Eddie Guerrero's last feud?

#hamler

That's all folks.
Today would've been WWE Hall of Famer, Eddie Guerrero's 43rd birthday. While thinking about this, I started to wonder what truely could've been. What it would be like if Eddie was still around today? What would be different? Now a lot of wrestlers these days retire around their mid 40s. Guys like Ric Flair and Shawn Michaels had one last memorable feud before they hung up their boots (I know Flair hasn't went away for good but he has in WWE). Every time you hear or read an interveiw with a guy like Undertaker, Chris Jericho, Kane, Sting, Kurt Angle, there's always a question about retirement. Now this thread isn't about whether Eddie would've already retired or not but if he was ready to retire who would you want his last feud to be with? Can be anybody in TNA if you think he might've jumped ship or anyone in WWE. Current rosters only please.

So let's have it...

-Who would you like to have seen Eddie Guerrero feud with for the very last time before he retired?

-Where would this match take place and what kind of send off would he receive?

PLEASE EXPLAIN YOUR ANSWER!

If Eddie Guerrero was still alive today, his final feud before he retired would probably be Undertaker because he too is close to retirement. But hey, I could be wrong. It might have been Shawn Michaels or John Cena. It is hard to say, because he passed away several years ago. If Eddie didn't die, then maybe Benoit would be alive still. Who knows. But if Eddie were to get a send off, it would probably be a retirement match or a personal feud with someone. Hell, maybe even with Edge fighting over who was Vicky's true love...Okay, even saying that gave me a bad taste in my mouth.

he would probably face Del rio for the fact is the best new LATINO SUPERSTAR out right now but who knows I think eddie would have ended up in TNA his brother is there and only if L.A.X were still around. either that or he would have faced anyone from chavo to jericho to ray mysterio even ric flair if plans could have been different. I always enjoyed his fued with JBL and if Alberto del rio is the next JBL then hell they would have faced each other figgadel me?

Nice post.

I think a Chris Jericho/Eddie Guerrero feud would work at this point in their careers. If it could be booked in such a way that it's career vs. career to keep it interesting...usually if it's one guys career at stake at this age, on a big stage, you know they're going to go.

If Benoit has been alive then I'd have to go with that. I think if they brought Dean Malenko back for that feud, in a non-wrestling role, the three of them in the ring to close a 'Mania would be a good way for Eddie to go out.

I think Rey Mysterio or Benoit if he were alive. When someone is about to go out, the right person for them to go out to is someone they are close to or connected with in the past. Austin went out to The Rock who we all know the story of, Flair was HBK's idol, HBK was one of Taker's best feuds & along with HHH, they're the last ones of the Attitude Era (I dont count Christian & Edge, they werent a big part of the Attitude Era and when I say Attitude Era, I mean in the 90's).

I would love to see Eddie feud with CM Punk.

Their wrestling styles would mesh EXTREMELY well, meaning five-star matches, and between CM Punks straight-edge lifestyle and Eddie's former drug abuse, the storyline would have been gold.

As much as Jericho/Rey and others would be good, he and Punk never stepped in the ring together (at least not on any national platform)

Guerrero's last feud would most likely be with Rey...during the storyline they had the first time around when Eddie claimed to be Rey's sons real father was gold and Eddie had me crackin up every week when he wore the "I'm your Papi" shirt!

I would say Rey or Chavo because of their links. Either that or to get someone over. Maybe Del Rio, Jack Swagger or CM Punk. I'm guessing Guerrero would of stayed on Smackdown.

If it's was going to be his last feud it would of been against Rey Mysterio. It would of been awesome since how close they were. I would of loved to see it if Mysterio was actually a heel against a face Guerrero.

Wow, nice thread. It's really hard to answer this because Eddie was a great wrestler. He could've worked with anyone and still get a huge reaction even if he lost. He could've feuded with Rey Mysterio, Chris Jericho, Chris Benoit(possibly), Undertaker, Triple H, Shawn Michaels, Mr. Kennedy(Anderson), Randy Orton, Kurt Angle, Batista, CM Punk, Chavo Guerrero, John Cena, Big Show, Edge, Christian,William Regal, Goldust, Sheamus, John Morrison, The Miz, Daniel Bryan, Kane, Jack Swagger, Alberto del Rio, JBL, Wade Barrett, etc. He could've basically feuded with anyone and still have an entertaining farewell feud.

I would say that whenever he lost, he would have still gotten a massive ovation, especially if his final match was somewhere with a lot of Latinos who Eddie had made a huge impact on. His best farewell would be in Mexico or in his hometown of Texas.

Eddie would have also gotten more championships because he was THAT GREAT!!!!!

If Eddie Guererro were still alive, I strongly believe that the Benoit family tragedy would never have happened. Therefore, I believe that the best possible way to end Eddie's career would be to have Eddie vs. Benoit at a Wrestlemania. It would have been a beautiful way to end both careers, in my opinion.

Guerrero vs Michaels would have been an all time classic, and a nice way for him to go. But, after the Benoit tragedy, whose to say Guerrero would still be wrestling today.
