Grapefruits of Wrath
I've been wanting to make this thread for a while, and I just got the gaseous inspiration from a fine bowl of fresh greens.

I see many music threads on rock and metal, country and pop, and all the other more popular genres of music. I have a feeling there are a few fans of Dubstep out there, especially with the base of UK posters on this board.

For those who don't know what Dubstep is, I'll do my best to explain. Electronic, Dance, Heavy Bass. For the more music savvy here is what Wiki has to say about Dubstep:

Dubstep is a genre of electronic dance music that has its roots in London's early 2000s UK garage scene. Musically, dubstep is distinguished by its 2-step rhythm, or use of snare sounds similar to 2step garage and grime, and an emphasis on bass, often producing "dark" sounds, but just as frequently producing sounds reminiscent of dub reggae or funky US garage. Dubstep tracks are generally produced at a tempo of around 140 beats per minute and in recent years have developed signature half time rhythms, often heavily shuffled or syncopated, and usually, though not exclusively, including only one snare drum hit per bar, often on the third beat. Such factors make dubstep rhythms markedly different from four-to-the-floor rhythms used in other styles of electronic dance music such as house music, which usually have two snare hits accompanying the second and fourth kick drum. Often, the sense of rhythm in dubstep is propelled more by the bassline than by the percussive content.

I Recently (within the last 4 months or so) heavily got into this music, I really enjoy all aspects of dubstep, the build up to the huge bass drops, the classic dub sounds, you can run and dance to the music just as much as you can sit back and relax to it.

I would like to hear from some dubstep fans out there, as to what your listening to, any up and coming dubstep DJ's, or just your favorite dubstep artist.

I'll start with one my favorites, Rusko.

Jahova is my favorite Rusko track, a true work of art, this song will give me the chills under the right circumstances.

William H. Tonkers is another fine example of Rusko's unique style of Dubstep, A top 5 favorite of mine.

This is one of the more popular dubstep tracks out there, I could go on posting Rusko's work all day, But I would love to hear what everyone else is listing to, If anyone else is enjoying the art of Dubstep.

I will be posting many more Dubstep artists and their songs, hopefully there's a few dubheads out there.

* On a side note Dubstep + and Marijuana just seem to go hand in hand, as does Marijuana and all music for that matter.

Benga

Benga is the artist who got me hooked on Dubstep, His album Diary of an Afro Warrior was introduced to me by a ganja dealing friend of mine, and this album really changed my outlook on music, it was really like nothing I had ever heard before, and with all the Dubstep that I listen to now, there is still nothing that compares to Benga's style.

These three track are all off the album Diary of an Afro Warrior, a fantastic alum, if you like these three tracks than I suggest getting the whole CD, no fillers on this one.

Listening to Rusko, and then Benga it does a really good job of showing the diversity of Dubstep, and the different directions it can be taken.

Do we have no pro wrestling fans out there who also enjoy the sweet sounds that dubstep has to offer??

Well, I'm going to continue either way, and maybe create some new dubstep fans.

Skream, or DJ Skream, whatever you would like to call him has been been at the roots of dubstep right along side Benga since the early 00's. Skream, like most dubstep DJ's has his own unique style. Less heavy bass from Skream, and more of an upbeat rhythm to his songs.

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/mlnb6OGbm2A&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/mlnb6OGbm2A&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

This is the first Skream produced track that ever blessed my ears, and although its a very simple track, it is still one of my favorites.

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/BzV91RdXSr4&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/BzV91RdXSr4&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

This might be my favorite Skream track, the bass drop, and the use of the bass throughout the song is just awesome, throw in the Marv sample from sin city and its an orgasm for my ears.

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ubm_qrRjm40&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Ubm_qrRjm40&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

Yet another simple dubstep track from Skream, showing that you don't need all those bells and whistles, or the heavy bass to produce a solid dubstep track.

This is just a sample of what Skream has to offer, his music ranges to all corners of dubstep, and the production quality is top notch. I have plenty more dubstep to come, hopefully I can convert some music fans out there.

Distance

It's time to welcome everybody over to the darker sounds of dubstep, the bass is deep, the sounds echo in your dome, the beat is slowed down and you can almost feel the night time chills creep up your back.

Night vision, off the album My Demons, is the perfect track to introduce everyone to the dark side, darker sounds, slower tempo, same great dubstep.

Traffic, also off the Album My demons, is a little more up tempo, but the sound is just as dark. If you like the darker sounds of dubstep your not going to find a better DJ than Distance.

Head strung, released as a single, may be my favorite distance track, this song brings a little something different to the table than the previous two distance tracks, and is about as "happy" as distance is going to get.

I overall enjoy the more upbeat and "happy" side of dub, but I can always through a distance CD in and fade away with my thoughts.

I'm going to break my trend and give you one last track from Distance.

No Sunshine, the backside to the Head Strung record, makes for an chilling one, two punch, the title no sunshine could not be more fitting for this track, and just hammers the nail on the dark side of dub.

I have plenty more dubstep to come, I'm still hopeful that there is another poster out there who would like to contribute, or at least someone who's enjoying the music.

MRK1

MRK1 like most dubstep artists has a style all his own, he has a more tribal earthy feel, less heavy bass, more rhythm more melody.

MRK1 - Trip Down the Nile

This track off the album Copyright Laws uses a little bass, but focuses more on the beat and throws in some funky sounds to satisfy the mind.

MRK1 - Caveman Boogie

Another track off the Album Copyright Laws, this is probably my favorite track on the CD, more funky sounds and an addicting beat and tempo, some discreet bird chirps mixed in and you can see why MRK1 is like no one else.

MRK1 - Sensi Skank

A very simple track, with a classic reggae dub feel to it, again no heavy bass drops, but more of a focus the beat and the different sounds.

So we now have five different dubstep artists, and sixteen quality dubstep tracks to introduce anyone into the genre. All five artist with different styles and sounds, and I'm not even close to finished.

Any thoughts or feedback on the music, the thread, or anyone with suggestions or input, please feel free to post away. I would love to be introduced to some new dubstep artists if anyone out there is withholding.!?

Caspa

Caspa is another UK based dubstep DJ, similar in style to Rusko, but still very different. No shortage of heavy bass drops, and Caspa offers a few dubstep tracks with raps over them, here ya go.

Caspa
Rat Tat Tat (Ft. Dynamite MC)
Everybody's Talking Nobody's Listening

This is my favorite dubstep track that features lyrics, you get everything you want from a solid dubstep track in this song, and on top of it, the rap is pretty good. Fast paced track with heavy bass, this one is worth a listen if you need lyrics with your music.

Caspa
For the Kids
For the Kids - Single

This is a pretty simple dubstep track, nice bass drop, but I chose this one for the awesome Willy Wonka clip that Caspa Uses, it makes the track.

Caspa
I Beat My Robot
Everybody's Talking, Nobody's Listening

Another simple dubstep track, again showing you don't need the heavy bass to make the track, this one has a nice and funky electronic feel to it as well.

More Dubstep to come.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of WZ. Don't be stingy and make sure to pass the Peace Pipe today.

:rasta: :dj: :rasta:

Wow... i guess we're the only 2 dubstep wrestling fans on WZ...

I fell in love with the genre this summer, despite being from where dubstep originated, Croydon, South London. Many of the big names from dubstep hail from my town. benga, Skream, Plastician to name a few.

I'm an avid listener of London's RinseFM and went to their 15th birthday rave, headlined by Rusko, Caspa, Benga v Skream, Plastician to name a few.

Here are a few of my favourite dubstep tracks.

Jakes - 3k lane

Headhunter - Brain sushi

Black Ghosts - Somewhere through this (Plastician & Skream remix)

This is awesome, really made my morning to see someone besides me drop some awesome Dubstep in this thread. So, much thanks to The Madcap, not only did he post three awesome tracks, but inspired me to post some more delicious Dubstep with the fantastic track by Jakes and Joker - 3k lane.

I'll start by posting a few Joker tracks, wobbly bass mixed with 80's synthesizer sounds makes for a very unique and enjoyable Dubstep Sound.

Joker - Digidesign

<object width="640" height="505"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/zzHOdfSHZgs&hl=en_US&fs=1&"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/zzHOdfSHZgs&hl=en_US&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="505"></embed></object>

Joker - Purple City

Joker is yet another one of my favorite Dubstep artists outs there, nobody really has a sound that compares to Joker, and the three joker tracks are all 5 star Imo.

Now, since The Madcap was kind enough to post a Joker and Jakes tracks I will move onto posting a few tracks by Jakes. Heavy bass, check. Crazy sounds, check. Classic sound bytes, check.

Jakes - Rock tha Bells

Well, there you have it, Six more Dubstep tracks, Inspired by The Madcap.

I can only hope for everyone else to enjoy these tracks as much as I do. Still much more to come, for my Smooth Sexual itunes library is filled to the brim with delicious Dubstep.

:rasta:

So I was browsing the Itunes library for some new Dubstep, and came across a fantastic, full length album by Bar 9. With Fourteen original Dubstep tacks, all with very heavy bass.

333.jpg

Not only did this CD come with Fourteen original Dubstep tracks, but cam with a second CD with Twenty Four more original and remixed Dubstep tracks from over Ten other dubstep artists.

Here are the standout tracks Imo.

Midnight - Bar 9

Dirtier than eating&#65279; out your dogs ass

I believe this quote is meant to be viewed in a positive light, Midnight is the stand out track of this CD, without a doubt. This is Dubstep right here folks.

Pussyhole - Bar 9

This track is the Pussyhole, if you catch my drift.

Distant Roots - Bar 9

There where lots of solid tracks I could have picked for my third Bar 9 track, I chose Distant Roots, it does a good job showing the range of Dubstep that Bar 9 has to offer.

I'm very impressed with the quality of all the tracks on the CD, almost 40 combined tracks, your never left feeling like you've been listening to the same song over and over again.

Time to go make a sacrifice to the THC gods. :rasta:

Here's some West Coast flavor for your sensitive little ear holes.

Mimosa - Another Day

This song is amazing, if you can believe it, I enjoy taking massive bong rips and blowing my mind with the sounds of Mimosa. Give this track a listen, you will become a fan.

Mimosa - Kinetic

This track is a no brainer. Its like finding dub in your jacket on Christmas morning.

Mimosa - Dead Like Me

Yes. All of Mimosas music is this good.

:rasta:

I know some say he isn't traditonal Dubstep but one of my favourites is Burial, one of my former friends got me into this guy as a way of expanding my mind about other music genres and Burial ever since has been good.

One of my favourite Burial tracks. Ghost Hardware.

Just to make sure you get enough West Coast flavor in your lives, you will all have the privilege of unwrapping the gift of An-Ten-Nae. West Coast super producer An-Ten-Nae not only puts out some of the best Dubstep compilations known to man, but he also makes some pretty sexy beats himself.

An-Ten-Nae - Tripping on Banana Peels

This track is so simple. The infectious beat drives me head insane.

7:15am out here on the West Coast, although I've been up for almost an hour, officially I can still qualify for a Wake n' Bake, Peace be with you WZ.

I'll be back :rasta:

Okay, so during my gaseous inspiration session I realized something, I've posted much Dubstep from many artists across the pond, I have also posted the best the West Coast and the states have to offer. Somehow I forgot about my brothers to the North, O sweet Canada you will not be forgotten, for I have a Canadian Dubstep DJ who help unite all of the WZ forum in Dubstep Peace.

Datsik, his name says it all, and his style is loud and in your face. I first got a listen to this guy on an An-Ten-Nae mix tape and went out and loaded up on all his music. Its unique, its loud, it scares little kids, and helps virgins get laid. What more could you ask for in music, give it a try and enjoy.

Datsik - Southpaw

This is the first track I ever heard from Datsik, I was hooked right away, with bass similar in style to Rusko (loud and heavy) this track is a nightmare for your neighbors .

Datsik - Texx Mars

Canadians producing Dubstep like Gretzky scored goals.

Datsik - Gecko

Datsik will put your brain in a sharpshooter, you will tap out to the awesome sounds and wobbly bass.

Enjoy the mixed bag of Dubstep goodies, I'm out to enjoy some of my own goodies :rasta:

I'm back with another bag of mixed treats, though I would throw out a few more tracks off of some random compilation CD's I've picked up over the last year. Only premium Dubstep from SSC as usual, so sit back and don't roll the blunt to tight.

Digital Mystikz

Midnight is the shit, that drop is what makes Dubstep so awesome, I'm glad you enjoyed the Bar 9, definitely a solid Dubstep release.

Now for today's Dubstep special, I will serve the up the Dub that's right above Bar 9 in my library, just to make my life a little easier.

Babylon System

Heavy bass and west coast roots make for a very enjoyable experience listening experience. Babylon System fits in nicely with any other dubstep you feel like listening too.

No one trick pony here folks, bass, melody and a few sound bytes for good measure, any Dub head will feel right at home with Babylon System pounding your dome.

I had a really hard time trying to figure out the best Babylon System tracks to put up, they're all so tasty and delicious that I just put a bunch of them up for everyone to choose from. Best track imo is Hyphy instrumental, after that its pretty much a level playing field.

Hope everyone got laid yesterday, or the very least a good blow. :rasta:

No stupid jokes today, just a few Dubstep tracks for the fuck of it. Expand your musical taste and give this muzak a try.

Ikonika

Trade the bass for some bleeps and you have Ikonika, hipster Dubstep if you will, and that's not a joke.

Ikonika - Simulacrum

This is pretty much all the Ikonika I could find on ye old youtube. This shits pretty good, worth a few minutes of the clock.

Just picked up a couple new Dubstep tracks off the old itunes and thought I would share my awesome finds with all you wrestlezone dub heads.

RSD - Naked Mario Kart

Mario Kart + Dubstep = Good times

RSD - Green Hill

Video game Dubstep. Green hill = Emerald hill, Sonic da Hedgehog

One new artist, Two new tracks, and Three bowls of Greens. :rasta:

Looks like the Dubstep thread could use a little morning lovin'. So to help everybody wake up this morning, so get ready to crank the bass up eleven, sit back and vibe.

So, today I will shine the mini spot light on Vibesquad, who not only dabbles in Dubstep, but produces some fine Trip-Hop beats as well. His tracks are heavy on the bass, and I would swear the term wobbly bass comes from listening to Vibesquad. All his tracks are heavy and filled with noise, but surprisingly still touches base with a nice melody, which makes his music, O so enjoyable.

I'll drop a few of my favorites on you, hope everyone enjoys.

Vibesquad
Memberz Only
Bass Love

This is the song that got me hooked, the build up to the drop is close to two minutes, but holy shit, its worth the wait, as he'll drop some funky knowlage for those patient enough to wait.

Vibesquad
Slurpeez
Bass Love

So I had no luck finding any of the tracks I wanted to, besides the first one, though Slurpeez is a sick track, its not what I had in mind to introduce vibesquad. Solid track none the less, If you like the style of the first track than there is no doubt you will quickly fall in love with Vibesquad.

If you enjoyed these, I would suggest checking out a few of his other songs like, Biggie Shortie, Dome Piece, and Wobbleston. Though you won't have any luck on youtube, so maybe some internet downloading action will get you the job done. Enjoy.

So I have some brand spankin' new Dubstep for all to hear, I was alerted to this amazing artist by my itunes alerts, on accident. Clearly the best accident for me this year.

Excision is the name, and heavy wobbly fast paced beats is the game, Excision is quickly climbing my list of favorite Dubstep producers. Originality is key when trying to stand out in the Dubstep crowd, and Excision does just that, his beats are some of the best I've heard in a while, and he got some fantastic calibrations as well.

Clearly some supreme Dubstep here. Bass, Beats, Battle Star Galactica :suspic: :rasta:

So it's been far to long since I've shown any love to the dubstep thread, this is like my first baby of the music section after all.

So after having some great musical conversation with Ty Burna last night, we ended up with a few awesome Dubstep tracks in the ESP thread, some great cross promoting between musical threads, I've got some great dubstep tracks that feature some lesser known rap artists, but I'll be posting those in the Official hip hop thread later today.

For know, I have something special for all those dub heads out there, I was alerted this past Monday by my itunes account, about a Jakes dubstep mixtape, with 16 tracks more than half where new (new to me) and there where a few classic tracks that where given the Jakes mix treatment, It also had a continuous mix as the 17th track.

All in all, this is some of the best dubstep I've heard so far this year, I'll post a few of my favorites off the CD, but really they are all top notch tracks.

Jakes
Boom Boom Bass

This track is so fucking awesome they only have a preview up on youtube, but the preview lets you know whats up, so check it out.

Do you like bass in your MOTHER FUCKING FACE???

Jakes
Code Zebra

Off the charts wobble factor, Jakes is one of the best.

Jakes
3k Lane 1999

Classic track by Jakes and Joker, with a little extra wobble for her pleasure.

This CD is Dubstep boss, a Heavy Funky Wobbly masterpiece of Dubstep art, please your ears and give it a listen. :rasta:

oooh that Jakes 3k lane 1999 is absolutely dirty!!!

Thank you SSC.

I'm going to purchase the Jakes Mixtape today, as well as Roska's new album and This is Dubstep vol 2, which was way too big to download, nearly 700mb!

Umming and ahhing about going to the next Rinse FM event, headlined by Skream v Benga, Caspa, Plastician, Oneman and Boy Better Know.

Madcap, seen any good live Dubstep lately?

So Rusko dropped his first full length album today, though I snagged a copy of that goodness last night. There is definitely a bit of a change in Rusko's style, its almost like Deadmau5 meets Dubstep with the rave and house elements mixed in to the new CD.

With that said, I'm still very happy with the release, Rusko doesn't leave the dubstep behind, but rather attempts to bring it to places it's never been before, The CD is infectious and they're most certainly some solid stand out tracks that I'll be sharing.

This is only about half the track, but you get the picture.

I guess its to early to pluck these gems off of youtube, but I still snagged a couple, well 1 1/2 songs, but still enjoy for now, and I'll post some more later once they're uploaded.
