it depends on the author, the realism, and if he or she is going for a romantic type of story or a "quick fuck" type of story. I've read stories were the build up to the sexual encounter was 20 well detailed pages just building up the climax, and the actual sexual encounter was 3 pages. A big difference from a porn film which is like 5 minutes of storyline and 60 minutes of sex.
