have a match with Jericho at Wrestlemania 26..?

Would anyone want to see that, I have to say I would!

I would like too. This would be a better match then everyone thinks. Edge and Jeircho are two of the best in the company today and They can both "tell a story" in the ring. Both men are huge stars and can draw tremendous heel/face reactions. I would love to see it because it could easily turn out to be match of the night if their storyline goes well.

Edge is supposed to come back at in March next year, and let's say WM26 is the next month. Do you think they could get a rivalry built up by then? I'd like to see it too, but Undertaker/Jericho at WM26 seems more probable at this time.

I don't know.

I know that not many people know also. The problem being that everyone seems to want Jericho vs. The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 26. I think seeing two of the better performers of this generation going at it at Wrestlemania 26 would be an epic match. Although, I can definitely see this match happening, I don't think it should. I would much rather see Triple H vs. The Undertaker next year. The first match at X-Seven was epic to say the least. If that match was to happen, which it probably will not, then it would leave Jericho open to a possible feud with Edge.

I personally would like to see Edge come back at Wrestlemania and have a match with Orton. Think how many people would legitimately mark out for that match. It would be stunning. Then of course, Jericho would have no one to feud with. So what about this. Jericho wins the Royal Ruble next year and chooses to after Orton, this sets up Orton vs Jericho at Wrestlemania. Edge returns at No Way Out and puts himself in the title picture at Wrestlemania. A triple threat with these guys would be amazing. Although, with both Jericho and Edge on Smackdown. I don't see it happening.

If Edge is coming back back in March I suspect that they will do the Undertaker/Jericho match and then start the rivalry between Edge and Jericho afterwards.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see this match at Wrestlemania , but I don't want this match and rivalry to be rushed, which if Edge is really expected to get back in March they will have to do.

If Edge can be cleared to wrestle by March 28th then they could build the match without having Edge getting too physical. These two are good enough to build a match mostly through mic work.

If we have seen anything in the last year with the WWE writers is they don't need a slow build up to force a match (ok they do need to a build up, they just choose not to do one). It would be just like the WWE writers to force a match down people's throats with no build up.

Jericho vs. Taker at Mania would be great, but what WWE needs to worry about with the Taker/Mania thing is that the opponent makes the outcome predictable. Not every opponent can put the kind of match HBK put on this year with Taker. Jericho might be able to, but the smart wrestling fan knows, in the end, Taker will win because he doesn't lose at Mania.

A younger opponent (ie: Swagger, Morrison, Ted Dibiasi) can benefit more from a Mania match with Taker and it adds the extra component, Is this the guy Taker is going to pass the tourch too? Plus even if they lose, If they rise to the occasion and put on a killer match at Mania, that might help get them over almost as much as a victory.

I seriously hope not I like Edge and Chris Jericho but t hey fought in the past back in 2004 for the IC Title Batista vs Edge vs Chris Jericho I don't wanna see that again they fought a few times after that

You know, I dont know what I want anymore... This Edge & Jericho tag team was going to cultimate into That Special Non-Title Match at WM26. Now since Edge is gone for a long time... I wish the WWE didnt have Jericho tell Edge is his a liability. They could have keep Edge away from WM26 to recover his injury & return where he left of with Jericho as a tag team to lead into implosion at SummerSlam & still have that huge fued aura around it.

However, although I would rather see the Undertaker/Jericho Match at WM26... I think that we will still see an Edge/Jericho fued. I mean, the fued going into WM25 between Taker & HBK didnt not require that much physical activity for the two & look what happened.

The question really is timmy872, will Edge be ready for WM26 when he takes on Jericho?

When Jericho got drafted to SD, this was the match I wanted to see so bad. But when Edge and Jericho had a match as main event on SD a little while back, I was pissed. After that I thought there would be no way this match could happen at mania 26, but the unified tag titles and Edge's injury seemed to have changed all that. I hope this match does happen at WM 26 because I want to see a well thought out build up and feud to this match.

'Taker goes for the choke-slam, but Jericho counters into a code breaker! 1-2-WTF! The lights go off than when they return the ref is knocked out, and Jericho is be-wildered! But OMG it's EDGE! Jericho turns around and SPEAR! Edge runs of to the crowd and 'Taker pins Jericho.

Eh well, just pointing that out. That way we get Jericho vs. 'Taker, and the Edge face turn started along with an Edge vs. Jericho feud!

That wouldn't be a bad idea, but no way in hell does the WWE give Taker help at Mania.

Anyway I wouldn't mind seeing a Taker/Jericho match at Mania, but it will not happen. This may end up being Taker's last Mania, and Jericho will not be his last opponent. I think Taker will win the title at WM 26 and I'm thinking it will be Punk who he gets it from.

It does look likely for a Jericho Edge match at Mania.

Anything can happen between now and then as we know in WWE. However, Mania 26 will be a great time to have Edge vs Jericho because Edge should be back and competing full-time by then. Some have said that Edge could be back as early as Royal Rumble but that would mean that he fully recovered from his injury in about 6-7 months when in reality, regardless of the athlete, it takes about 8-9. You know when Edge comes back he'll be gunning for Jericho who has really trashed him as of late.

there is plenty of time for a feud to be set in time for Wrestlemania between Edge and Jericho.
Reason 1: they said a return in March. They tend to overshoot the estimations. This means he should have at least 3 weeks, probably over a month, to set the feud.
Reason 2: Edge has a torn achillies tendon, not vocal cord. Edge is one of the best on the mic. If they can rehab him to the point that he can run in and attack somebody by the Royal Rumble, then he can do just that to Jericho. They can argue back and forth for a few months. And then save Edge's in-ring return until Wrestlemania. That's a best case scenario. If they get him to the point by No Way Out that should be fine.

I would love to see Edge vs. Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania 26, but I'm not exactly sure if I would prefer to see that more than Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker. I actually would have loved to see that match at this year's Wrestlemania more than next year's, but what can I do? But I think the question is: Will Jericho continue this fued with Edge throughout the whole time that Edge is out with injury? Will he continue to bad-mouth Edge about how he's frail, weak, and injury-prone? If this happens, then it won't matter if Edge returns only a month before Wrestlemania. There would me more than enough time to build a Wrestlemania match between the two.

But, if you ask me... I don't feel that having little to no build will really affect their performance at ''the biggest stage of em all''. We've seen that they have pretty good chemistry from their past matches and they made a pretty solid team for the few weeks that they were tag team partners.

If a match between the two Canadians were to happen, the WWE would have to decide whether The Undertaker vs. Chris Jericho match would be better suited for a series of ppvs or just at Wrestlemania? Because I think Edge vs. Chris Jericho is more of a Summerslam type match compared to him vs. The Undertaker, but that's only because it's Undertaker who is 17-0 and has yet to defeat Chris Jericho.

So, I would say yes! I would want to see Edge vs. Chris Jericho at Wrestlemania as long as Edge is healthy. I would also love to see Chris Jericho vs. The Undertaker at Wrestlemania. But if WWE doesn't have a proper fued for Undertaker in his return and Jericho is no longer needed in the tag team division, then WWE would have to rush a fued with the two, in my opinion. Which would leave us with a better chance of seeing Edge vs. Chris Jericho.

i think itll be undertaker-cena at next yrs wrestlemania obviously because thats a bigger draw & thatll put fans at the edge of their seats like taker & hbk did this yr, and plus everyone will know jericho of all people wont end the streak but cena could be the one (if that does happen i think everyone in the stadium will riot)

& since taker is coming back soon, i think in a few weeks, he and jericho can start a feud right away & have a match in at summerslam and then continue the feud until survivor series or maybe even armageddon

I think if they can ensure Edge is gonna be fit in time for WM26 they should do it. They can build the match up through mic work. Maybe have Jericho capture the title towards the back end of the year. Then they could do Edge as guest host of Raw, and push him as a babyface then have Jericho "re-injure" him. Up until then, they could do an Jericho-Christian fued for the title, after he stands up for his brother.

As for The Undertaker I think he should face Cena next year as being an honory McMahon, represents more of a threat to the streak than Y2J.

No offense buddy but having Taker lose to JERICHO would make Taker look pathetic.I mean lets think about who he has beaten. Kane, Diesel, Kane, HHH, HBK, Mark Henry, Randy Orton. Not saying Jericho isnt credible as a main eventer but hmmm. HHH beat Jericho, HBK beat Jericho, Mark Henry beat Jericho, Kane beat Jericho. Why have taker lose to a man that has lost to basically everyone that is still on the active roster that Taker has previously defeated at Mania?

Jericho is a very good talent but it wouldn't do much for his resume to beat the Taker. Yes he would be the first to do it but hes been the first undisputed champ, hes been a record IC title holder. Why ruin the dead mans winning streak on someone that already has cemented their legacy?
If Jericho won people would start to question how Taker won for so many years against people that destroyed Jericho.

Edge/Jericho could honestly work even without ANY physicality between the 2. I mean think about it. You could have Jericho make it personal and start attacking Christian (Edge's brother).... While Edge is not "Medically cleared" to wrestle. All the while you can see Edge getting fired up in his promos. Promising that there will be HUGE payback at Mania for Jericho..

Let's reference back to the Return of the Undertaker at Mania 20. Was there ANY physicality between the dead man and Kane prior to Mania? NOPE... Just well done promos and tauntings.

Now you take 2 of the best promo cutters in WWE and you put them together and POOF...MAGIC can happen

jericho and edge continue their feud using solely mic work, because it could totally be done with both of them and it keeps Edge in the picture...

rumble rolls around and Edge is healthy enough to do a quick bit in the Rumble, pulls a Cena, and gets the win... have him come in around 23 and just chill till 30...

Jericho regains the title from Punk at Annialation or Rumble and the two square off in Phoenix...

Taker takes a young buck on at mania to keep the Streak alive and elevate them to the next level... how about Santino!!!! (kidding sadly...)

and quite possibly in the mean time... jericho gets a new partner... in Christian... Cap Charisma loses to Dreamer at NoC, and joins Jericho in a heel turn, saying he was always better than his brother Edge... gets him on all 3 brands, and gets the new kids on ECW a chance to get title oppertunities...

I like that idea.

But it is really a toss up for me. Edge/Jericho and Undertake/Jericho both sound like great matches. I am kinda leaning towards Egde/Jericho, I would want it to build up alot like Jericho/Michaels. A slow build up done mostly with promos. I was at Wrestlemania XIX and that was the one match I was just dying to see.

About the whole who gets to beat Undertaker at Wrestlemania it is hard. You really need a team player to do it. It can not be anyone to young. But not anyone to old also. What if Lashley or Lesner had beat Undertaker. It would mean shit now.

Well personally I want to see Edge v Jericho at Mania for the WHChampionship. I think Taker should retire undefeated at Mania so he should be kept out of the title picture - he doesnt need the strap to be one of the top guys in the company. I can see Jericho winning the belt around Rumble time from Punk or, if he actually re-signs, Jeff Hardy. Then a nice non physical feud can be built up between a returning Edge and Jericho. Honestly, I think it would be a better main event than Jericho v Taker, plus Y2J deserves to main event Mania again.

no matter how good this match might seem, and trust me it would be a really good match, unless they bring edge back early enough (1-2 months before wm) to turn him over into a face, i cant see WWE putting a match in where 2 top heels fight each other. they probably cant bring edge back that soon anyways because 8 months of recovery from the injury to wrestlemania would be cutting it really close for him being 100% to step back into the ring. but i think if hes ahead of schedule, they should do something where jericho issues an open challenge to anyone and edge comes out to cheers once his music hits. other than that i really cant see this match happening.

That would be a good idea, but it was said before there is no way WWE gives Undertaker that much help.

What about this, Ref gets knocked to the ground out cold, Jericho being the sneaky son of a bitch he is, trys to grab a chair, just as he is about to strike Undertaker, Edge comes out of no where up on the apron and grabs the chair, Jericho turns around and punches Edge off the apron, turns around right into Undertaker and bam Tombstone 1 2 3. Taker gets the win and turns Edge face and does make Undertaker look weak

I rather see Jericho vs Undertaker and he will be the man who will put Udertaker out and after you see Shawn Michaels congratulating him and hugging him saying you did what I trained you to do !!!

If was was Jericho/Taker, there is no way in hell they would let Jericho win. The only one who can/would beat Taker at Mania is Kane. I'd rather see Edge/Orton for the WWE Championship and Morrison/Hardy/Jericho for the WHC. If it's Undertaker's last Mania, he should wrestle Kane. If not, have him wrestle a younger guy. I don't see Taker/Jericho as much of a dream match as some of you guys.
