Eddie Guerrero: Your Memories

FunKay the Inevitable

People Like Me, We Don't Play
This November 13th Will Mark the 5th Anniversary of Eddie Guerrero's Passing Away. Now If The Avatar Change and New Signature Weren't Enough to Clue You In, I've Been Thinking a Lot About Eddie Lately. I Always Consider Eddie One of My Favourite Wrestler's (Probably My Second Favourite Following Jericho) and I Watched With Awe as Eddie Came Back from His Addiction and Ultimately Did This:

Eddie Guerrero Won. I was Stunned as I never Believed that Eddie Could Defeat Brock Lesnar. But he did. I was shocked but happy. The following night Eddie Threw a Huge Bash and Would Hold the Championship for 4 & a half months before losing it to John 'Bradshaw' Layfield.

Eddie's Death was, of course, the complete opposite of his glorious championship win. Eddie's death was one of the saddest in professional wrestling dying at the tragically young age of 38. Latino Heat had Passed Away but as the Sig Says, The Heat Lives On.

Personally I'll Always Remember Eddie for the Lying, the Cheating and the Stealing. His wrestling ability was up there with the best and he could cut a promo but it was the gimmick that I'll always remember. It focused on the man himself and was totally believable as well as a lot of fun.

Now for You, What Will You Remember Eddie Guerrero for? Post your answers in here and remember keep it non spam.

(Oh and This is In the Wrong Section, Please Feel Free to Move It).

He too is my favorite wrestler of all time. The dude was seriously the total package. His gimmicks made me laugh and made me love him even more. I'll mostly remember Eddie for his matches with Rey Mysterio and Dean Malenko. The guy was truly amazing in the ring. Submission, suplexes, Luchador, and the Frog Splash, Eddie really had a gift. I will also remember Eddie for being a true inspiration. Down on life at one point to winning the WWE Championship a PPV before Wrestlemania. A life time of drugs and illegal perscription turned into fame, and championships. Eddie was also one of my first wrestling deaths I had to cope with. I was a little too young to understand the Owen thing but Eddie's death really touched me like no other has.he was at the top of his game, and who knows how big he would've truly became. I've never seen my heros (WWE locker room) break down in tears like that. I'll remember Eddie Guerrero for being one of my most favorite WWE Superstars ever! :worship:Eddie Guerrero RIP

My 300th post!

I'll always remember him for the mullet which I thought was a cool look along with his attire. When he had the mullet, I thought he was one of the coolest wrestlers in the biz. Not a good memory & answer for this thread but I'm just being honest.

Obviously there couldn't possibly be one specific thing that I would remember Eddie for. He was a remarkable talent with more or less the complete package with exception of height. Eddie is most likely gonna be remembered by me as well as by many others as a guy that always delivered, always entertained all the way till his last day.

Eddie has a lot of great moments, and to choose one would be incredibly hard. However I guess the primary thing that I would remember him for would be numerous awesome segments, more specifically the segments with Chyna. He played a great very heated heel through his feud with Right To Censor and Playboy storyline with Chyna.

I know a lot of people think of Eddie Guerrero as one of the greatest wrestlers over the last 20 years, but that’s not what I remember Eddie for. He was a great wrestler but I’ll remember Eddie for his personality and charisma. He always looked like he was having fun in the ring. I remember when the Radicals first showed up in the WWF. Everyone was focused on Chris Benoit, but I knew Eddie was going to be the one to flourish in the WWF. Turns out they both did pretty well for themselves. Eddie was always coming up with something. The LWO, Latino Heat, and Lie, Cheat, & Steal were all great gimmicks. He did great as a heel but could never stay heel for long. The fans loved him too much and wanted to cheer for him. Whenever Eddie came out the crowd came to life.

One funny thing my friends and I came up with was Eddie was the Mexican Hulk Hogan when he was champion when it came to interviews. Not that Eddie had bizarre stories like Hogan, just some Eddie to Hogan translations. Odelay = Well ya know something. Essay = Brother. Homes = Dude. It may sound lame, but we thought it was pretty funny.

I'll always remember Eddie Guerrero for not being used properly in WCW. The guy was always lighting up crowds whether it was his actions in the ring, or what he was saying when he was on the stick. He was one of the few wrestlers in WCW to actually make the fans give a fuck about him, whether it was loving or hating him. I will also always remember Eddie Guerrero for the moment he told Eric Bischoff to go fuck himself, and then pouring coffee on himself.

5 years already?!!! Jeeesus that time has flown by hasnt it?!

As for my memories of Eddie?

Firstly, when I think of Eduardo Guerrero, I picture him walking down to the ring, doing his strut, with a big smile on his face, and it makes me smile. Eddie always entertained the hell of of me put me in a good mood because I could tell he loved what he was doing. You could see how much he loved to entertain and when you can see a performer loves doing what they do, it makes you support them all the more.

I loved Eddie as his original Latino Heat character, but my favourite was his "Lie Cheat & Steal" persona. It was hilarious to see him throw someone a chair with the ref's back turned then jump on the floor and pretend that he was blasted with the chair, just in time for the referee to turn round and see the opponent holding the chair, therefore giving Eddie the win by DQ.

He was the only guy you loved to see cheat, and he always put a smile on my face. That is how I remember the great Eddie Guerrero

RIP

Can't believe I never saw this thread!

God, what is the thing that I remember most about Eddie...Well, really just about everything.

Eddie was one of those wrestlers that would only come once in a lifetime. There was just something about his charisma and personality that would make it hard for anyone to hate the guy. Always joking around, wanting to make people laugh, easy-going, out-going, you name it, Eddie was the definition of a kind-hearted guy. I remember watching the "Viva La Raza" DVD and people saying that he was the kind of guy that if you had problems, he would be open to come talk to. He would give you all the advice you needed, but wouldn't preach it to you if you didn't want to hear it. What a great guy.

In the ring, he was just phenomenal. Always doing all kinds of *flashy* moves (the lucha libre style of wrestling)---it was simply amazing. I find it hard to believe that anyone could find his matches boring.

I feel as if though Eddie had one thing that your average wrestler doesn't really have when they compete in the ring. And that was, the [psychological] connection between himself and the fans. He knew exactly how to entertain them. If the fans seemed bored, he would start off slow in the ring and eventually progress to more faster and flashier moves. Thus, picking up reaction from the crowd. The crowd reaction---exactly what Eddie fed off of. If Eddie found the crowd to be unentertained, he would always pull off an upset to make them be entertained.

His passion for wrestling was imense. Always striving to entertain the fans at any cost, always delivering. I find it hard to believe how anyone could ever hate Eddie.

A momment that I'll never forget about Eddie is when he won the WWE championship from Brock Lesnar back in 04. I remember how much I had completely marked out for it. I screamed and screamed at the top of my lungs because I saw that my favorite wrestler had finally become champion. It was an awesome momment. Eddie deserved that title so much and I was just so happy to see him become champion. Eddie also delivered some other great momments including his lengthy feud with JBL, or his hilerious segments with Kurt Angle; all of them, truly epic.

Eddie Guerrero, truly the best wrestler I have ever seen. It's hard to take in the fact that he really is dead, and that it has almost been 5 years now. I miss the guy...RIP Eddie...

By the time I started watching wrestling regularily, Eddie was already dead. Dead but not forgotten. The Vault matches on Smackdown would give me a sight of his skills, his passion, his dedication that lead to me going across the internet devoring his matches and his gimmicks and his skills. And then I came across these:

Eddie Guerrero and Dean Malenko in their final match with ECW. I watched these two talented wrestlers pour their hearts out into that match, and I'd lie if I said I didn't tear up at the end of it, knowing that Eddie Guerrero could not put on a match for his fans, could not demonstrate his passion for the business.

And then I went over WCW. His reign as United States Heavyweight Champion. Multiple reigns as WCW Cruiserweight Champion. The Filthy Animals. Latino World Order. I just couldn't help but watch match after match of excellent preformance.

And then came the Radicalz, and with the Radicalz came Latino Heat. And with Latino Heat came Lie, Cheat and Steal.

You can say this is an overexxageration, but truly, Eddie Guerrero was one of the best wrestlers, the best entertainers, the best preformers ever to enter the professional wrestling industry.

RIP Eddie Guerrero. You are deeply missed.

I will always remember the great matches against chris benoit and of course i loved the throwing a chair to an opponent then laying down for the easy win--only fitting his last match ended that way
RIP EDDIE GUERRERO
