Occasional Pre-Show
Just looking over the draft it seems that the wwe have sent alot of main event talent to raw and left smackdown with not much

moving to raw is :John Morrison, Chris Jericho, edge and a soon to maybe be main event superstar r-truth

and smackdown got nobody really apart from kofi whos push was totally stopped and Christian.

so could this mean wwe are preparing to either totally crush tna week after week till hogan leaves and they go back to thursdays or just doing this incase tna start to become a threat or an i just imagining things

thoughts

I don't think that it will make a difference. This is what they do almost every draft and that is bring in the big names all to raw. I think smackdown maybe for some people that has lost a little speed and they are going to get a better push on smackdown in the long run. I think Christian and Kofi are a perfect fit for smackdown. But this talk about bringing big names to raw is nothing different from any other draft.

Wasn't there something about how Vince is not going to be on tv anymore? That right there should tell you that they are not worried about tna. Because if they where im sure they would bring his face in for more ratings.

they admitted that they did the moves for ratings purposes.. only they blamed it on having to go up against monday night football. of course, they're never going to acknowledge tna by name unless tna ever starts beating raw.

Well, the WWE does the Draft every year and would have this year whether TNA iMPACT! was on Monay nights or not. I know that there are fans that desperately want to see the WWE acknowledge TNA as some kind of a threat, but it's simply not going to happen anytime soon. TNA iMPACT! often doesn't even draw in the low 1s now, they're not gaining new viewers and they're not stealing viewers away from the WWE.

The WWE is going through something of a transition right now. Younger talent is being pushed more to the forefront and being given the spotlight. Shawn Michales is gone, Triple H will be out probably until the late summer, Batista is said to be leaving soon, so that means that there are young guys, particularly from Smackdown, that are going to have to step up and show that they're able to make it as main event talent. Raw is a much more high profile show than Smackdown is at the moment, Raw is live, Raw has a much bigger audience right now and what better time for younger talent to step up?

no, they did the exact same last year, bringing most stars to Raw, u'll see next year big show going back to raw. to me it seems they send the mid-carders to smackdown for them to become big. the only name from smackdown that has never moved in the draft is taker, and with raw, its hbk, now retired..

taker will help put over talents such as christian..then he will head back to raw with momentum...

Just saw this thread, and even though it's a few weeks old - I'll add to it.

My original thought was that the draft was WWE acknowledging TNA ... moving most of the top stars to Raw so that no one would tune into Impact!. However, the bigger reason the WWE moved all its stars to Raw probably has more to do with MyNetworkTV not airing Smackdown! in a lot of markets. Why give a show top stars when the network won't air the shows?!

Its simpler than that. The draft mixes up the roster so that you don't always have the wrestlers feuding against the same people year after year (excluding Cena/Orton, lol). They have been doing the draft somewhat regularly since the brand split.

Nice try attempting to link it to TNA, but really, its just wishful thinking.
