I've never actually used a Tablet before, and I mean I'm not the BEST free hander but I'm working on it. I know I'll eventually need to work on a Tablet for my career path, and I've already got plenty of Photoshop experience; I was just wondering it was good for beginners or not.

The question still stands, I need to know if it'd be worth shipping out 200 bucks for.
They're the tools of the trade. if you plan on doing anything with graphic arts/design and want to be hired on staff n' taken seriously then you'll have to learn the ins & outs of their use. That said it's always better to learn sooner than later. Starting as a beginner you'll develop your technique hand in hand with your other skills rather than playing catch up. I have an Intuos graphire gen 2 from my college days that cost me about $400 and I still use it to this day... they've gotten bigger and better but perhaps see if you can find a cheaper old model on E-bay...
