Eagle title Belt

What is with all the Eagle title belts.

Wwe championship has an eagle on it. Tna has an eagle on it.

Why?

I'm guessing it has something to do with the Eagle being the most majestic and beautiful bird in the bird world and it being top dog so to speak. It's only a guess. Why else would the top dog in the company have a belt with it on it?

As has been mentioned before, eagles are majestic birds and have been symbols for hundreds of years. Don't fix what ain't broke, would you take the belts and the companies seriously if a turkey was on the cover???

Ben Franklin would. Remember, he wanted the turkey as the US symbol and not the eagle.

As far as I know I couldn't think of any animal that could be as awesome to grace a World Title Belt. I mean if you didn't have an eagle (or for that matter any type of animal), then World Titles would probably look more like the UFC title which just has the company name in big ass letters.

But I think it'd be pretty cool to see another animal on a World Title, like a lion, which could represent strength and power.

Aye to the Franklin-Turkey remark. The eagle won by only 2 votes if memory serves correct. I say have a World Turkey Championship and it replace the IC title. First WTC champ....the gobbledygooker of course!

Going back to the medieval style hierarchy that was in place at one stage The Eagle is the top of the heirarchy, just as the Lion is. As well as the Whale if memory serves correct. And most important to the medieval people The King being the head of men, and the Pope being the head of the clergy. Therefore the symbolizim of the eagle is that the person is the top of the heirarchy. Its all fairly logical and make sense if you look at it that way.

Hoever that is the way that you can get into it too far, which noone other than someone with a vast degree of knowledge over a large amount of esoteric things would say, it is probably the actual reason behind the real reason for the eagle.

The symbol for the United States is that of the bald-headed Eagle. It wouldn't be too far a guess to say that the eagle was chosen by the WW(W)F to be in line with United States Heraldry while being distinct and different at the same time.
