It depends on the wrestler and, obviously whether or not they can wrestle.
Wrestlers that are fit are more favourable in my opinion, because they are athletic and in many cases can perform much better. Being in shape can get a guy over in more ways the being a 'monster' can.
Although it is not absolutely neccessary to be really fit, as long as you can wrestle. It is not all about having fit looking bodies at all, its about being able to wrestle. But the fitter a wrestler is. Is better for them in general.
