Does Anyone have Xbox Live?

Ok you know what, the PS3's have a tiny fail percentage (less than one percent) compared to the Xbox's 25% fail percentage. So no bullshit about replacements, they don't need 'em, and if you have a warranty they'll replace it... Just like they replaced mine.

Everything that Will just said is my answer. PS3 does the same thing but they won't help you if you get the yellow light. At least Microsoft will fix it if you red ring.
I have not once heard of this yellow light "issue" until just now. Must be a very rare occurrence.

If Xbox made online free, the PS3 wouldn't exist anymore. No one would play their PS3, they would play Xbox and it would happen to Xbox. With the exception of a few people, PS3 would be unplayed.
Very debatable, i'm sure there are just as many if not more fans of Sony than there are of Microsoft. We have loved every Playstation from it's conception and buy each one because they're quality systems. Unlike Xbox fans who buy a whole new console for the next installment of Halo or whatever other overrated garbage sequel is on the horizon.

PC > Consoles.

I hate gaming on PCs, I have for years. I agree with you, that PC gaming is usually superior, not to mention cheaper more often than not...just never really liked it.

I guess I'm just used to having a game controller in my hands to play video games.

I own both a PS3 and a 360. I like them equally the same other than I prefer the 360 controller over the PS3 Dual Shock 3.

If your computer has the right specs, objectively, computer gaming is probably superior. However, like you were saying, some people think consoles, with handles and such, give the player a better experience, and it feels more like a game.

With the ps3 / xbox360 deal, I've played both, and I prefer the 360. Hence, prefer. I think ps3 is the better system overall, especially compared to the first arcade 360s.

I just played the PS3 for the first time. I really liked playing Street Fighter on it. So I now hold all consoles at the same level. Each with their own faults and advantages. So there.

I recognise the PS3 is the technologically better system, however I personally love my Xbox. Sure its not perfect, but I'm sure the PS3 isn't either. Really at the end of the day, its down to personal preference.

And fanboys annoy the shit out of me, especially the Microsoft ones who refuse to belive the 360 is not faultless.

And that's all I ask of 360 fans. See how easy that is Jonnie?

I also find it funny ANYONE can believe Microsoft is faultless, at anything. I defend Microsoft a lot, especially with regards to PC security, but to say they don't screw things up a lot is just silly.

Has anyone ever used the towel trick? I was scared to get near my 360 after the noises it made.

I wouldn't advise doing that as it would cause long-term problems. If there's a problem, and your 360's still under warranty, send it in. No need to over heat it. Just saying that sounds silly.

I only did once and then sent it in. It worked for like an hour and then broke again.

What error were you getting? E73 or something?

And yea, your best option is always to send it in. I bet it's one of the first arcade 360s (the white one), correct?

Yep. I let it just sit in my basement for like a year broken and finally sent it in. I just played my N64. Was a good replacement.

My Super Nintendo could be run over by a Mack Truck and still work just as good as the day I got it.

Only reason I have a 360 is because my buddy gave me all his games and xbox for a cheap price, after two years the console shit on me, and I went out and picked up a new one. For 149.99.

Love to have a ps3, but just can't afford it at the moment.

I did have a PS3 at one point. It was backwards compatible. Sold just the console for 200 bucks more than I originally payed for it. Quite ok, in my book. Now i'm waiting to save up to buy the new slim version.

So you must have read other articles that we posted about how ps3 yellow light of death is a common and a growing problem. The no. of cases reported with the ps3 yellow light of death are increasing day by day. With Sony charging around 150$ on this fix, along with clearing off the data on your ps3 isn't the public favorite anymore.

It's as rare as the red ring that Microsoft has.

It's as rare as the red ring that Microsoft has.

42% of Xbox 360 owners answered “Yes” compared to a relatively small 8% of PS3 owners. When asked whether they’d had to repair or replace their console more than once, 23.1% of 360 owners answered “Yes” compared to only 0.96% of PS3 owners.

Not quite the same rate...

Or, if you want a study from a little longer ago:

Looking at the first 2 years of ownership, 2.7% of Wii owners reported a system failure to SquareTrade, compared with 10.0% of PlayStation 3 owners, and 23.7% for Xbox 360 owners.

I think it's pretty clear that, between 360 and PS3, the 360 is far more likely to fail or have problems..

Getting your system repaired for free > Having to pay $150.00 to Sony, for a problem you didn't cause.

Also, some xbox owners have never had a red ring. A friend of mine still has one of the very first original consoles that came out. Of course, he bought an elite because of the bigger hard drive - but his original never Red ring'd on him.

I own PS3...it's not too good with online for me..maybe because I don't buy many FPS's.. But UFC Online sucks and for the record

Alright, not once did I say the 360 is perfect. I think it's better, I like it better, and I don't care for the PS3 really at all. Sly, if you want to go on thinking the PS3 is better, go ahead. That's your opinion, and who am I to argue with an opinion, and the same goes for you. Because I think the Xbox is better I'm stupid? That's stupid, because ask anyone who owns either, and they'll tell you they like that one more, or theirs is better. You're trying to get me to say the PS3 is better, but I disagree. I think the Xbox is the best that there is. Sure, you have Blu Ray and free online and it may have more features, but in my opinion, the Xbox is hands down better.
