Does Anyone Else Have a Problem with Ric Flair giving up to the Figure Four?

I had no problem seeing Flair tap out, but I would have preferred to see an actual match between these two besides the same Flair spots for years. I understand Flair doing is usual spots for house shows or elsewhere, but doing it for PPV is just silly. I really don't think Flair would have agreed to lose to Lethal or tap out to his own move without his consent. There are much worst things Flair has done besides tapping out to Jay Lethal though. Losing to Rico in WWE and the Black Scorpion in WCW comes to mind.

I think everyone is looking to much into this. I don't see Jay Lethal becoming a mega star out of this or anything, but Flair tapping out to Lethal was probably Flair's idead to begin with.

Flair is my all time favorite wrestler ive been a fan of his since the 70's and i dont have a problem at all with it mainly because Flair is 60 years old and Lethal is what maybee 30 at the oldest. Its a good way to pass the torch to a younger guy ,the way Flair was done in wwe is a lot more disrespectful, they have done more to tarnish his legacy than anyone else ever could.

A little tidbit you should know about Ric Flair, Tenta. It's not his first loss at the hands of "his" Figure Four Leglock. Not to mention the fact that he's beaten Buddy Rogers in the same fashion. Wouldn't that have been disrespectful to Buddy? No. He put over a young guy. A guy would would become the greatest wrestler in history. There is nothing disrespectful about losing to your own finishing maneuver no matter how legendary you are. In the end, it's just a move.

I would've had a problem with this about 15 years ago. Seriously, though, Ric Flair's only concern right now should be getting a paycheck. Making him submit to the figure-four leglock can do nothing more than hurt his pride, and, if he's really as financially strapped as we all believe him to be, then a bruised ego should be the least of his worries.
