ECW needs new divas

ECW is old, dried up, and needs new talent. But I think that ECW should create a womens title. Like, for divas. On ECW. They also need some divas. Katie lea burchill was pretty much it. add a title, some divas, and your set to go for a bit. extreme womens title. Like, perhaps the bella twins, and some other divas who have no competition or arent being used right now,. your thoughts?

So, you are telling me that the WWE need to hire or switch around their diva's onto the TV developmental show with only one hour of allocated time and make a championship with a proper division? This has been done before and quite frankly is just a bad idea. Here's why:


1) The WWE already have two women's championships. The amount of women they have is not enough to form a legit division for two titles, yet they have managed to do so by splitting up the rosters and extend storylines so each title defense is kept fresh. If you bring in more women, they still won't get used due to the allocated time that the women get each week.

2) ECW is a one hour show dedicated for giving new talent a start and already built talent a place to rekindle themselves in order to move along up the brands. Right now, the Diva's Division on RAW takes the cake on this as most of the girls in the division are still learning how to work proper matches. The best they have on RAW right now is Melina, Gail Kim and Maryse.

3) Those girls that aren't being used right have a reason why. It's because they aren't good enough to be featured. So, why not use them for other roles that are desperately needed? The WWE are in dire need of managers/valets to give them a boost and not flounder. I know Eve has backstage interviewing experience, so why not give her the job for a while whilst giving her a match or two every so often to keep the ring rust off? Alicia Fox has made a great use of herself as a valet/manager with DJ Gabriel and Michelle, and she can compete in the ring as well. The Bella Twins are just there for the eye candy, so let them taunt the crowd with seduction.


If the WWE ever need to use their female talents in a wrestling ring but don't get time to feature them regularly, there is a developmental ground called FCW. This is a perfect place for the girls to be featured and possibly even teach the newer ones what and what not to do.

The problem with creating a third women's title is that there just isn't enough time on ECW for that. There's already plenty of people on that brand that don't make it on the show weekly, and putting more women on ECW just to create another title would take away from the show instead of adding to it.

ECW only has a roster of fifteen people. In fact, with Tommy Dreamer leaving and the rumors of ECW being cancelled/changed by WWE, the last thing it needs, in my opinion, is more people. They have Rosa Mendes and obviously don't plan on having her wrestle. You have a few new fresh fish in Yoshi, a repackaged Ryder and Zeke actually wrestling. Christian, a named dude at the top. Then people like Regal to work with the green dudes. It's pretty much a developmental show at this point.

Not that the show is bad or anything. I actually really like ECW. I think that it's only one hour long, instead of two hours like RAW or Smackdown, really helps it a lot. One hour seems like the perfect time for a wrestling show. You don't have to fill up time with nonsense like backstage vignettes trying to hock DVDs or whatever.

But anyway, to answer you question, no, I don't think they need more women. They currently have Rosa and Katie Lea. They're not going to build a division around them. Especially when RAW and Smackdown each already have their own (admittedly terrible) divisions themselves.

ECW is WWE's C show. Vince isn't going to put to much stock into anything on that show. ECW is mainly being used as a platform to season young superstars.

This sounds like a good idea, but I think it wouldn't work. First of all, we really don't know the status of Katie Lea since Paul lost his match to Hurricane. It would be nice to see Katie given a push again, but she doesn't represent the WWE diva image. She doesn't have the supermodel look like Melina and Michelle McCool does. Her look is very eccentric and different. I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with that because I like it, but a WWE diva who has a look like Katie's won't get pushed.

Yeah, it would be nice to see someone like Katie have a title, and be presented as another dominate female in WWE. Although, as far as competition goes, it'll be the same thing that goes on with McCool and Melina. What I mean by that is, over on Raw, Melina's the only diva that can really wrestle, and put on a watchable match at times, but she constantly is up against women who are horrible in the ring. Same thing goes for McCool on Smackdown. While I think she's overrated as a wrestler, she's pretty solid, and does enough to look like a credible champion, as far as wrestling goes. Again, she faces other women who are horrible in the ring, so there really is no competition, unless her and Beth square off some where down the line.

The Bellas are pretty much just eye candy, and they're doing fine with their roles on Raw. Again, this sounds like a good idea, but knowing WWE, it'll just be the same thing on another show. Nothing would be different.

Terrible idea. ECW does not need new divas, let alone a third female title. I would go as far as to say that ECW shouldn't even have any divas. It is for newcomers to make a name for themselves, and for other guys to get repackaged if they need a new character. They are only an hour show and barely have enough time for their one title. Adding any titles would be a terrible idea, even one for the guys. The only divas on ECW are Rosa and Katie. They would be feuding nonstop. It would get VERY old VERY fast. This should not happen because the show would not have enough time for it and they only have 2 divas, both of which could easily be sent to Raw/Smackdown anyhow.

ECW is a show that is used for showing new talent, but really... WWE HAS ALOT OF TALENT RIGHT NOW. They dont need ECW IMO. watch, bring everybody currently in ECW over to smackdown and raw, and close ECW. Better $ wise, and it saves wwe from backing up their superstars. If wwe needs new talent, hold a contest or something. But wwe ATM has no place for new fresh superstars ATM. There is no availible spots, (except for maybe yoshi, and definetely christian.). but close ECW, and watch what happens. BAck on topic, if wwe gets some divas in there, they can just have maybe a few weeks with them b4 closing ECW. Rosa is pathetic, and katie lea isnt on ECW. she got banned from ECW if i recall....

No it dosnt. The show is an hour long features two matches and if one every week was a divas match its ratings would be in the negatives.

nah. i dont think that they need any more diva's on the show. ECW at the moment is a developmental show. I like the idea the currently the only females on the show are managers on the show. Rosa isn't a Haymen or Bearer like manager. but she does escort Ryder to the ring and helps out so guess shes Managery like.

The idea of adding another diva title on the show isn't a good idea, I don't think it would work considering th number of diva's in the WWE at the moment. They can barely make the 2 titles work together at the moment. Michelle McCool defends the title evey couple of months. So the additional Title wouldn't go down to well.

Let's keep ECW the way it is. A stepping stone for the up and comers. Dont need anymore Divas. They're fine the way they are
